Beechwood Residential Care Home

My wife enetered Beechwood just eight months ago suffering from Alzhimer's/Dementia as well as other chronic conditions. The care she has received has been exemplary in all ways, and I have been kept informed about her condition and welfare at all times. Covid caused so difficulty, sure, but did not prevent visits to see my wife. I, and our children, are pleased to see the staff's attention to detail.

The staff were very kind and caring. Contacted us when needed and made us feel very welcomed. My father did take a little while to settle in but enjoyed the routine, food and particularly the activities which are such good social activities.

I have been so impressed over the last 2 years with the dedication of all the staff at Beechwood. They have worked so hard to keep residents safe whilst allowing as much visiting as possible in the circumstances. On a more general note, Beechwood is a happy place with very much a family atmosphere.

Beechwood has welcomed my Nan with much more than open arms. They have been incredible, with what was a bit of a rough start for my Nan moving into care, they have gone above and beyond to make her feel more than at home. I feel extremely happy knowing my Nan is happy, enjoying her food, has a comfy room, lovely company and just everything she needs. I have regular updates on how my Nan is doing and can call as regularly as I wish and nothing is ever too much for the team who are caring for her. When I see my Nan in photos it’s like seeing her at home. Cosy and settled. Really couldn’t be happier. Thank you Beechwood.

My mother has been a resident at Beechwood Residential Care Home for the last seven months, she absolutely loves it there. Her room is very homely, full of her own items from her previous home. The staff are all marvellous, kind, considerate and very affectionate. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I feel my mother's dementia and wellbeing has improved a lot since being there. Too many staff to thank but just to recognise a few - the lady who printed out a lovely photograph for my mother. A gentleman carer who is very kind to my mother and many more staff there. You are truly wonderful.

My mum said that she could do with more showers, she sometimes doesn't get the shower a week, this must improve.

My mother is very hard of hearing so garden visits won't work.

From day 1 the care and kindness shown to not only my father but to all of the family has been excellent.

The teams of staff have been really supportive for my mum and family. It is so hard to have to make the decision to put your loved ones in any home but I am so happy that my mum is kept happy, safe and well.

Coronavirus lockdown, thus far, has been handled well at Beechwood Residential Care Home. We've been kept informed of changes during lockdown by the staff, able to speak to my sister regularly on the telephone and, latterly, arranged a garden visit which was very well organised and appreciated. Thank you to all the staff for their hard work in caring for the residents and keeping them safe during the lockdown.

Mum has enjoyed her time at Beechwood, which has been due to the care given by the staff at the home. The facilities are good. Thinking about the future it would be nice to see Mum in a room with better furniture and bed lining. Looks very dated and of poor quality.

Very happy with the care my father is getting. Always letting us know if there are any issues like if he has had a fall, especially with the COVID lockdown.

We cannot speak highly enough of Beechwood. The Manager and her staff are the best, especially through this very stressful trying time. They have kept everyone well and free from the virus. They have done so well. My Aunt has been going off her food somewhat so they are going above and beyond coaxing her with her favorite foods, also milkshakes with extra cream or icecream in. She loves them. She is a very lucky lady to have gone to Beechwood and we feel very lucky also that she is there.

Mum settled in well. Staff is extremely kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. The meals look excellent and very healthy. Various activities going on to keep the residents active.

I visited my father for the first time since he moved into a care home. I was delighted with the help he and I received, with talking to each other in the garden. It was a great relief to all members of his family to see him happy and safe. Also to see first hand the excellent support he is getting. On behalf of all his large family, I cannot thank the staff enough.

The care home and staff are friendly and professional. After searching many homes this one was always a favourite because of their friendly and attentive manner and homely setup. They give confidence that the resident is incapable and safe hands. They have kept me informed and been there to talk and provide comfort. Proving they not only care for the resident, my mum-in-law but the family too. Thank you.

My friend has been a resident for approximately 6 months and has received excellent care. The staff are wonderful, very supportive, hard-working and understanding. In some areas, they do need extra help because of the needs of the residents in their care. The activities arranged are very good and the staff concerned work hard, encouraging the residents to get together. He has a very pleasant room, complete with television and views of the lovely grounds outside. He loves the food and there is always plenty to choose from I would certainly recommend Beechwood.

We really appreciate all the love and great care shown to Mum. The room, layout and facilities at Beechwood are excellent. However, it is the dedication, hard work, approachability and friendliness of the staff which really impressive. Mum is treated with great dignity. A big thank you to you all.
