My dad was placed at the Manor House for 6 weeks respite care. We were so impressed by the care provided, that he is now a permanent resident. As soon as you walk through the door, the homely atmosphere embraces you. The staff are wonderful, both with the residents, and their families. They are so
attentive, they will not even walk past a resident without a cheery greeting, a reassuring pat on the shoulder, or even a hug, which is so important for a human being. They go out of their way to ensure they know what each resident likes/does not like, for example ensuring my dad sits where he can watch the birds in the garden. They fit in with the resident’s wishes, rather than imposing rules-for instance providing drinks/food whenever a resident wants it. There are several different living rooms so a resident can choose to sit where they are most comfortable. Visitors are warmly welcomed and spoilt with cake and coffee. I can not rate them highly enough. Thank you to all of you.

On the occasions I have visited my father, I have always been made to feel welcome. If any problems have occurred, I have been notified straight away. At last years Christmas party, I was amazed at the effort put in and felt part of a family unit. It is a comfort to me to know my father is in good hands.
Thank you.

I came to visit a friend I hadn't seen for some time. He told me he was happy in his new home and that the people were very nice. I received a warm welcome from one of the staff and was offered a coffee. It was a good visit and a friendly atmosphere.

All the staff are really friendly and hopeful. I am made to feel very welcome at whatever time I visit Mum, who is much more relaxed in herself since being at Manor House. The manager has been particularly caring, giving me her valuable time to reassure me that mum is settling in.

In all the aspects that matter - respect, empathy, kindness, diligence, communication with relatives, support for relatives, and many more, the team at the Manor House excel. From the day of admission we have been reassured by the care my father-in-law and my wife's aunt have received.

On my inspection visit, I was a little concerned as a building upgrade was taking place. However, the staff were delightful and I was certain that my wife would enjoy her stay at the home. This turned out to be the case and my wife wanted to remain there. Her own bedroom was excellent and that is key
to her feeling of security and comfort. The staff kept in touch with frequent updates of how she was coping, eating and drinking. This sort of management means it is a good respite experience for my wife, and I can truly relax knowing she is safe. Thank you so much.

This home is so different to the last one our dad was in. It is clean, fresh and airy unlike the last home, when we visit we are made to feel welcome and we are shown to which ever room our dad is in and we are always offered refreshments. The staff are more efficient and attentive to our dads needs
and inform us if there is a problem. His bedroom is always clean and tidy and the bed is always made when we visit overall our dad seems happier here and we are happy with the care he is getting. The staff are a vast improvement to the last home.

We are always greeted with a warm welcome and a homely feel whenever we visit. Staff are committed, caring and always have time for a chat, both with residents and family. I couldn't wish for a better home for my father and his sister, both dementia sufferers.

Manor House is like a home from home. Very cosy and not at all like an institution. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and I completely trust them with mum's care.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
Care Quality Commission is responsible for the registration and inspection of social care services in England.
