MHA Aigburth is a care home designed to provide a welcoming and vibrant environment for all its residents. Located in Oadby, Leicester, the modern, en-suite accommodation spread across three floors, the home caters to a range of needs including advanced dementia and residential care for 56 residents.

I was warmly welcomed into Aigburth at short notice on the 23rd of May 2024 after a spell in hospital. 7 months later I'm still here! Aigburth is a lovely place but would just like to say the following - It would be nice if dining tables were always set with pepper and salt and napkins to see hunting
around. It would be nice if tea and hot food was always piping hot.

In March my two daughters were informed that the home wanted to change the Kingfisher floor to an all-dementia floor and would like me and four or five other residents to move to Treetops. After being on Kingfisher for three years it was a little traumatic but having viewed what would be my room I agreed.
I was able to move items of furniture etc with me and all went well.

The administration manager is always helpful and available in need. I find the majority of staff understand my willingness to help. The handyman is always happy to help unless he is very busy, he will help the next day. I enjoy the variety of activities offered, whether we want to attend or not. Personally,
for me, the three very good meals are too heavy. I appreciate the freedom to bring any pictures and have them put up in my room and bring in my own furniture that I choose to.

Sadly my mum wasn't at Aigburth for long - but in the time she was there, she was looked after with care and dedication. When she became very poorly, the whole team showed compassion and caring not just to her but to all our family. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to others.

My stepmother spent the last 8 weeks of her life at Aigburth. She was treated with dignity and respect throughout. The staff communicated very well with the family, helping to take informed decisions at critical times.

I could not be more happier with the care that my mum receives at this care home. I could not recommend this home enough to anybody it is outstanding. 100% recommendations for me, for example, my mum always looks clean and well dressed and always looks happy even with dementia.

My mother enjoyed the show with the magicians at the end of May. They spent a long time interacting with the residents (and staff) in a way that made everyone feel included and they remembered the names of those they had spoken to.
Mum has been able to recall the fun she had even a couple of weeks
later.

The staff are very caring and do their best to look after the residents who all have advanced dementia. There is a nice atmosphere when I visit, often there are birthdays to celebrate and a cake is provided. I can’t think she would get this care at another home.

So many good things to say about Aigburth. Staff are very friendly, good team spirit, great atmosphere, lots of laughs. There are lots of activities organised for the residents such as gardening club, games, crafting, music performances, day trips out, coffee mornings, and so much more. There are lots
of tasty meals, good menu options from which the residents can choose. Good cleaning regime, spillages are quickly cleared away. Purpose-built as a care home, wheelchair accessible, wide corridors, every room is en-suite with a great garden view, with light and airy communal areas. Visitors are always made to feel welcome no matter what the time of day, you can even enjoy a meal with your loved one. We are so glad we chose Aigburth.

Friendly, caring atmosphere. Great facilities and the most beautiful gardens.
The staff are welcoming and approachable. Mum has been supported in maintaining as much independence as possible whilst also having help whenever necessary.

I have always been very satisfied with the way Aigburth have cared, over 9 years, for my aunt. The facilities are first class and the care excellent, especially over the last few months when my aunt has been extremely frail. They communicate well with my brother and I. I was disappointed that there
was no MHA home for my mother to go into and Aigburth compares well with with the one she is in now, which itself has 5 stars.

Aigburth Care Home is a very welcoming place. The staff are very supportive and caring. The rooms are beautifully clean and ideal for their residents. There are numerous facilities, including the lovely gardens - attractive all year round.

My wife some five years ago had excellent treatment during her end of life. I have had to experience a stay some five years later and the care and events at Aigburth have not deteriorated in the years gone by.

My aunt is a resident at Aigburth she is happy there and has the help and support to live her life independently.
The staff are lovely helpful and accommodating and the atmosphere is like a little family-run home.

As a family, we are incredibly grateful to the staff at Aigburth Care Home for the recent care they have given to our dad following a rapid decline in his mental and physical health. This has been very traumatic for our whole family but everyone at Aigburth has been warm, welcoming and reassuring. This
has been consistent from the home manager to the carers, maintenance team, laundry and kitchen staff. It is wonderful to see the staff interacting in such a positive manner with all the patients and with one another. The individual care and attention to detail that has been shown to Dad has been amazing and we could not have wished for more. The wonderful volunteers have provided lots of opportunities for us, as a family, to become part of the everyday life at Aigburth and we have loved walking in the beautiful garden or going to the Sunday service. It is extra special that we have been able to take our little dog in to see Dad which has helped him to settle and has his brightened day! Thank you.

Mother-in-law well looked after by Aigburth since 2021 until her passing at ripe old age of 93 in September. Home is well managed and staff is good at communicating and engaging with family members, inviting them for meetings and updating them on wellbeing of their loved ones. Staff are all caring and
professional. In my mother-in-law's final days, the home was wonderfully accommodating with the large number of family members coming in and out of the home, making a difficult time less stressful. Thank you Aigburth for everything you've done, keep up the good work. Not easy looking after people with dementia, takes special people.

All staff who work for Aigburth Care Home give their best. At times, I believe they would be helped with, if possible, one or two more staff, x few hours or whatever they require a week.
The home is one of the best I have visited. May it always be so.

On the whole, the standard of care is excellent.
A few things are missed but that is inevitable in such a large place.
The home is spotlessly clean and the staff are always well-presented and friendly.
