My aunt is a resident at Aigburth she is happy there and has the help and support to live her life independently.
The staff are lovely helpful and accommodating and the atmosphere is like a little family-run home.
A big thank you to all the staff for the excellent care you provide to my aunt, we are
blessed to have such wonderful, caring, genuine people.

My mum has been at Aigburth for many years. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the environment they create. Every time I visit, it's clear she is being very well looked after by compassionate and dedicated staff.

Mother-in-law well looked after by Aigburth since 2021 until her passing at ripe old age of 93 in September. Home is well managed and staff is good at communicating and engaging with family members, inviting them for meetings and updating them on wellbeing of their loved ones. Staff are all caring and
professional. In my mother-in-law's final days, the home was wonderfully accommodating with the large number of family members coming in and out of the home, making a difficult time less stressful. Thank you Aigburth for everything you've done, keep up the good work. Not easy looking after people with dementia, takes special people.
Reply from Naeema Adam, Administration Manager at AigburthThank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure looking after your mother-in-law and she will be dearly missed by all, she was a lovely lady and we will all have happy memories of her.

All staff who work for Aigburth Care Home give their best. At times, I believe they would be helped with, if possible, one or two more staff, x few hours or whatever they require a week.
The home is one of the best I have visited. May it always be so.

On the whole, the standard of care is excellent.
A few things are missed but that is inevitable in such a large place.
The home is spotlessly clean and the staff are always well-presented and friendly.
The organised activities are fabulous.

My experience of Aigburth has been excellent. It is not easy to see a very close relative suddenly needing 24/7 care, but Aigburth has been the perfect place. All the staff I have contact with have been professional, supportive, and approachable. It has been good to have peace of mind that Mum is in
the best place for her at this stage of her life. The facilities are outstanding and seem more like a hotel. It was wonderful to have the use of the lounge for Mum's birthday, which made for a very special family time. Very thankful for Aigburth and all the staff.

I was delighted to be invited to an exhibition of residents’ art at Aigburth. My mum has always loved painting and was encouraged to take this up again and submit her work for the exhibition. I felt it gave her focus and huge enjoyment, being out in the garden during the summer.

The standard here is very good and the care is sometimes over the top but better that way than the other. Support is good and I have been treated with dignity when the support has been necessary. The staff and management do as well as can be expected when money is on a tight rein. I hope that when the
cost of living improves, the fees will come down proportionately and not stay at the level they are as the utilities do! I find my room on the small side and it is difficult to entertain visitors.

She had a clean comfortable room with a view over the lovely garden which is cared for by several volunteer gardeners.

Having moved four months previous the staff and the care they provided were great. Unfortunately, our friend passed away in March and throughout the last days of her life, the staff were caring and sympathetic.
Overall a lovely care home to be in, it was a pleasure to know everyone staff and residents.

My mum needed urgent respite care after having a fall at home following a stroke. The manager was able to assess her quickly, a room was available, and my mum was able to go in that same day. All the staff are kind and helpful, as are the lovely volunteers who organise all sorts of activities. My mum
feels safe and supported, and her being at Aigburth has given the family peace of mind. It is not her home, but the staff really try to make it the next best thing. Her only criticism is that the food can be a bit bland!

I found the staff to be very friendly and respectful towards my mother, maintained a good standard of personal hygiene which was a concern for me in Mum receiving care outside of the family unit. Really pleased with how the caregiving staff interacted with Mum as she is a very sociable person. I am
happy with the overall care Mum received during her respite stay and would have no issues in returning to this care service.

My mother has been in Aigburth Residential Home since February 2022 after being in a previous care home for about 19 months. Her experience in Aigburth has been much more successful since moving to the home. She mixes with the other residents and is much happier now she has been moved from the top floor
to the ground floor. Just before Christmas unfortunately she caught Covid but the staff managed to look after her well during this time and she is now well. The care the staff provided during her period of illness was amazing and the care staff always showed compassion and care to her physical and mental needs. The family will always be grateful to all the staff at the home including the catering staff. Mum always enjoys her food and has a good diet in the home. Thanks to all the staff at Aigburth especially the staff who worked through the recent Christmas period.

Aigburth has really been a good experience for my Mum. Since settling she has received great care. Staff are very helpful especially the senior staff we have met. The home is clean and smells fresh. Mum feels welcome, has friends and often says she is very happy there. There are usually two quality
activities a day. Many of these are run by volunteers but staff encourage Mum to attend and also organise and run activities. The garden is beautiful and also tended by volunteers. The food is very good and options appropriate. Visiting is flexible and we are always welcomed. I would not hesitate to recommend Aigburth.

I can not praise Aigburth care home enough. Mum has been in nearly three years now. She really enjoyed all the activities earlier on but just recently has had a few problems. The staff, all the staff whatever they do, are wonderful with her, that includes the night-time staff. She so enjoyed the jubilee
celebrations. Thank you all.

My Mum has been at Aigburth since August last year. She has been made to feel very welcome and all the staff speak to her with kindness and respect. She has recently been poorly and we were so pleased that she was able to stay at Aigburth with kind people looking after her rather than go onto a strange
hospital ward where they wouldn’t be aware of her special needs. The home has a weekly visit from a local GP surgery and the nurse/practitioner is second to none. She really understands the residents and is great with relatives too! Me and my sister are very pleased with the care given to my mum and the communication that we get from the Seniors if they feel there is something that we need to know. We have often witnessed carers' kindness towards residents when the carers don’t know we are around which is very reassuring for us. The gardens are a real asset to the home and are enjoyed by many of residents. We feel very fortunate that my Mum is being cared for at Aigburth.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.893)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.893) out of 10 for Aigburth is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.893 for Aigburth is calculated as follows: ( (410 Excellents x 5) + (49 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 459 Ratings = 4.893
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Aigburth is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
