It's a very good small home in a beautiful location of River Soar.
Good management and care facility.
Always excessive of qualified staffing(excellent manager, experienced service providers, senior staffs, carer, special chief, housekeeping, service providers all on the foot at the floor on service
to the service users) to carry out one to one care than unlikely any other places.
A charming and cheerful place to stay.

My friend moved to this care home in the middle of September 2017. From the first minute of stepping foot into Pinglenook, I could see she felt at home. In no time at all she settled and the difference I have seen in her is remarkable. She has her sparkle back. The staff are fantastic and you can see
nothing is too much trouble for them. With only being a 16 place centre, it feels like a home, not an institution. I thank them for their care and giving me peace of mind.

Mum has just stayed at Pingle Nook. The staff are the most caring and friendly you could wish for, mum wanted for nothing and nothing was too much trouble. The family were always made welcome and we are hoping to stay in touch.

To everyone at Pingle Nook,
Thank you all so much for the exceptional care you have delivered to my dear friend over the past 4 years. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, and all the residents are extremely well looked after and cared for.
From visiting many care homes in my time, I can
honestly say that Pingle Nook offers the best care services and have committed, long-term staff that are loyal to the home and all its residents. I know it may not look as fancy as all these brand-new care homes around, but it outperforms in quality of care and I would recommend it overall.

Caring, home from home atmosphere with very friendly experienced staff. Nothing is too much trouble to conduct or coordinate.
Residents are able to make informed choices of their needs, which are noted and fulfilled, and always discussed with the family to ensure that we are kept up to date.

I am very pleased with the standard of care that my Mother receives at Pinglenook, the staff always appear to carry out their duties in a very friendly and professional manner, I am kept informed of any new care or medical needs as they arise, and whenever I visit, the premises are always clean and
tidy and I am made to feel welcome and offered tea or coffee.

We were very upset at having to put our sister into care but she needed 24-hour attendance and as we are both elderly ourselves, we could not cope. Imagine our relief when we discovered Pinglenook could take her. It's close to our home and we can easily get to visit. From the very first day we went
there, we were more than impressed by the friendly, caring atmosphere that prevailed. The staff are all cheerful and welcoming. Their level of patience with those in their care is outstanding. It really does feel like 'home from home' with tea and biscuits offered whenever we go. The staff are always readily available to discuss any health issues or concerns we may have about our sister and they keep us well informed as to her ongoing condition. There are different activities taking place all week with a hairdresser to keep the ladies looking good. We are very grateful to all the staff for their never ending care.

During an extremely difficult time for me and my siblings after my mother broke her hip, it was time for her to leave the hospital and move to a nursing home. We all visited Pinglenook and instantly felt the warm caring attitude of the staff. We all agreed this was the place and so she became a guest
on her road to recovery. I cannot describe the care and compassion they have shown her. Nothing is too much trouble and although it can't be nice not being able to go home, she always tells us how lovely the staff are and she is happy. They have done so much for her in the short time she has been there and gets better by the day. It's like a big family unit there and just has a feel-good factor. I truly believe we found a gem for my mum. Well done to owner and staff and thank you so much.

When I was advised that Mum would need to go into a care home to recuperate from a broken leg I was traumatised. Mum lives with us and to trust her care with strangers was really hard to do.
Upon the first introduction to Pinglenook, the thing that struck me was how welcome I felt. Mum has been here
for nearly 14 weeks and no matter what time we popped in we were always made to feel welcome with a drink on offer in one hand and the biscuit tin in the other. All staff have been great, caring at all times with Mum and interaction with all residents being of a caring nature.
I have received full and open communication with all staff who provided precise information as and when required.
Thank you, you have made what has been a very difficult time a little easier with providing a safe, caring environment.

My mum has been in Pinglenook since December 2016 to recuperate from a broken knee. She has been well cared for. The staff are very efficient and friendly. It feels like a home from home and mum has been happy there. If she should need more residential care in the future I would have no worries about
her being placed in Pinglenook.

Mum spent approximately 15 months at Pinglenook. Being a small care home, the atmosphere was very homely and there was always something going on to liven up the day.
We always felt very welcome when visiting Mum, and felt she was in a safe and secure environment. Her health was monitored well by the
local GP and that was communicated to us promptly by the manager. Mum was always happy during her time there.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.902)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.902) out of 10 for Pinglenook Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.714 for Pinglenook Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (27 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.714
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.188 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pinglenook Residential Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 16 registered maximum number of service users is 3.2. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 3.2 = 0.938
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
