My dad spent one week at Bramwell House. We called every day and were mislead when told he was settled. It turned out when we spoke to the deputy that he had actually been very agitated and distressed for this time. The staff were unqualified to give the medication prescribed to my dad for this behaviour, although I was assured they were before he was admitted. Had I have been told the truth every day when I called I could have changed the situation and not left him to suffer like this for a week. He complained of being pushed around by men when he fell in the home and was admitted to hospital. The paramedics placed a safeguarding complaint into the authorities after hearing my dads complaints and seeing marks on his upper arms. Thankfully my dad is now safe and an investigation is ongoing. Before we left the car park after dropping dad off at Bramwell we received an email requesting one month's fees upfront. We feel very disappointed with the home and their communication with us.

My father in law was accepted to Bramwell House which was a massive worry to our family as we had been caring for him at home for many years. On arrival at Bramwell, we were informed there was covid in the home and he would be isolated for 14 days in his room after providing a negative test as part of his admission terms. On the second day, we were informed that he had been sitting in the communal lounge and had in fact been eating his meals in the dining room with other service users which alone caused us as a family a great deal of concern. Other issues arose during his week at Bramwell, including lack of qualified staff to administer prescribed medication, allegations of abuse from my father in law, and what I saw with my own eyes when he was in the ambulance after a fall. From knowing a very proud man for many years, the picture of him unkempt, dirty and very frightened will never leave me. He had been left on the floor for 6 hours and was blue with cold, not even a pair of socks on. Very bad.

My mum came to Bramwell at the start of the first lockdown in March, she was very confused and suffering from dementia and of course, I could not see her until recently. The staff have been absolutely brilliant cannot praise them enough. They are always very welcoming and answer any questions I may have and let me know by phone if I need to know anything. From the bits I have been able to see the home is brilliant looks very festive at the moment. It is like a top-class hotel.

Would like to say how caring and loving the management and staff were in the week that my mama stayed at Bramwell before she passed away a week later. They were so kind supportive to us and my mama and gave all the love and care she deserved nothing was to much trouble and always kept us up to date on Mama's wellbeing.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Bramwell Care Home. Mum spent her final 18 months here until she passed away in August, aged 99.
The care and compassion she received during her time there could not have been better.
The home manager and her team were always cheerful and friendly, and always took the time to answer our questions, no matter how busy they were.

It was a huge relief to our family to see that Mum was always smiling and cheerful when we visited. That said it all.

My husband went into Bramwell Care Home for 2 weeks respite, to give me a rest. I am his carer 24/7. I couldn't go inside because of Coronavirus. Even for a visit, we met outside. I found the staff very friendly and they gave my husband their best. He was clean, nicely dressed in his own clothes and not at all distressed each time I saw him, in fact he sang inside and outside. Such a relief for me to see he was OK - more than OK. For someone who's been married 62 years it wasn't easy to let go. I would be happy for my husband to go in there again.

Both my parents spent over 3 years at Bramwell. This home is outstanding and I will forever be grateful for the care they received, from the Manager to all her care staff. I was always welcomed like a friend. Anyone would be very lucky to spend their final days at Bramwell!

My Mum became a resident at Bramwell in October 2018. The love, care and dignity shown towards my Mum and all the residents is outstanding. My Mum was diagnosed with dementia in 2012 and had been living and receiving care in her own home so the move to Bramwell was incredibly emotional for all our family. From the beginning the care went beyond my Mum and in incredibly difficult circumstances Bramwell made the move as smooth and easy for all our family. My Mum settled immediately and to see her laughing, happy and living a full and contented life is priceless.

My Mum was given a palliative prognosis of 12 months in March 2019, I truly believe the love and care she receives consistently from everyone at Bramwell is the reason I still have my Mum. Bramwell will become your extended family and I cannot thank the wonderful staff enough.

It's hard to overstate how good the care service has been for the past three and a half years.

Mum was treated with the utmost kindness and concern for her welfare. Kitchen staff, cleaners, carers and management have treated me as a friend, along with my family too. This has made what could have been a rather difficult time, for the most part, an enjoyable experience.

My Mother lived at Bramwell for over three years now and has had the best time. She has received exceptional care both personal and care. From the Management down to the cleaners, everyone is very friendly and always very welcoming towards us Mum's family. In recent days Mum has become very weak and very poorly but the care she receives is excellent meeting her every need. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a special place to live for their loved ones. Thank you so much to all the staff and Management for making Mum's last days so very special. You will always be in our hearts.

My Mum can be very difficult but also very nice. But no matter how she is, staff show that they care, so she feels safe. There are lots of activities going on all the time which my Mum enjoys greatly. I can't thank her carer enough for how much care she has shown my Mum. Thanks, everyone.

The whole home works as a team even though who are not carers (e.g.cleaners) take great care and attention to the needs of each resident. My mother who was living alone has gaine a greater quality of life and made many friends and has had every need met. Communication with myself and family is very good, the home keeping us up to date on her health and wellbeing. This place is a joy to visit not only to see mym but to catch up with staff who have become friends.

The last couple of years there has been a considerable improvement in the atmosphere and cooperation between staff and residents. The staff have engaged with the residents on a regular basis which makes the resident feel far more settled and secure. The environment is very clean and spotless. My Godmother decided she needed to go into a home after struggling to manage after her discharge from the hospital. She was aware of Bramwell as a friend had stayed here. Since moving into Bramwell her appetite has improved and she is looking better in herself. She has also taken an interest in her appearance by having her hair and nails done.
