In all of our four months experience of Bramwell Care Home, since first visiting in October, the staff have been amazing. All so friendly, interested and cheerful. This has continued since our first introductory tour and we can see how attentive and caring they are every day. Additionally, there is
good continuity of staff and all seems well-organised.

I visited in December several times around Christmas. Staff work very hard and are kind and caring.
We also hired their room for my grandparent's birthday party and had a wonderful time.
We also bought the family dog and he was very well received.
He has tried another local home and has been much
happier since joining and staying at this home.

Mum came here Christmas Eve, welcomed by one staff member and the other carers who were very kind and patient on her first day. My dad, brother and myself have visited regularly. I have seen nothing but kindness and attentiveness to Mum and the other residents. Massive thank you to all as this is Mum's
home now.

We are extremely pleased with the care being received. The staff are caring and manage his dementia well. He seems happy there and, to our knowledge, there are plenty of activities and outings. The home is clean and unlike other homes I have visited there is no malodour. The other residents seem happy
and well cared for and the staff are friendly and approachable. There is always someone available to discuss any aspects of his care.

It is a lovely place, staff are all friendly and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. They look after my mum very well.
The home is always clean and tidy. I have never seen it untidy.
They have various activities for residents to join in each day and also have activities every so often for
the family to come and join in.
I would be happy being looked after here when I am older.

I found Bramwell Care Home for a family whose father I cared for over the last seven years. I have also worked in care homes over the years. Bramwell is immaculately clean and always smells wonderful, the staff are patient, kind and treat all the residents with utmost respect and dignity. The home has
many activities for the residents to join in or not and always offers you a cup of tea and cake. I can only rate it five stars as it's one of the loveliest care homes in Nottinghamshire.

After working in a care home myself, unfortunately, I had to leave as what I witnessed over time upset me and I vowed my father would never go into one. The time came recently for this to be and I found Bramwell! Perfect in every way! It is more like a hotel than a home. The manager has a fantastic
ethic and is on the ball in every aspect. All staff are kind, encouraging and empathetic, to not only the residents but also to family. My father is happy, therefore I am too!

Before my mum went into Bramwell Care Home we viewed several other establishments and following up on recommendations to this establishment, we were impressed with the overall look and feel, not only of the premises, but to the staff's attitude. Because of my mum's dementia, a proper reflection of what
she had done and participated in only came to light via staff acknowledgement and photos in the activities book. Overall, care and attention to detail by staff was beyond our expectations and we can only thank them for making my mum's last few months what it was.

Mum continues to be cared for as if she was one of their own. The kindness shown is second to none and all carers do their utmost to ensure my elderly mum is comfortable, feels safe, and is stimulated by daily, varied activities. This ethos can only be generated by brilliant management, which Bramwell
has. Recently Mum was admitted to hospital and they spotted the problems early so that she was successfully treated. We couldn't wish for a better home from home for Mum.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.957)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.957) out of 10 for Bramwell Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 108 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 108 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.957 for Bramwell Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (1238 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 1291 Ratings = 4.957
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bramwell Care Home is based on 108 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 93 registered maximum number of service users is 18.6, which has been reached with 108 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Maryam Bonelli

Job Title: Care Team Leader Joined: 2020

I’m Maryam, and I have been working at Bramwell as a care team leader since 2020. I am Bramwell’s Safeguarding Champion, and I take pride in advocating for our residents and ensuring that all staff and families are aware of our safeguarding practices to create a safer and more supportive environment for everyone.

Aside from working at Bramwell, I enjoy doing activities with my daughter – every Saturday is our mother-daughter date! I also have a good time inviting my friends over for a get-together.

I’m Abdullah, and I have proudly been part of the Bramwell team for nearly four years. During this time, I have grown from a dedicated care assistant into a confident Care Team Leader, gaining experience in supporting residents, guiding staff, and contributing to the smooth running of the home. Bramwell has given me countless new experiences, and I continue to grow every day through strong leadership, support, and guidance.

I take great pride in my role and readily embrace additional responsibilities that support the team and enhance resident care. I am passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred support and building trusting relationships with residents and their families. Working closely with my colleagues is something I truly value, and supporting my team is a core part of how I work.

What I enjoy most about Bramwell is making a meaningful difference in residents’ lives while being part of a warm, well-led, and supportive team. Whether through compassionate care, teamwork, or reassuring families, every day gives me the chance to contribute positively.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, cooking, and exploring new places. I like staying active, learning new things, and taking on challenges that help me grow personally and professionally. I am proud to be part of Bramwell, where I feel valued, trusted, and inspired to be my best every day.
