Meet the Team (11)

Welcome to Bramwell Care Home, we are a beautiful, friendly care home in Bramcote/Chilwell Village. My name is Mable, I have vast experience in Health and Social Care as a Manager. My team and I do not compromise the care we give to our residents; we strive to provide excellent care at all times to the highest standards. We promote the values of person-centred care to all our residents, ensuring that they are always treated with dignity and respect. We operate an open door policy where you can visit us and take a look around at any time.

My name is Thoufeek Backer, and I have been a dedicated member of the team at Bramwell for the past four years. Starting my career as a care assistant, I quickly gained the trust and belief of my manager, which led to my promotion to Senior Care Team Leader. I have since been promoted further to Deputy Manager. In my role, I assist with the day-to-day running of the home, and I thrive on the challenge and responsibility that come with it. I enjoy pushing myself to grow and learn more, and the strong teamwork around me helps me achieve my goals.
I like to keep the atmosphere light-hearted, often joking with the team—though sometimes I end up in a little bit of trouble for it! Outside of work, I enjoy reading books, exploring new experiences, and spending quality time playing with my son.

I’m Chacko, Home Administrator at Bramwell, where I’ve proudly served for nearly four years. My role allows me to make a real difference—ensuring residents feel cared for and families have peace of mind. Contributing to their well-being is what I find most rewarding.
I hold two postgraduate degrees and bring a strong sense of responsibility and discipline to my work—qualities inspired by my childhood dream of becoming an army officer.
Outside of work, I love the freedom of solo long-distance bike rides and enjoy spending time with friends. Life, to me, is about balance: meaningful work, adventure, and connection.

I’m Kat, and I have been Bramwell’s receptionist for almost two years. In a short amount of time, I have become well-versed in the home’s daily operations. I adore being part of a supportive team where every member is valued and one where we can all work together to provide the best care.
Outside of work, I study medieval and Russian history and maintain a lifelong interest in Tolkien and the Elder Scrolls.

I’m Adrian, and I’ve been working as the Maintenance Man at Bramwell for 11 months. I take great pride in making the residents happy by fixing anything they ask me to do, and I enjoy spending time chatting with them. I appreciate the teamwork at Bramwell, where all the staff work together to create a positive environment. Building relationships with the residents and their families is something I truly value, and I’m committed to keeping the home safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Outside of work, I’m an enthusiast of bike rides, motorbikes, and fancy cars—always enjoying the thrill and freedom they bring.

I really enjoy being part of the Bramwell team that puts dignity and well-being at the heart of everything we do. At Bramwell, there’s a culture of compassion. I love to spend time with our residents and make them smile and laugh, learning memories, and know that the care and kindness make them valued and respected. Working in Bramwell gives me the chance to promote respect, inclusion and to see the positive impact on everyone.
Outside of work, I love to dance, read books, spend time with my children, and experience new experiences in designing.

I am Efa, and I have been serving as a Care Team Leader for the past 1 year and 8 months. My role has been both challenging and rewarding, providing me with opportunities to grow in character, decision-making, and in my interactions with staff, families, and others. I am passionate about making a meaningful difference in people's lives, and I take pride in my work.
As a Dementia Champion, I have been able to lead initiatives that focus on improving care and supporting residents. I am especially proud of achieving the Excellence in Residence Experiences 2024 award, which highlights the impact of our work. However, I do feel disappointed at times when I fail to execute as well as I’d like, but I use it as motivation to improve.
In my personal time, I enjoy reading, watching documentaries, and helping vulnerable people in any way I can.

I am Afzal, and I started working at Bramwell in 2022. My role gives me great satisfaction as I enjoy my responsibilities and my meaningful interactions with residents and their families. I am known for being responsive and efficient whilst maintaining a light-hearted and comforting atmosphere.
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking for my friends and family and travelling the country with them.

I’m Maryam, and I have been working at Bramwell as a care team leader since 2020. I am Bramwell’s Safeguarding Champion, and I take pride in advocating for our residents and ensuring that all staff and families are aware of our safeguarding practices to create a safer and more supportive environment for everyone.
Aside from working at Bramwell, I enjoy doing activities with my daughter – every Saturday is our mother-daughter date! I also have a good time inviting my friends over for a get-together.

I’m Abdullah, and I have proudly been part of the Bramwell team for nearly four years. During this time, I have grown from a dedicated care assistant into a confident Care Team Leader, gaining experience in supporting residents, guiding staff, and contributing to the smooth running of the home. Bramwell has given me countless new experiences, and I continue to grow every day through strong leadership, support, and guidance.
I take great pride in my role and readily embrace additional responsibilities that support the team and enhance resident care. I am passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred support and building trusting relationships with residents and their families. Working closely with my colleagues is something I truly value, and supporting my team is a core part of how I work.
What I enjoy most about Bramwell is making a meaningful difference in residents’ lives while being part of a warm, well-led, and supportive team. Whether through compassionate care, teamwork, or reassuring families, every day gives me the chance to contribute positively.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, cooking, and exploring new places. I like staying active, learning new things, and taking on challenges that help me grow personally and professionally. I am proud to be part of Bramwell, where I feel valued, trusted, and inspired to be my best every day.

My name is Stephen. I joined Bramwell as a care assistant in 2023, and now I work as one of the care team leaders. The culture of Bramwell is one of positivity and inclusiveness, and I am proud to work with my colleagues as we strive to provide high-quality care for all our residents.
When I am not working, I enjoy watching football and spending time with my friends.
