Sutton Manor Residential Home is a lovely welcoming home well suited to the needs of forty-five residents, with some dual occupancy rooms also available.

Carers look to maintain a good social atmosphere while encouraging residents in the pursuit of an active and fulfilling lifestyle, with all dietary needs met and evening events that relatives and loved ones can join in with. The activities coordinator offers a wide programme ranging from gardening either outdoors or in the greenhouse, knitting, sewing, craft, games and movement to music. Should residents require a little pampering, there is a hairdressers and chiropodist.

Pets are welcome in the home. Current pets include Snowy & Lilly the rabbits.

Shorter respite care requirements are also handled by skilled carers, while Sutton Manor is an excellent environment in which to feel at home throughout a retirement.

Would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Sutton Manor for the care and support they give our brother. The home is always clean, tidy and welcoming. Our brother enjoys interacting with the staff and residents. Recently, they did a Christmas dinner evening, which my elder brother and I attended
- what a great night with lovely food and entertainment, plus the staff were great at looking after us all. Thank you for all you are doing.

On Wednesday 28 December 2023, my other brother and I attended the Manor post-Christmas evening event.
I would just like to say many thanks to your staff for a wonderful evening with good food and excellent entertainment.
The members of staff excelled
themselves with their good humour and attention to residents and visitors alike.
We all felt most welcome.

Mother was transferred to Sutton Manor from hospital earlier this month where she was admitted after a fall at home and spending 9 hours overnight on the floor. At the age of 96 she was beginning to get very despondent. To add to her low mood just before she discharged from hospital her house was severely
damaged by a water leak, making her home unlivable. At this point she seemed to be giving up.
Within a couple of days in Sutton Manor her mood changed completely and she’s back to her normal self. After I visited her yesterday I can see why, the staff are brilliant and do everything they can to make the residents stay happy, enjoyable and above all a safe experience.
I can’t thank Sutton Manor and its staff enough for their excellent care.

The staff are kind to Mum, are gentle with her, hold her hand, take their time. This gives her comfort. She likes the food and her room is comfortable and always clean.
The staff go out of their way to be helpful and visitors are always welcome. Knowing Mum has good care is important to her family.

My mum has spent a few weeks in the care of Sutton Manor Care Home. Initially I was reluctant to agree to this, but given her level of disability and limited mobility, I realised that a care setting would be the most appropriate as they have the correct equipment to support non weight bearing patients.
Almost immediately I saw a change in my mum, she seemed brighter, happier and far more coherent than she had been previously. In fact, I will go as far as to say I don't believe I have seen my mum so content in decades. The care, support, company and activities are excellent, extra touches such as a salon, pub nights etc. add that extra depth of normality. I thank everyone at Sutton Manor from the bottom of my heart for the support they have given to my mum, it means so much to me to visit Mum and see her face glowing with happiness. The videos of her partaking in leisure activities shows how much she has changed during her time there. Sleeping and bathing facilities are great too!

After looking round many care homes, we finally found one we loved. Straight away, we were welcomed as a family. The home was clean and tidy. There was entertainment going on. Since admission, my mother has settled and loves it. She has made some lovely friends, and she enjoys the food. We take her
out some days, but she always loves to get back to Sutton Manor.

My father moved into Sutton Manor just before Xmas 2022. He went in for respite care after the death of my mother. He settled very well, despite the circumstances. The staff are amazing. He is well looked after.

In my opinion, this care home is second to none. First and foremost, any care home is only as good as the management and staff that run it. I found both to be excellent. My mum is very happy here and that is important, as it gives me peace of mind that she is receiving the best care possible. I would

My sister has been at Sutton Manor since March 2020; she has dementia and other mental health issues. Everyone at the care home is fantastic, and they haven't had the easiest of times with her, but they have gone above and beyond looking after her. They have always kept me informed about her progress;
she loves her music, she loves dancing, the home takes photos of her, and she looks so happy.
I can't thank Sutton Manor enough; everyone at the home are true angels and worth their weight in gold. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The following carers made my visit to see mt aunty a pleasure, particularly after driving a long way. Three particular carers all assisted myself and Aunty greatly, as I have been registered disabled and have some difficulties. (Visited my aunty of Sunday 19th June 2022).

I have enjoyed my time at Sutton Manor. It is a very nice place to live. I will certainly be back. The staff are friendly, and the manager is always about. I will certainly come back for holidays. Lovely place to live.

Cannot fault the excellent care my sister received in her recent care in her two months stay in this home. She loved it the staff were excellent and did everything in their power to make her feel welcome in every way. Food was good, hygiene very good, cleanliness excellent, the family gives it top marks,

I have been very happy with my mum's treatment at Sutton Manor, except for the lack of showering and physiotherapy she has received. Mum has been happy with the staff and food within the home. I have found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. I understand that some of the problems are caused by
lack of staff, probably caused by Covid, and I think they all work very hard.

I am very sorry that you didn't feel the showers were regular enough or the physio in-depth enough. The family are extremely happy with the care home and all the staff working there. Our mother is treated with respect and dignity. The home is kept in first-class order, and the food is both nutritious and appetising. The addition of new visiting hubs during 2021 made visiting a real pleasurable experience
for residents and family alike. We cannot praise this care home and all its staff highly enough.

Thank you, Sutton Manor, for giving Mum a new lease of life coping with her illness. Though I haven't been able to be in the home, I have watched her blossom every week in the tea rooms. I would like to give one member of staff a special thank you. But all the staff are amazing.

It’s lovely to see how happy my mum is and she talks about her new friends all the time. She always looks clean and cared for. I cannot thank you enough. My mum was in Sutton Manor for approximately 5 weeks earlier this year following a fall. During her time there, the home managed to lose her dentures, her glasses and most of her clothing. She fell whilst in the home and was admitted to hospital, not due to an injury sustained as a result of her fall
but due to her being dehydrated. The manager phoned me and asked me to pick mum's belongings up as they could not keep her room open for her whilst she was in the hospital, which I understood. However, on looking through mum's belongings they had returned I noted that her dentures and glasses were missing together with most of her clothes. My mum is a size 16/18 and clothes that were returned were size 10/12. I went to the home to speak to the manager about the missing dentures and glasses and she was totally unaware, all I got was a shrug of the shoulders. To date, I have not received an apology or an offer of compensation for the loss of her belongings.

Mum has been at Sutton Manor for five years now. She is very settled at the home and enjoys many of the activities on offer. She joins in with most things and has even been out on a couple of trips which is something we find hard to persuade her to do. Staff know her very well, and are kind, caring
and love to have a laugh. They do such an amazing job, and it is clear they care about the residents in their care. Mum enjoys getting her hair done and always says 'yes please' to the chocolate snacks! The environment is homely, has a family feel even though its residents are often changing and it is always clean. The outdoor area is comfortable and attractive, though we don't get Mum out there very often. Social dining helps residents chat with one another and if we are there at mealtimes we often get offered a cup of tea! There is a great variety of menus, and food always looks appetising. Mum's room is cosy. During the Coronavirus pandemic, staff went above and beyond in their efforts. Thank you.

Karen is the registered manager of Sutton Manor, part of the Ashmere Notts Group. She has worked for Ashmere for well over a decade but has previously worked a multitude of care roles before her arrival with us.
