My sister has been in Avonleigh Gardens for 11 weeks for respite and I have found the place clean and tidy and the staff are very caring and always up for a laugh. My sister is very comfortable there.


The staff are very sensitive to her needs and are willing to oblige her.

Mum passed away in November. She was happy at the home and had lived there for nine years. I was happy with the service and she was treated with total care, dignity and respect from all the staff.


What I could not understand was nobody from the home came to her funeral. I had left a message with

a care worker, but this must have been overlooked, I was very upset about this.

My mother in law has been a resident for 3.5 years until her death. We have observed staff responding with patience and respect to the different needs of residents. The staff learned our names and made us feel part of the family. As needs changed they consulted us and suggested ways to improve her quality
of life.


Her room was comfortable, warm and clean. The staff cared for her personal hygiene and selection of clothes and her appearance. The food was well prepared and adapted to meet her needs. Regular meetings for relations were open to ideas for improving the care. Mother in law enjoyed the weekly worship with the chaplain and the activities provided by entertainment.


During the last weeks of her life, the staff ensured her comfort insisting on support from the GP and community nurses when needed.They put in extra resources for her and staffing to ensure the smooth running of the home whilst caring for our needs as we spent precious time with her.

I feel that the layout of the downstairs does not lend itself to being easily accessed from lounge to lounge for my Mother, who whilst ambulant, walks very slowly with a Zimmer frame. The corridors are long and all rooms lead on to the corridors which makes identification difficult again for my Mother
who is registered blind and is 93yrs of age. The staff are very helpful and assist as well as they are able but due to the number of other residents with more pressing needs they are always fully occupied. My recommending it or not would depend on the capabilities of the prospective service user.

My father has been a resident at this home for some months. His care has been excellent and we have seen vast improvements in his health since he moved there.
Last weekend he lost his wallet which was subsequently found in the washing complete with all his cash intact.
We are very grateful to all
the staff and am sure that dads care is in good hands. I additionally find the home well run, clean and good at providing a mentally stimulating environment for older people.

I find the location and staff very efficient and provide excellent care for my relative, I have always been treated with courtesy on the occasions of my visits and the standard of care for my relative is considered to be completely satisfactory.

My Mother has been in Avonleigh Gardens for over 4 years and we have always been confident that she is being well looked after and receiving excellent care. The staff are pleasant and the food is first class. Each room has its own bathroom and call system for peace of mind. (My Mother is prone to falling).
First class records are kept monitoring the residents care and these are immediately available to look at in each room.
I would recommend Avonleigh to anyone looking for top quality care for their loved ones.

My grandma has been in Avonleigh for over 3 years and the care she receives is excellent. She has severe dementia and can't look after herself, but the staff at Avonleigh give me the confidence to know that all her needs are cared for.

My mum has been in Avonleigh Gardens Care for over three years. I would like to thank the manager and all the staff for my mums care. The food is excellent and the home is welcoming and clean.
The staff are caring and even when my mum was a really high falls risk, the manager was very approachable
and took measures to make sure my mum was kept safe. Thank you everyone at Avonleigh.

Mum has settled into Avonleigh Gardens a lot better than we ever thought would be possible. She is 93 years old and has always lived at home and we thought the transition to a care home would be very distressing for both Mum and the family, how wrong we were. The care she receives is excellent. She
is always clean and dressed well, as she was at home. Her diet is maintained to a standard she received at home also. Her room is exactly as she would have it at home with pictures of her family all around her. We visit most days and are always greeted with a smile from the carers. All the staff without exception go above and beyond to make sure Mum is looked after and cared for meeting all her daily needs.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home as in our opinion it is simply the best. From a very grateful family member.

I was recommended this home for my Nana by a friend whose relative had been very well cared for at Avonleigh Gardens.
My Nana moved in in January and settled in quickly, this was due to the warmth, compassion, care and patience she was receiving from the staff and how her room was. She was happy she
had her own belongings in her room but happy with the layout and the beautiful gardens at the back.
The manager is very approachable and all the staff and management are dedicated and caring.
I have peace of mind knowing my Nana is safe and that she's not alone as there's people to talk to and things to do.
I'm glad we've found a home that meets my Nana's needs and I am extremely grateful for the care she receives, she says she is happy, knowing that makes me feel happy.
The Home is clean, has a good variety of meals, a hair salon, a reflexologist who visits a few times a week, religious services if residents want to attend and activities to do.
It's definitely been a positive experience.

This is a beautiful & well run care and nursing home. The manager plus all the staff even to maintenance are a credit to the home. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the care respect and dignity they give all the residents is second to none. Plenty of activities if residents want to partake inside
and out in the secluded and safe garden or they can just stay in bed if they want!! Meals all freshly made with local produce by the home chefs and excellent quality. All rooms with en suite.

I would have no hesitation to recommend the home to family and friends. In fact a number of the new residence are as a direct recommendation from us as a family. They have a good knowledge and understanding of the residence needs and they are all treated as individuals. The management particularly
handle any concerns with so much understanding and a professional manner. The staff are a credit to the home.
