We reviewed several homes before we chose Birkenhead Court, as the overall package was far superior to the others. Since my mother has been at the home, the staff looking after her have been excellent, especially when she fell over and injured herself. The care she received was second to none. The home itself is always clean. The food is always excellent and varied. I would recommend the home to everyone. Now my mother has settled in, she is happy, has her own room, and we as a family are impressed with the service.

My father has been at Birkenhead Court now for 3 months. I didn’t think he would ever accept any kind of care but the staff have done everything to make it feel like his home and he loves it.
From the first time we looked around and every day since we as a family have been made to feel welcome and part of his care. I feel that staff genuinely care about the residents and get to know them.
Dad spends a lot of his time in the lovely garden and has already been on a few outings.

I would highly recommend Birkenhead Court to anyone looking for residential care of a person with dementia.

I found the home to be the perfect place for my mum. She was well looked after and cared for. The staff were always courteous and friendly and professional, as were the management team. My mum was happy there. I can't thank all of them enough for how well they looked after my mum. The home was always clean and well looked after.

On the day that my mum arrived at Birkenhead Court Care Home, our family were made welcome by all the staff and management. During her time there, Mum enjoyed the vast array of daily activities, entertainment and outings. There was always something to look forward to and a very happy, loving atmosphere was felt at each visit. There was excellent communication/updates from staff to family. My mum has now passed away, my family and I will be forever grateful for the love and care from all staff.

Birkenhead Court is, in my opinion, a friendly, well-organised and caring home.

Over the past two years, with all of my visits unannounced, I have always been pleased with the care and attention received by my mother. And she continues to be happy, content and settled. Long may it continue and thank you.

Since moving here full-time, Mum has been treated with dignity and respect. All staff are trained in dementia and it's so good to see the same faces every day. All staff are friendly, kind and respectful and show so much kindness and compassion to the residents, it really is refreshing. We have experienced so many carers in previous care homes, extra care housing and independent living where carers were in the wrong job and others who really didn't have a clue about dementia. I feel like I now have my life back and can concentrate on my children again knowing Mum is content and happy here.

My mother came to Birkenhead Court Care Home in August 2022. She came from another care home where she'd lived there for six months. We (the family) were asked to find another home as they couldn't fulfil our mother's needs.

The care that Mum received at Birkenhead Court showed through the staffs kindness and caring. She was not always easy to deal with, yet staff handled her feistiness with patience and calm. So I am grateful that Mum could end her days being looked after so compassionately.

When we moved Mum to Birkenhead Court, we were immediately impressed. From the manager, the office staff the handyman, to the care staff, everyone was friendly, professional and caring. Despite Mum being quite challenging at times, she was always well cared for and her needs were met with kindness and compassion. The staff were flexible and thoughtful, letting Mum have the freedom to choose what she wanted to do. They interacted so well with all the residents, putting on a wide range of appropriate activities to engage and stimulate them, from art to quizzes to reminiscing sessions. As Mum's health deteriorated, everyone at the home showed nothing but kindness to her and the family who sat with her over her final days. We were so grateful for the end-of-life support that Mum and family received from the staff, it was exemplary.

We, as a family, were very reluctant to put our mum into a home; she had always been a very independent woman, extremely fit and able. Mum went into a room overlooking the lovely garden, and we put several of her ornaments there, so it was like home-from-home. She settled really well, which surprised us all. The staff couldn't be more caring, checking whether Mum needed anything or wanted a cup of tea. They even noticed that Mum was trying to talk to residents and not getting a response, so they moved Mum to a unit where they were more talkative, and Mum settled really well. When Mum had to go into hospital and sadly nothing could be done, Birkenhead Court took Mum back and gave her end-of-life care, where they looked after Mum brilliantly, and the three of us made sure we were fed and watered. The management and staff at this care home have been amazing, and we are so grateful for all the care and love that you gave to our lovely mum.

We tried so hard to care for mum at home and it was a difficult decision to place her into residential care. However, we needn't have worried, the staff were all so caring and interested in mum and us as a family from day 1. She had a lovely room that we filled with things from home and she could look out onto the well-kept garden from her room. Mum had constant care and company and far from hating it, she actually thrived in the short time she was there. Mum had to go into hospital and when she only needed palliative care Birkenhead court agreed to look after her in her final days. They were so kind and caring, not only to mum, but to the whole family and we were able to visit as often and for as long as we were able. We will always be grateful for the kindness and care they showed to us all.

Birkenhead Court is a great home. My mum needs more care, and the family is unable to provide for her needs. We are updated regularly and have access when we need it. Mum is thriving and happy in an environment of love and care.

We couldn’t be happier. Thank you.

My mother, who has recently passed away in Birkenhead Court after being a resident there for over 4 years, could not have experienced a better or higher quality of care than that which she was given in this home.
As I live some 3 hours drive away from the home, I was not available to visit as often as I would have liked. However, the superb care and the constant communication I received put my mind totally at ease. A great pressure was removed from me as I knew confidently that my mother was in safe hands and this has been shown as she did not die of COVID and there is no COVID in the home. This, I feel is one of the greatest accolades that proves what a well run, welcoming, caring and responsible home Birkenhead Court is.

I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I was very anxious about leaving my Dad for a week's care in Birkenhead Court. I had nothing to worry about. All staff was so courteous, kind and caring and I know my Father would have got up numerous times in the night, looking for my Mother. The staff reassured him everything would be ok and he settled very well. I would thoroughly recommend Birkenhead Court and will place Dad in there again.

My mum is resident and there has not been one minute when she has been upset at being resident.
The rooms are lovely and the staff are excellent, friendly and approachable.
The food is prepared on site and is lovely.
There is tremendous interaction between the residents and the staff with memory games.
Mum was taken to Blackpool to see the lights and have a fish supper and at Christmas, I lost count of how many Christmas Parties mum went too.
There is a wonderful hairdressing and beauty service available.

Birkenhead Court was a God send to the family at a time when we had looked at so many and we were fearful because we never believed we would find anywhere like Birkenhead Court.

As the husband of a resident, 3 years 7 months, I have found Birkenhead Court to be perfect for my wife. My only observation is the laundry service which I feel could be improved.
