Fantastic care, the staff are so welcoming and helpful. I would recommend this home to anyone who needs their parents or family members looking after. My mother loves it here and I love the way she is looked after as if she is part of a big family there. Everybody working is so understanding of both
my mothers needs and of the family's needs, wonderful place I would give it 10/10.

Excellent staff, they treat Mum like a family member. The residents are given a voice to decide what to do by way of a resident/relatives meeting. When I leave her after a visit, I know she is safe and being well looked after.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, Mum associates the staff and

other residents as a part of her own family.

I was very apprehensive about putting my father into care but was put at ease with the help of the manager and staff. Nothing has been too much trouble and he is settling in nicely. Staff are very friendly and treat everyone with friendliness and patience.

My husband has had 2 x2 weeks respite care at Birkenhead Court and he has been very happy and well cared for both times. The staff and management are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The standard of cleanliness is very good and there are plenty of activities to do if you so
wish. Knowing he is happy to go back for more respite willingly shows he is happy and I shall have no hesitation in doing so for respite or long-term and have recommended it to other carers I know.

My sister and I were very happy that our mother was able to get a place at Birkenhead Court after a period in hospital. Birkenhead Court was so much nicer than other care home facilities that we looked at. A pleasant, modern, purpose-built unit with a well-kept garden, well-appointed rooms with easy
access (no stairs or steps). Smart and efficient management, pleasant and caring staff. Plenty of activities and services in-house (hair care, chiropody etc) also a quiet lounge for those who did not wish to participate in group activities. We couldn't really have expected our mother to have been better cared for in the declining last three years of her life.

The care my mum receives at Birkenhead Court is fantastic. Her every need is catered for quickly and promptly. All the staff show genuine care for my mum, they are very tactile which is something my mum loves it makes her feel safe and secure.
Mum is always clean and well fed, nothing she needs is
any trouble. I can visit at any time and always made to feel welcome. The managers at Birkenhead Court are always available and always listen to my views.
I can only describe management and staff as truly dedicated.

My family and I are delighted we chose Birkenhead Court for my wife's care and are very satisfied with the way in which she is being treated. She has Alzheimers and suffers many changes of mood including occasional bouts of violence. The staff are always compassionate and treat her with TLC when this
happens. They tell me not to worry about them as this is part of their job, which they all seem to love.
Friends who have visited have also remarked in the excellent facilities, the food and general overall appearance.
I have every confidence in leaving my wife in their care.

This is a well-run care home, where all the staff care about the residents, family are welcomed at all times and actively encouraged to discuss the needs of their family member. Despite the use of protocols and procedures, the care team responded to my Mum's and her family's needs with compassion, care, understanding and indeed love. They respected our need to spend time with our Mum at the end of her life but were always there when needed, even when we didn't realise that
we needed them. They worked as a team, all of the time and got it absolutely right. In these days of litigation and complaints it was so reassuring to experience the use of sensitive common sense, they got it right for my Mum and her family. Thank you

My parents were cared for at Birkenhead Court over a four-year period. During my visits I was always impressed with the care and compassion the staff showed to my parents and other residents. The staff were friendly, approachable and above all really did care. The staff were also thoughtful about the
relatives and always made them feel welcome. I would be more than happy to recommend Birkenhead Court to anyone looking for a residential home on the Wirral.

Since mum moved into Birkenhead Court she has gained weight, so is more stable on her feet, and she is doing really well. She's happy and I know she is safe and is being well cared for. All the staff are lovely with the residents and mum always looks clean and well dressed. There is always something
going on at the home be it singers or entertainers and mum has a better social life me. They go our on trips which mum enjoys. I can't speak highly enough of the care mum is receiving, from the staff at Birkenhead Court and we are so grateful.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.699)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.699) out of 10 for Birkenhead Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.699 for Birkenhead Court is calculated as follows: ( (258 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 332 Ratings = 4.699
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Birkenhead Court is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
