All the staff at Birchfield are approachable, very friendly yet always respectful towards the families of residents. All staff have always shown a caring attitude towards mum and have given her great support in all aspects of her life at Birchfield. She always felt safe and she loved the food! Many parts of the home have been re-decorated recently and this has enhanced the overall appearance- this is appreciated by the residents.

My mother spent just under 18 months at Birchfield Residential Care Home until the end of her life. I only ever saw her treated with dignity and respect and the friendly banter she enjoyed. With good food and company she thrived until she became ill. It was at this time, good timely medical care was given to alleviate discomfort but I also observed genuine love and empathy in her nursing care. At the end I could not have been looked after any better. I am full of prise for this care home and would recommend their care to everyone.

Mum had been unwell for a number of years and we were at a stage where we could not keep her safe. Our family was very distressed and visiting at least 6 care homes did not instil confidence - in fact is made us feel much worse - until we visited Birchfield.
At Birchfield we found people who generally cared about their residents, were professionl and offered support not only to mum, but to the rest of our family as well!

To this day we still go to Birchfield, Easter fairs etc. Our family feel this is the least we can do to repay their kindness and help - we will never forget that they cared for our precious mum - Thank you Birchfield.

Just like to say a big thank you to the staff and chef for all their hard work on Christmas Day.

The family of residents were invited to join their relatives for Christmas dinner. Although I was eating Christmas dinner later with friends I had a lovely piece of salmon whilst my mum, ate her Christmas dinner, which mum really enjoyed.

Happy New Year to all
