If all care homes were like this it would be amazing. This is a lovely place for my sister to be living. The staff are amazing and the home is spotless.

The staff have always been helpful and kind, and my sister loved to interact with them. She has recently enjoyed singing and dancing and going out again. Sometimes, I think more staff at night should be available as my sister has often wet the bed because the carer was too busy.

My wife receives excellent care at Broadacres. I am confident that all her care needs are met by all the staff who treat her as their own family. I would certainly recommend Broadacres to anyone looking for care of their loved ones.

Broadacres welcomed my mum in September this year, she was at a crisis point with her dementia, and my dad was struggling to cope. The home manager was friendly, approachable and welcoming, and she helped make a very difficult situation a lot more straightforward.

The staff are wonderful and take good care of my mum, and are all very familiar with my mum's wants and needs. I live a few hours away from the home, so the communication from the home is very reassuring. Mum came as emergency respite, and is now there permanently and has settled in well.

I feel all my husband's needs are being met. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff are very understanding of all my needs too. Didn't want my husband to go in care and didn't know what to expect, but feel happy about his care and support. He always looks clean and tidy.

Dad was placed at Broadacres after discharge from the hospital. Unfortunately, he did not receive the care needed for his injuries as the staff were not trained to attend to his needs. Knowing this, the care home should not have accepted dad as a resident. The home itself is tired and dated but some basic standards are overlooked e.g. staff/residents are allowed to smoke next to the door of the lounge where the smoke blows back inside. The green space where residents sit outside is untidy and dirty. I was constantly pointing out dad's care needs.

We take all feedback seriously and were dismayed to read your comments about the care your dad received. We don’t have a record of any formal complaint made by yourself, could we call you to discuss things in more detail?

We work alongside social workers and the hospital to ensure that all...

My Dear Mom has been a resident at Broadacres since Dec 2019. From the moment you walk through the door you sense a genuine home from home atmosphere. The staff/carers are amazing, approachable and treat my Mom as they would their own. When we visit her she is always happy and smiling and I wouldn't wish her to be anywhere else!

My mum is visiting Broadacres for two weeks respite. The care she has had has been outstanding. The staff are all very caring and look after my mum as if she were their own. We were all very apprehensive about leaving Mum for the first time, but our minds were quickly put at rest when we visited the next day and saw how settled she was. A special thank you to two ladies, who my mum has developed a bond with; they have been wonderful.

Since my mother came to Broadacres a few months ago, she's been like a new woman. She seems happy and has started gaining weight. She also appears much smarter in appearance, and this suggests she's getting the care she needs.

The staff are very good with everything, nothing is too much trouble. They also have a lot of fun with everyone, making them laugh. The meals are really good. I would recommend this care home to everyone. I can't fault it in any way. My mother is very happy here.

Since my parent-in-law first came to Broadacres two months ago, they have been met with kindness and compassion by all staff. They and other residents are treated with dignity and our concerns are dealt with as soon as they are raised. We know, through conversations with staff, that care is being reviewed on an ongoing basis and that all staff are vigilant of changing and increasing care requirements.

Review from S M (Friend of Resident) published on 14 June 2018 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Our friend whose 89 was taken in for respite with severe bed sores and M.S. Staff have been helpful and friendly and they do seem to care. Her bedsores have improved markedly with the regular bed turning routine.

Concerns: The initial involvement between home/her GP/the homes district nurse seems to have been resolved now.

Her diet at times has been somewhat unappetising - reduced to a mush when she can eat soft foods.

Dear Syd Moyle

Thank you very much for your kind review of your Friend M.S.

In regards to the initial involvement with the GP Surgery and the District Nursing Team, if you would at any time like to talk in more depth about the issues, then please contact me at any point....
