I think Glen Rosa is the most wonderful place! My aunty lives in Kitwood and whenever I visit I'm ALWAYS so impressed by the love, care, and attention given by all the staff to the residents.

My husband has been at the care home for 6 months now. He was admitted urgently so we had no knowledge of the home or what to expect. However we have not regretted the decision. The care staff have worked really hard to improve some of the worst aspects of his degenerative neurological condition and have been kind and caring throughout. it has been a steep learning curve for me but both management and staff have been have been very sympathetic and approachable. Things like being able to visit whenever I want and the fact that there is a resident moggie make all the difference.

Thank you so much for your review, we realise the challenges and turmoil that families have to face prior to admission to the care environment. We strive to make the transition as smooth as we can, the staff try to work closely with the families to include them in all aspects of their care.

Overall Experience

My mother is a resident in Kitwood House, the dementia unit at Glen Rosa, she has lived there for 18 months, is very settled and tells me that she is happy. She is treated with courtesy, kindness and good humour by the well trained, excellent care staff who are always willing to spend time with her. The environment is stimulating and welcoming and there is easy access to a very pleasant, secure garden. Well planned activities are provided several times a week and there is often a musical focus which my mother particularly enjoys. The home is well run and managed, bedrooms are a good size with en-suite facilities and families are encouraged to create familiar surroundings for their relatives.

Thank you for your review, your mum has settled really well into Kitwood, she involves herself with most of the activities, a lovely sociable lady

When I had to put my beloved husband in a home because I simply couldn't cope any more at home (he has vascular dementia and alzheimer's) I was heartbroken..
It is awful to say your husband can't come home any more.

Glen Rosa, and especially the Kitwood Wing staff have helped me so much, putting up with my crying all over them etc. and they have been kindness itself to my husband. He is as contented as I could have hoped, and I'm very grateful.
