Willersley House is a lovely, caring & friendly home. Mum was only here from Nov 16 - Jan 17, but the staff made her last couple of months more bearable and comfortable. When we visited Mum the staff made us feel very welcome. I know Mum was happy here and really cared for to an extremely high standard.
She had a lovely room and ensuite, she was impressed with the high standard of cleanliness in the home. This home has a warm friendly atmosphere, spotlessly clean, wonderful staff, who can't do enough for the residents and made us as a family visiting extremely welcome. I would have no hesitation in recommending Willersley House to anyone. We will be forever grateful to all the staff who cared for Mum here, thank-you so much from all the family.

Lovely home with a nice warm atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the home is managed very efficiently. The setting could not be better - lovely grounds in a village, close to the shops and other amenities.

Excellent caring staff (the most important aspect of any care home) Beautiful, welcoming, clean environment. A good test is how long the staff have been here and how happy they fell here!

After visiting an old friend in the home last month, I must say, my family and I were very impressed at how the home was run, the staff were excellent and very caring. The home is very well maintained, a nice atmosphere and has a very homely feel to it.
My Mother spent her last few years in residential
care and although she seemed happy, it was not a patch on your home.

My mother has been at the home for a month and we are so pleased with the care and treatment she is receiving. The staff are pleasant and very caring and really seem interested in all of the residents. We have been trying to stay with our mother through her illness and now feel happier than before at
leaving her for longer periods as I am confident in the care she is receiving and know they will ring us immediately if they have any concerns. I am so happy that 'Willersley House' had a room for my mother as we had reserved many places and this was by far the best!

Activities are always varied with potential for residents to participate should they wish. Allowing less able residents to observe activities gives stimulation. Including relatives adds to the residents enjoyment. Staff are always enthusiastic and supportive.

It is wonderful to know that mum is safe, happy and well cared for. She has blossomed since she moved into Willersley and had made new friends with residents and carers. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home and the staff are very attentive and caring. The new seating area at the front of the house
gives better access for residents and makes it look like a 5 star hotel!
Most importantly it feels like home for mum.

Thank, you, Linda for taking the time to write a comment about the home. We are so happy to see the outside courtyard being used and enjoyed by the residents, we are now in the process of building a traditional ice cream hut which we hope will become a popular addition to the home.

My stepfather became unable to live at home after two falls. We were offered a lovely room which had to be redecorated first. Unfortunately, he was readmitted to hospital and contracted a virus. This made him frail and confused. The staff could not have been more supportive on his arrival. Despite problems
at the beginning. Everyone was kind, helpful and encouraging. My stepfather is now happy, safe and working more like himself. I am so pleased. I live 300 miles away and no longer have the stress of worrying how he is coping. What a relief!

My Mum lives in Yorkshire and I live in Gloucestershire so my irregular visits mean that I need to be totally confident in the care Mum receives. Mum has been a resident of Willersley for some seven years now and every time I speak to her or see her at what she warmly regards as her "home", I am reassured
that her choice of care home was spot on. Whatever the challenges of recruiting staff for such challenging work , I know that Laura has put together a first class team and am really chuffed that Mum is being looked after by folks who really do care about her. MHA stands for something significant and that's not simply its Methodist heritage, more crucially, it's about people who work tirelessly to give elderly folk a meaningful and dignified life in their final years.

For me, Willersley stands head and shoulders above so many of the other care homes I have visited.

Thank you,Tim, for your kind words, your mother is very special to us given that some of us remember her as a volunteer all those years ago, your mum has done so much for this home over the years and for that, we are truly grateful. It is now our turn to have the pleasure of looking after her.

I was moved from a care home where I didn't get treated very well. The moment I arrived at Willersley I knew it was different. Willersely haws a warm and caring atmosphere. All the staff are helpful and kind. The food is good and all home cooked. The room is spacious and light looking onto the gardens.
I would recommend anyone to come and stay at Willersley. I have been very happy and cared for the month I have been here. Thank you to all at Willersley House.

My auntie and later on my Mum both lived at Willersley House. I had no concerns about my Mum moving in as we had both seen how well my auntie was being looked after. The home provides a high level of activities and guest entertainment. Visitors and relatives are not made to feel a nuisance. In my mum's
final illness when I was pretty much staying at Willersley House I became more aware of how staff did not cut corners in terms of health and hygiene issues as well at looking after her as best they could in a busy home. The bedrooms and public rooms were always clean. The laundry done regularly and returned promptly. The staff were always very busy but had time to answer questions. If they had any concerns they rang me up to let me know what was happening with my Mum or to try and solve any of their concerns over the phone. I think my Mum and Auntie were lucky to have lived at Willersley House. I knew that they would both be well looked after and I did not have to worry about them being there. It was good to visit and see them having a laugh and a joke with nursing and now nursing staff. I like to think that should I need to go into a care home that I will be as well looked after.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.037)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.037) out of 10 for Willersley House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.337 for Willersley House is calculated as follows: ( (36 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.337
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willersley House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
