All the staff are very pleasant and attentive. Well informed when we are coming in or ringing up.

Carpets and room could be updated, very poor quality. Decorating needed.

Though we are more than happy with the care and support my mother is receiving we have found on a number of occasions we have been able to visit she has been dishevelled and even unclean. I realise that she washes and dresses herself, but I think given her age and condition she would benefit from more guidance to ensure she is clean, presentable and her personal hygiene is maintained.

The care home is very well organised which has been very comforting both before and during the Covid pandemic. Providing us information on request is very responsive and the home has made my mother's life comfortable and enjoyable.

Mum's clothes are sometimes dirty, her room could do with a good dusting and painting. I've turned up for a visit on three occasions to find that the staff haven't booked it in (one of them was Christmas day). Turned up once to be told the home was locked down but no one had let us know. Today I was let in and then had to wait forty-five minutes for someone to go and get Mum, while last week my disabled wife and I waited outside for an hour until someone went to get her, it really is poor!

My mam and dad have been in 2-months for care and seem to have settled in very well. The food is good, and the staff are very attentive. The room is a little bare, but this is because we don't know if this is going to be long term.

Reply from Fae Doherty, Senior Marketing Officer at Cedar Court Residential & Nursing Home

Thank you for taking the time to review our home and for your kind words about our team and home-cooked meals. We do invite our residents to make their rooms their own, even if with us for a short time, just to make it feel more like home - so if there is anything we can do, please do let us know. Best wishes.

I have been transferred here from hospital and have found the staff here very helpful and attentive, however, my wife has had an issue with certain members of staff about PPE when she visits. She has discovered she is allergic to your gloves and does remove her apron when she is with me but not when she moves around the 'home' premises. On one occasion, a member of staff, during a visit, came into my room unannounced and threatened to ask her to leave if she didn't put her apron on, despite the fact she wasn't wearing one herself.

Thank you for your kindness, care and patience whilst I have been here.

Cedar Court is a breath of fresh air after her experiences of other care homes. My mam has been a resident for over three years - staff have always been excellent - very helpful and friendly - good banter with some. Any complaints (very few) addressed quickly and satisfactorily with no bad atmosphere after (that was experienced elsewhere, every time, where other family members were in "care").
