The family run home provides a range of flexible and tailored care packages for both long-term residential care and day care. In addition, a purpose built specialist dementia care unit was also added to the home in 2012. Staff at the home are well trained and qualified and aim to provide the highest quality of individual based care treating each resident with dignity and respect.
The residential unit comprises of high quality accommodation that has been modernised and designed to provide a homely, secure and happy environment with beautiful rooms and stunning communal spaces. All rooms have an ensuite toilet with a nurse-call system in place, alongside television points. Residents can benefit from a range of facilities and services such as a hair salon and laundry service, and they have the option to participate in regular activities and concerts within the home. Delicious home cooked meals are prepared daily using fresh local produce.
The dementia units provide specialist care in a carefully designed friendly and homely environment for up to twenty residents. Each unit hosts a range of dementia-friendly facilities and also includes an outside sensory garden. All rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished and include a wet-room, nurse-call system, wall mounted television and fitted wardrobes.

I visited a friend for the first time at Towy Castle in September and I was thoroughly impressed by the standard of the home and the care received. I've never particularly liked visiting care homes as they can be quite depressing places, but Towy was the opposite. Such a beautiful place, and all the residents appear to genuinely enjoy living there. There's a warm, homely atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly friendly yet professional. I will definitely come back, and hopefully I will be able to catch the dancing activities again! Everyone really got involved and seemed to be having a great time - my friend included - which was so nice to see. The staff appear to have a brilliant rapport with the residents and it felt like one big family. I was particularly impressed with the variety of foods offered on the menu, and the cleanliness of the home, as it looked spotless. I would happily bring a loved one to live here, as I feel it's a place I could trust to deliver the very best care.

All the staff from cleaners to managers are outstandingly friendly, polite and helpful. The staff welcome visitors and I feel actively encourage visitors at all times. The staff make time to talk to the residents and follow through on any issues. Any queries by relatives are answered and requests acted upon as soon as possible. The building is always kept warm and very clean. Towy Castle managers have a good rapport with the G.P. surgeries and associated health visitors.

My mum was booked into Towy Castle for 4 weeks for respite whilst adaptations were being carried out at our bungalow. Mum is living with dementia and getting her to accept that she was going to be away from home for 4 weeks was definitely going to be problematic. I had to put my trust in the staff that they would take good care of Mum for the duration of her stay. First evening she was very annoyed that I had left her there! On my 1st visit she had settled really well, thought the staff were really lovely, she knew a few of the residents and all was fine. She was much calmer and was enjoying her stay. The philosophy of the home is that the care of the individual is the number one priority and that each resident should be treated with dignity and respect and this is exactly the experience/ care mum was given. The Care staff were always cheerful and helpful. The standard of care was exceptional and the management team are excellent. Mum is now on the waiting list to reside there.

Kelly qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2012 after completing her nursing degree in Bristol. She began her career in the private nursing home sector, gaining valuable experience with providers including Bupa Healthcare, Methodist Housing Association and Brighterkind.
In 2017, Kelly moved to Wales and joined Leonard Cheshire Disability as a nurse within a 20-bedded service supporting younger adults with learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries. During her seven years with the organisation, she progressed to Deputy Manager and became Lead Nurse for tracheostomy care and 24-hour ventilation. She also developed extensive skills and knowledge in the management of artificial feeding and epilepsy.
More recently, Kelly held a Deputy Manager position with Barchester Healthcare, supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the service while continuing to undertake clinical nursing responsibilities.
With a broad range of experience in general nursing, dementia care, learning disabilities and leadership, Kelly is passionate about supporting teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. She believes in creating an environment where staff feel valued, confident and well equipped to provide the best possible care, enabling residents to live fulfilling lives and maintain strong connections with their families.
Kelly has recently joined My Choice Healthcare as Service Improvement Manager for the South West Wales region, where she is using her extensive clinical, leadership and management experience to drive quality, consistency and continuous service improvement across the organisation.
