In my 46-year career as a senior nurse, I feel that Towy Castle is the best I have seen; the care and compassion by the staff and the cleanliness and quality of the environment is exceptional. Mam was here for four years and I truly cannot thank the team enough for caring for her. Let's also not forget the view.

My Mum joined the Towy Castle community in August last year. She was confused, unable to stand unaided having come straight from hospital, and anxious. Thanks to the care of the staff, she is now calm, enjoying the activities and walking around with a Zimmer frame. The staff have given her confidence to be more independent. My mum really enjoys a lot of the activities especially trips out. If I have any concerns regarding my mum, I have no worries about approaching the staff as they are always willing to listen. I am so glad my mum is in Towy Castle, it gives me peace of mind that she is properly cared for.

In one word Towy Castle is 'outstanding'! The home is 5-star! Staff are extremely professional as well as kind, caring and empathetic at all times. Towy Castle is pristine and all aspects of care are first class, Our relative had quite a traumatic move which was made so much easier by all the wonderful staff involved. Care at the home is second to none and as relatives we are always made to feel so welcome. Our family member has had a new 'lease of life' since she arrived in April. Cannot thank staff enough for their support to us all.

The staff at Towry Castle were wonderful. They really took care of Mum. They kept us fully updated on her welfare and if anything happened we were contacted immediately. They were always welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We felt Mum was in the best place. The home was always spotless and Mum's room was clean and tidy. We can't thank the staff enough for everything they did.

My mother-in-law has been a resident for approximately six months. Moving a family member to a care home is a very challenging time. But from the moment we met the manager and the staff, we knew we had found a special place. This feeling has continued.
My mother-in-law is in the dementia unit and has a large room, with a sofa and high-back chair in addition to her bed. She has her own toilet facilities and shower.
The staff are simply wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble.
There is excellent communication between the staff, relatives and residents. They make huge efforts to find out who my mother-in-law really is, her likes/dislikes.

I could write numerous other examples of excellent care but for anyone contemplating residential care provision, we would strongly recommend Towy Castle Care Home as it genuinely feels like 'home from home'.

A beautiful care home in the middle of the country with a glorious review of the River Towy and the rolling hills. My mother was only at Castle Town for eight weeks before she passed away but within that short period of time. The staff had got to know her really well. They were always kind and friendly and nothing was too much. The visiting areas was delightful with tea and coffee making facilities for the family and delicious cake. Thank you, Towy Castle!

Towy Castle Care Home has had a good reputation for many years. When my cousin became a resident, nearly one year ago, our family were very impressed with the standard of this care home. It is very clean with none of the odours which are normally present. Most of all, the staff are universally friendly and helpful. All my cousin's needs are cared for, including medical and dental care. He has just celebrated his 100th birthday and enjoyed a wonderful day.

My mother has been a resident at Towy Castle for just over 3 years which has been a very difficult time for everyone due to the Covid pandemic.
My siblings and I have been extremely impressed and relieved at how the home has protected the residents during this awful period.
Over the past year, management has kept us up to date with the various rules and regulations regarding Covid. The home has been meticulous in maintaining its high standard of care and safeguarding all residents.
All members of the management team are extremely approachable and helpful in keeping me up to date with health issues, GP interventions, medication, behavioural changes etc.
The care staff are very kind, caring and compassionate. I can tell from my mother's reactions towards the carers that she has a very good relationship with them.

I am extremely satisfied with all aspects of the service provided at Towy Castle.

Just over a year ago, we as a family were faced with having to consider a care home for my mother as she was suffering from mixed dementia. Sadly, due to her very challenging behaviour, the time had come for us to seek the assistance of a care home with specialist dementia care. Having heard positive comments about Towy Castle from friends, we were keen to pursue the option of Towy Castle. Towy Castle is a family-owned care home and from our experience, every resident is treated as an individual. The staff are very professional, caring and very welcoming. The staff manage to provide wonderful care to my mother despite her feelings of paranoia. One of the most valued aspects of her care is the prompt communication of any issues regarding her health and care needs e.g a doctor's visit or new medication. Whilst the decision to move my mother to a care home was a difficult one, I am happy and comforted that the decision we made was the right one. Thank you to all at Towy Castle!

My cousin lived at Towy Castle for two years before her recent death. She was treated with kindness and consideration by the staff who seemed to do their very best in very difficult times to give a high standard of care. Most of the staff and the management were fantastic and none was less than good. The family are very grateful for their care.

Towy Castle staff all made Mum feel extremely welcome and 'part of the family' from the day she moved in. In fact, her close carers very quickly became her friends. Mum's deteriorating health and increasing needs were met perfectly and any change in the care provided was explained clearly to us, as her family so we always knew exactly what was going on. Towards the end of her life, Mum was cared for to the highest standards possible and to which I feel any care setting should aspire. Thank you too for all the kindness and sensitivity shown to the whole family during the last month when we were literally visiting several times every day and spending hours with you. Every single member of staff I met went above and beyond what I would have expected of them!

During the time my parent was at Towy Castle, they received the highest level of care and consideration. The staff took care to attend to my parent's deteriorating health, working closely with us and health professionals. They were always attentive and sensitive in their approach. I felt that all the staff had their residents' well-being at the core of everything they did.

My father came from East Anglia to live at Towy Castle Care Home some five or six years ago as he was gradually getting obvious dementia memory loss and confusion. He quickly appeared happy at the home even though he was aware of being placed into care, something he had resisted for many years. Within days, he showed a marked improvement in both his physical and mental state. He loved the food, the staff and the atmosphere, and he had a fair few happy years of residence until he sadly passed away.

Throughout his time at Towy Castle, I always felt that he was safe yet free to go anywhere he wished, within the bounds of safety and necessary monitoring. The staff were excellent, warm and friendly despite the restrictions of lockdown. I was always kept aware of any issues expeditiously by phone. The owners of the home are very professional, as well as being approachable and friendly. When Dad died, the staff were fully supportive, helpful and professional yet discreet.

As a retired registered manager, I researched a number of care settings before approaching Towy Castle for a place for my parents. Mum and Dad were placed in October 2021. From my first contact with the staff, I was struck by their warmth and professionalism, nothing was too much trouble and communication was always speedy, informed and effective. My parents had many needs, they were treated individually as well as a couple. The care was provided in full consultation, where possible, with my parents and always in discussion with myself and my sister. When Dad and Mum were unwell, medical attention was sought quickly often out of hours. When it became apparent that my father was coming to the end of his life the care was exemplary. My mother was supported at the funeral by the Registered manager and the support from staff to mum since dad's passing has been faultless. Towy Castle has been a godsend to us as a family and we cannot speak highly enough of the care provided to our parents.

My husband and I had to make the difficult decision to move my mother-in-law into a care home from a hospital during Covid times in early 2021. That decision was made a lot easier for us as my mother-in-law had already done her homework and told us she wanted to go to Towy Castle in the event she could no longer look after herself. We fully understand why she chose Towy Castle. The home is in a beautiful location and my mother-in-law had a lovely room overlooking the estuary which she particularly enjoyed. However, like most things in life, it is the people who really make the difference. The help, care and support given to my mother-in-law by all the staff was always first class and nothing was too much trouble. This was a great comfort to us particularly as we live 4 hours away. In addition, we felt we were always kept informed, involved in every decision and also made to feel very welcome. My mother-in-law's words were always "everyone is so lovely here, they are all so kind".
