Towy Castle Care Home is of a very hight standard in comparison to a number of local homes I visit. The management are efficient and exceptionally helpful with all requests made. The staff/carers are unique in that they treat each individual according to their needs, in a kindly and loving way. Having
had a choice of a number of homes to admit my friend into, I am completely satisfied that this is the best choice I could have made, seeing she has dementia and I am delighted at the care she is receiving.

Mum has been a resident at Ocean Living for over 18 months. We had cared for her at home as long as we could while having to work full time. Mum's dementia deteriorated and we made the difficult decision to find a care home. Ocean Living is a small home and we feel this makes all the difference. All
the staff know all the residents. The staff are always helpful, caring and very chatty with Mum, making her feel 'at home'. They are very welcoming whenever we visit. Mum has been on several trips out which she enjoys at the time but her condition means she can't recall them later. Having visited other care homes we are certain that Ocean Living and their staff was the best decision for care we could have made.
Reply from Teri Edwards, Registered manager at Ocean LivingThankyou for your kind comment. Mum is a pleasure to look after and we love having her part of our little family

I really cannot rate this home highly enough, the staff here are quite exceptional. The patience and care they showed my husband has meant so much to me. The fact that he settled so much more quickly than I expected was due, I am sure, to the gentle humour, support and stimulation offered to him by
people who cared enough to take time to learn his likes and dislikes. The home is always clean, fresh and welcoming, my husband always neat and clean and his room immaculate and comfortable - a lovely environment and a credit to housekeeping and catering staff. My husband's health issues have always been addressed promptly and with utmost care by staff I could trust implicitly. Management and staff are never less than friendly and approachable and I would not hesitate to recommend the Mountains to anyone and offer my sincere thanks for all their care.
Reply from Therisa Galazka, Home Manager at The MountainsThank you so very much for you wonderful review Carol. Your feedback means so much to us and I will share it with the team today. It is always good to hear that our efforts in providing the best possible care is acknowledged and appreciated. My dad has been a resident since March 2025. He is well cared for and his room and ensuite are fantastic. The care home staff are very good to him and treat him with dignity and respect. Staff always make time to discuss concerns about his health and well being and listen to me and action any areas
of concern relating to his care or input from other professionals. I feel he is safe at all times.

Thank you so much to all the team at Alexandra House for caring and looking after my Mum during her recent 2 week short term stay. At 98 my Mum had never been in a Care Hime situation before and was quite anxious before staying at the home. I have wholehearted praise for the care, love and support that
she has received. She herself had no complaints whatsoever about her stay. She found the staff very helpful and supportive, nice food with a varied menu and stayed in a lovely newly refurbished room. As her son, l too had the comfort that she was being very well looked after during my holiday break. Highly recommend.

From the first visit I paid to this residence, I was treated with the utmost respect and friendliness from all the staff without exception. After meeting the senior staff, I understood why. To be living in a home positioned overlooking the sea and cared for in such a caring way is, I would say, exceptional.
Gazing

Every time I walk into the Mountains care home I'm met with smiles and friendly comments from carers, and it doesn't seem to matter how hard they might be working! I appreciate their positive and calm attitude so much, especially as sometimes I arrive worried about Mum or rushed off my feet, and their
calm accepting and patient attitude works like a soothing balm at those times! I can see how well Mum responds to this kind of treatment. Although Mum has advanced dementia, being a teacher and a very active kind of person, and a naturally born leader, she has always loved people and with her outgoing nature has always been a magnet for likeminded people. I love the way the carers recognised these qualities in her and encourage her to be herself. You're all a complete Godsend - thank you so much for all you do for Mum!
Reply from Therisa Galazka, Home Manager at The MountainsWhat a wonderful review Rachel..... thank you so very much. Mum is a beautifully kind natured lady. It has been lovely to share memories of travel with her through you and your family. It is equally reassuring to know that she has an amazingly supportive family who clearly love her dearly. We love to hear stories about you all and enjoy your visits to the home. Mum and i can often be seen to be arm in arm, humming or singing and certainly dancing! She is truly a lovely lady and we are both humbled and proud to be a part of her life.

My father has advanced dementia, and his behaviour is very challenging at times. The home he was in previously were unable to cope with his needs and he became poorly, but The Mountains changed that within a few weeks, liaising with doctors to find the best treatment/medication for him.
Dad's behaviour
has become even more challenging, but the staff are wonderful with him, respectful, patient and kind. They are also very kind and supportive towards my sister and I, always keeping us well informed. Any health issues are dealt with quickly.
Although Dad doesn't really respond well now, there are activities every day for residents, and his dietary needs are now being met, with help feeding if he needs it.
My sister and I are so grateful to have found the Mountains and it's wonderful staff, and have no hesitation in recommending them.
Reply from Therisa Galazka, Home Manager at The MountainsThank you so much for your kind review |Wendy... we fully appreciate and understand that dad often finds it difficult to express his needs and his presentation can often be upsetting for you and your sister. However, there are moments when he can and will engage in activity and he particularly likes the sensory work. We make every effort to maintain dad's independence where possible and he is still able to make decisions regarding his menu choices, drinks and other basic needs. There are also times when dad can engage in conversation about his working life, these are special moments too. I will share your lovely feedback with the team and I know they will be happy to hear such positive comments. Of course, if you need support at anytime, please do speak with myself or any other member of the team. We are here for you as well as dad. Take care.

Lovely, friendly staff who take care of mum and treat her with dignity and respect. My only concern is that mum has had several falls and has been left to go upstairs alone via the stairs when she is vulnerable to falls, and she has had previous falls and has had previous falls and breaks - we know
she is a wanderer, and this is our concern.
Reply from Abigail Megail, Home Manager at Alexandra HouseThank you so much for your kind words and for recognising the care and dignity our team provides to your mum. Her safety and wellbeing are always our top priority. We ensure she is always accompanied and supported with her movement around the home. We truly value your input and are already in discussion with you about the possibility of moving her to a ground-floor room to make things easier and reduce unnecessary movement. Please be assured that your mum is never left to wander alone and we have implemented addition safety provisions to alert staff of movement; our dedicated team are always present to ensure that all residents are safe and cared for.

My father, felt not only cared for but also loved from the moment he arrived at Alexandra House in Ludlow. As the months passed, the care, compassion and skill of the carers there gave him a quality of life he could never have enjoyed in his own home. He made friends, played games, started walking on
his walker again and felt as if he was part of a family. Visiting him was always a pleasure in part because the carers were always so friendly and warm.
In his last weeks, the skill, care and kindness shown to him - and me, his only daughter - was truly magnificent and brought great solace and comfort to us both. When the time comes, I hope Alexandra House will find a room for me!

I have been meaning to write a formal review for some time as Mum has lived at the Mountains since last October and I have been very happy with the care she receives. Just over a week ago Mum received a visit from her sister, and two great friends, who Mum has not seen for over a year. As I felt it
was an important visit for all concerned i rang the Home ahead of time and explained, and requested the garden lounge be available for the visit. Following the visit my aunt, one of the visitors, rang me and was full of praise for the warm welcome they received, commenting that we could not have found a better home for Mum. They were supported to access the quiet lounge, then enjoyed time in the garden, too, which they all thoroughly enjoyed . My aunt said all staff were very warm and caring.
Personally, I too find all staff very committed and very supportive - the nurses, carers, housekeeping, activities team- and I have had excellent communication with the new Manager.
Many thanks all!
Reply from Therisa Galazka, Home Manager at The MountainsThank you so much for your wonderful review Stephen. It is so nice to hear that your families first impressions of the service are positive. I will certainly share your feedback with the team as it makes such a difference to morale when they hear words like 'committed' 'very warm' and 'caring'. It is of particular importance when this feedback is received from the families of the residents. We look forward to continue working with you in the best interests of mum.
