Thank you so much for your lovely review and your kind words; which is much appreciated. It was our pleasure to be able to support this lady and yourselves as family members, at this very difficult time. We will share this feedback with our staff, as we thank them on your behalf.
The resident in question was a joy to have and enjoyed her six year stay with us making many friends with residents and staff. We enjoyed many happy times together and was particularly good at quizzes sharing her general knowledge.
In relation to the review from her brother, we are very disappointed that he feels this way after taking such good care and focusing on person-centred care. After losing some mobility my involvement with both Physiotherapy, D/N, CPN and GP who all had input in her care plan, sadly she fell shortly afterwards.
We as a Residential Care Home have a duty of care and an ambulance was called and the resident was taken to A&E. The resident in question was not in a position to return as it would not have been safe due to her mobility as confirmed with safeguarding, this was the correct decision until such a time there was an improvement.
We were in regular contact with the ward, physiotherapist and discharge team we also made numerous attempts to call her brother without success.
We were then informed after three weeks via the hospital the resident in question had been assessed as nursing and as a Residential Home discharged from our care.
It was not until ten days later when her brother came to collect residents’ belongings that we were sadly informed of her passing.
It is regrettable to receive an inaccurate review and continue to provide tailored person-centred care with all care professionals and family involved.
