Towy Castle Care Home

All good. Excellent care.

I would recommend as a 1st class residential home to anybody.

Before my Mum moved to Towy Castle Care Home, I looked at four other care home in the county, Towy Castle stands out as having the highest ratio of care staff to residents, I feel that the care staff are exceptional in terms of the quality of care and support they provide to residents. My mum continues to receive a high level of support and kindness by care staff, that for me, personally is the most important criterion in choosing any care home. Good range of activities and facilities available to residents.

My cousin has been a resident at Towy Castle Care Home since November 2014 and has received excellent care throughout the years. I visit every week at different days and times and have always found my cousin clean, well fed and treated with kindness by the staff.

Excellent joint working with other professionals - in my mother’s case with the specialist diabetic nurse/ district nurses.

Towy Castle helped me look after my mum, during her last years...providing daycare and transport to and from the home (she had severe Alzheimer's). They provided a First Class Service (care, support basically everything). I know that attending Towy Castle greatly improved her quality of life. They made the unbearable...bearable...and as good as it could be, for all of us. I cannot recommend them highly enough and will always be incredibly grateful for the outstandingly compassionate professional care they provided before she sadly passed away (4/8/18).

My mother has been a resident at Towy Castle for just over 2 years. An excellent family-run business and the staff are extremely kind and supportive at all times. We could not wish for her to be better looked after and she has improved greatly since she has been a resident at Towy Castle - we would have no hesitation in recommending this home to any family.

My mother was a resident for three years until she died of natural causes of old age. She was well looked after by the staff and was happy in the home, she thought she was home due to dementia in this home. Very well kept in clean clothes. The food and drinks were always well presented. Always friendly staff to welcome you when visited. I felt at home there. I miss going there and made lots of friends.

Towy Castle is, without doubt, a most exceptional care home.

The staff do everything they can to accommodate any requests received and attend to all of Mum's needs in a consistent and professional way.

The rooms are all maintained to a very high standard and are so homely.

Cleanliness is paramount and this can be recognised as soon as you step into the main foyer and throughout!

Towy Castle is a beautiful place.

My wife was in a bad way when she moved in. At times she could not recognise me. Two years later her only problem is mobility. I can visit anytime I like. I take her out sometimes to the theatre getting back late. I take her away at Christmas for about 5 days to visit our family. She has no worries, is taken care of and has a better life than I could give her at home.

They always deal with my aunt with kindness, dignity and respect.

I would suggest more support staff needed.

My late father was a resident from 2014 to 2016, my mother a resident from 2012 to date and is in the dementia unit. The home accommodated my father's and the needs of my mother impeccably, during an extremely upsetting and emotional transition of my mother going into the care home and the needs of my father, who was registered blind and in 2014 had both his legs amputated from his knee down. The management and staff at the home made the whole move as smooth as possible and accommodated their individual needs. My mother and father were made to feel like part of the big family ethos of the home. I am also made to feel part of Towy Castle Family, which is a great comfort and I know that the exceptional care is there for my mother, the carers dress my mother with the same dignity they would dress their own mother. The whole management and staff run a very professional home from home care home and are always looking for ways to engage the residents. The whole ambience of the home is exceptional.

My mother has been a resident at Towy Castle since October 2009. Throughout this period she has received excellent care from the committed and compassionate staff of the home. I cannot recommend Towy Castle strongly enough, particularly for residents suffering from dementia, who are supported daily to enjoy life to the fullest extent they can.

Over the years that I visited my relative at Towy Castle, I was welcomed by the staff and always had a little chat. My relative was always presented very smartly and clean. She was always 'pressing' the staff and was happy.

The one thing that I was more than impressed with was if my relative was not well, the doctor was always called, and I was informed of the visit. A wonderful care home.

I am so pleased with Towy Castle. My mother has been resident for 3 years and everything has been 1st class. The staff, managers and owners are all lovely - kind and empathetic, never dismissive or uncaring. Communication is excellent. The service is invested in continuously by the owners, smart, appropriate and comfortable furniture, refurbishing rooms to ensure the highest standards. It feels like a hotel. Communal facilities are beautiful with large lounges, comfortable seating set out sociably, not like waiting rooms, quiet conservatories. The panoramic views from the patios are breath-taking. Modern patio furniture, large parasols beautiful grounds for walking in, native, woodland flowers. There is a hairdressing salon and a visiting chiropodist and manicurist. Regular entertainment and trips out, for those that want them but it is perfectly fine if people do not want any of that. It is all about choice. I give the whole service my admiration and my grateful thanks.

As someone who used to frequently provide dental care to care home residents, I can certainly say that Towy Castle is very well run and a caring business.

Recommend them? I'd be happy to reside there myself, but maybe not yet.
