As a family, we reviewed the Care home options in detail, including site visits and scoring each option with assessment criteria. Towy Castle was without any doubt, the Care Home of choice in every respect. Mum moved effortlessly into Towy Castle, during difficult COVID times, and was settled immediately into a beautiful room overlooking the estuary. Later, Mum requested, for convenience, to move to the ground floor which was arranged as soon as a room became available. We visited Mum routinely and the staff ensured that Mum received the best possible visitation facilities, under the ever-changing and restrictive COVID conditions, which were respected continuously. I cannot say in words how reassured we all were to know that Mum was receiving the best possible care. If there is one thing that characterises Towy Castle it is the 'culture' that exists throughout the Team. If I may, I would like to mention the manager and her assistant as outstanding members of the Management Team.

What a lovely homely place Towy Castle is, in a stunning location that enhances the whole experience for my mother, who has been a resident for a couple of months and has settled in wonderfully. The whole team have been supportive and sensitive to her needs, often going above and beyond to ensure that she is happy. All the team respond positively to ensure that she gets the best possible help and that her needs are fully met. We are delighted to have found Towy Castle and to have become part of the Towy Castle extended family and we look forward to a long and happy association.

From the very very first contact by telephone with Towy Castle I was so very, very impressed - the support, kindness, professionalism and above all dignity and understanding of service users needs, and support to family members, well it's second to none. If I had to give them marks out of 10 for best care home ever I would give them 12. This unwavering unconditional support of myself and my mother continues every single day. Nothing is too much trouble. Furthermore, if I ask for something for my mum, it's done immediately - the staff, right from housekeeping to carers and then manager and owners, absolutely bend over backwards. My mum is so well looked after, she is so happy there. The home is in unrivalled countryside with fabulous views - it's like being in a 5 star luxury hotel being at Towy Castle. In addition, it's spotlessly clean and the interior and decor are gorgeous. This care home, staff etc exceeded and continues to exceed all my expectations. So marks out of 10 would be 12.

My wife, who is suffering from dementia has been a resident of Towy Castle Care Home for 4 years. During that period I have been totally satisfied with her care.

The period since March 2020 has been very difficult from a visiting point of view but the home has been very successful in keeping all residents free from Covid. They have also provided a comfortable cabin for us to visit our loved ones in a safe environment.

Mum was in this care home for two years. The first year she was looked after well. However, once the Covid restrictions made visiting impossible, she deteriorated very quickly. We were not aware of this until we moved her to Kent a few months ago when it became obvious that she was very poorly. The new care home she moved to was very concerned about her health and after investigations found that she was suffering from heart failure, fluid on her lungs, enlarged heart and kidney failure, all of which were advanced.

Unfortunately she passed away after only being in the new home for 10 weeks.

My lovely uncle was a resident at Towy Castle for nearly two years. He settled well and took part in lots of activities that were well adapted for the residents. The best part for me was they sent lots of photos that I could see how happy he was.

My mother was at this home for seven years and the previous two years for the day. I could not have asked for better. She was very happy, well fed and always clean and tidy. The staff are out of this world, they are so kind to my mother and also to me and other members of my family. My mother died there a few days ago. I can only thank them for all they did for her.

My mother-in-law was at Towy Castle for almost a year until she passed away. She has nothing but praise for the care and attention she received and settled well in the care home. As a family, we were always treated with kindness and consideration. She could not have been in a better place for the last years of her life.

Like everyone, the thought of Mum going into a care home filled me with fear. But after visiting Towy Castle, our worries all disappeared. We, as visitors, were made extremely welcome whenever we called. Mum was so happy whenever we saw her, whether that was in person or the photos and videos we received on social media. The care staff were, without exception, extremely helpful with caring for Mum, and nothing was ever too much trouble.

The setting is outstanding, and the cleanliness of the care home is incredible; all bedrooms, shower rooms and toilets are spotlessly clean. Meals are superb, and a menu placed on a board daily. I would recommend Towy Castle Care Home to anyone. They made my mums final years so happy. Thank you, Towy Castle.

My mother received excellent care at Towy Castle from the day she arrived. The staff have offered expert, compassionate and appropriate service at all times, providing residents with a very high quality of life, even during the difficult and uncertain days of the coronavirus pandemic. Few homes can boast the breathtaking views that Towy Castle has. I have been very impressed with the way in which the home has kept residents safe and well, whilst allowing family and friends to stay in touch and visit in a Covid-secure way, as allowed by government regulations. I am sure that if circumstances had allowed, the range of activities offered would have been greater - and so my 'good' rating (rather than 'excellent') reflects restrictions beyond the home's control rather than any failings from the staff. Having Welsh-speaking staff has been an added bonus so that residents can communicate in the language of their choice. Sincere thanks for all that they have done and continue to do. Diolch yn fawr. (Thank you very much)

A pleasant home, where staff make you welcome.
Food we think is a little too modern for elderly people.

Have dealt with the COVID19 very well so far and have tried to comfort the residents in such difficult times.

Mum came to Towy Castle due to her inability to cope at home. She had stopped going out and was losing her way/independence. Due to the home's positive atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff, Mum has come out of her shell. She seems to enjoy all the various activities and loves exploring the local amenities. This has helped reverse her decline and gave my mum a new lease of life. She is happier, positive and often laughing. I would definitely recommend this home as the care is excellent and staff are always helpful and supportive.

Dad suffers from Alzheimer's and moved into Towy Castle in February 2019 after having home live-in care. The care and service performed here has reduced his anxiety significantly, he's happier with the support of all the staff than at home and his Alzheimers' has stabilised. He regularly says that he's happy here and all the staff at Towy Castle take a genuine interest in his well-being. He's busy with activities in the home as well as regular visits outside as well. He participates in most of the activities and feels well cared for by the team. We are therefore very happy with the caring approach taken by the team here. We are so pleased with the care taken by the home.

My aunt's room is large, light and airy and has a sizeable ensuite shower. Her room is on the dementia unit which has a smaller dining /sitting room area suitable for residents with memory loss. There are a cinema room and hairdressing room on the same floor. My aunt tells me the food is excellent and enough of it.
The reason I'm most impressed with is the activities. Every week there is a packed diary of events to suit everyone. There are varied in house activities such as chair yoga, singing, crafting, visiting entertainment. Also, therapy pets visit. A range of trips to local concerts, cafes and Ty-Golau are among some of the jaunts arranged.

Towy Castle has a social media page showing all the activities that happen so that relatives can see their loved ones enjoying life at Towy Castle.

Mum spent the last four years of her life at Towy Castle. She struggled to settle in initially but the staff went above and beyond to make her comfortable and settle in. The staff were very caring and got to know Mum's individual needs. This helped to improve her quality of life. The activities improved and increased from when she first started and Mum loved her trips out to lunch and shopping, etc. The home extended her life with us and I will be forever grateful.

Having visited and viewed many care homes, this was and without doubt is the best. Beautiful building, fantastic outlook, clean and airy, a great bunch of staff and easy access to family and visitors at any time.
