My wife has been in Ty-Porth for 3 months and has been treated very well.
The care staff and nursing staff are very good and check on her at regular intervals.
The food is good and she is eating quite well, she is very happy and contented and that is all that matters.

Every time my wife and I visited, completely unannounced, we always found the premises clean, tidy and hygienic. In addition, the staff were always friendly and helpful which was much appreciated.

My father went in December and sadly passed away on February 21st. The nurses, carers, staff and ones in charge really looked after my father until his last breath. I am grateful for everyone who looked after him. I really didn't want him to go into a care home but I am glad he went to Ty Porth. The

The care and attention that my mother is receiving at Ty Porth Care Home is excellent. All the staff are kind and very caring. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff at Ty Porth Care Home are the real asset of the home.
They are very professional courteous and really kind to visitors and residents alike. They treat my very old mother with real care and dignity and show a genuine affection towards her which, at this stage in her life is really appreciated.
The
nurse on night duty (Monday 21st May ) was particularly good, a wonderful professional.

The entertainment staff i.e. They organised a celebration on Sat for family and friends of residents. They ensured all 8 residents were involved and had a great time singing and dancing. They put huge effort into organising displays for the walks and Union Jack flags. Everyone had a great time. Thank

The nurses are fab. But the people above them decided to put an 83 yr old man unable to talk or walk on a mattress on a floor. With an electric fan heater to roll into. Or have blankets to cover it. Unable to call if in trouble. Not nice treatment at all. And they didn't inform family of any changes.
The nurses can get distracted for the above things to happen. But have to do what the above say. But I will say this just made more work for the nursing staff who have been good. But their hands are tied on doing what they are told to do.

I was very grateful for the care home to offer my father-in-law a place. Before moving in, he was living in a flat mostly on his own, he had support from other family members but due to mobility issues, he was unable to get out and about and continue with his daily routine and hobbies. After moving
into the home, he was able to get out and about with the support of staff, including visiting his church on weekends. He received very good care and I felt that he was in safe hands should he have any falls which he was prone to. It is a very warm, welcoming and friendly home.

My gran has recently moved into Ty Porth Care Home and I cannot fault the support and care that she receives. The staff are lovely and always make you feel like part of a big family. I visit my friend on a Wednesday and have found the staff in particular very kind and helpful despite being poorly paid.
The home, lounge and residents rooms are comfortable and clean.
Heating seems to be a little high.
Pleased to see that hygiene score has risen from 2 to 4 out of 5.

Stephanie

Stephanie Griffiths

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2016

Stephanie is the General Manager of Ty Porth Care Home, Steph is an experienced qualified general nurse that has been qualified for over 10 years.
Throughout Steph's career she has predominately worked in elderly care services both in the NHS and private sector. Steph started working in Ty Porth Care Home in 2009 and has been a care team member, a nurse, the deputy manager and now the general manager. She is always promoting the residents to maintain their independence and enhance the wellbeing of residents living at Ty Porth Care Home. No two days are the same for Steph, she thoroughly enjoys working at Ty Porth Care Home.

Julie

Julie Inch

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2020

Julie is a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Julie has worked in the care sector for over 30 years and has been a registered nurse for over three years. Julie has been a valued member of the team since joining Ty Porth in Nov 2020. In April 2022 she was promoted to Community Manager and has overseen the delivery of care in our nursing care communities. Julie has taken up the post of Deputy Manager in August 2023. She has completed her QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management and is registered with Social Care Wales.


Julie is passionate about providing high standards of dementia care and end-of-life care.

Leah Howells

Job Title: Business Support Manager Joined: 2022

Leah is new to Ty Porth Care Home and joined July 2022, although Leah has worked in Hallmark Care Homes since 2016. Leah has had many roles in these years and began her journey as a receptionist and developed to become to Hospitality Service manager and now in her most recent role at TyPorth as a business support manager. Leah is responsible for the hospitality at Ty Porth Care Home and is responsible for the new admissions. Leah thoroughly enjoys working at Ty Porth Care Home, the role is very diverse and no two days are the same! The role allows Leah to meet with new friends and family daily.

Louise Vaughan

Job Title: Business Administrator Joined: 2020

Louise has worked worked at Ty Porth since August 2020, she began at Ty Porth Care Home as a receptionist and become the business administrator in March 2022. Louise has a wealth of knowledge in administration as she has worked in the role for 30 years! Louise enjoys working at Ty Porth Care Home as she enjoys building relationships with the residents and the families that live at Ty Porth Care Home.

Job Title: Lifestyle Coordinator Joined: 2018

Hannah is a dedicated member of our team. Her role as lifestyle lead is to plan and implement a meaningful activity schedule each week promoting a sense of purpose and wellbeing in our residents. Hannah also organises all home events and celebrations throughout the year and regularly fundraises for our homes chosen charities.

Lisa Benjamin

Job Title: Head Housekeeper Joined: 2007

Lisa has worked at Ty Porth since 2007. Lisa manages our housekeeping team, ensuring the home is kept clean and the laundry services run effectively. Lisa is a team player and is willing to help all departments when needed.

Debbie

Debbie Hayward

Job Title: Residential community manager Joined: 2009

Debbie has worked at Ty Porth since 2009. She began on the twilight shift and quickly became a full time care team member, progressing to senior care team member. She become the community manager in October 2018. Debbie manages both residential communities; the dementia residential and the general residential community. Debbie enjoys her role and the most important part of her day is knowing she has made a difference to the lives of the residents and seeing a smile on their faces.
