Initially, we were a little bit anxious when our 90-year-old mother with dementia moved in, We were worried that she would be left to 'waste away' in her bed with no interaction or care. Couldn't have been more wrong! I visited Mum during the day and was pleased to find her clean, dressed and sitting in a room with others. She smiled and seemed happy, which is all we could have hoped for. The staff are so respectful and very gentle with residents.

My dad has been here since May and the service and treatment received has been 100%. The staff work tirelessly to ensure the patients are cared for. The staff are always checking on the patients and making sure that they are as mobile as possible. My dad is very happy here.

From our first impression of viewing and now being 6 months on from our aunt living at Alexander Care Home, I feel it is a genuinely welcoming and caring atmosphere. She has settled in better than we could have ever hoped. We are regularly updated on how she is and any concerns or issues. The staff have got to know her well to pick up on any problems quickly. She enjoys the activities and entertainment, and also her privacy, whilst still being in a safe environment. She seems content, which gives us peace of mind.

The care in this home is substandard. DONT bring your loved ones here. Most of the staff are very rude or glued to their phones. My father in law is left in his room like a prisoner. Since his arrival here he has become very depressed, lonely & sad. He has also lost his mobility completely due to lack of physio, care and interaction. We have asked on numerous occasions for him to taken out into the garden which is a nice space and down to the dining room which has never happened. Water, books and necessary items out of reach, food just put in front of them and left. The room is not cleaned properly and for the past week no buzzer. To be fair, the staff ignore them most of the time anyway which is very worrying. The other day a buzzer was sounding for over an hour with no response. He was given supper which consisted of stale bread saturated in butter. I also found a hair in his food whilst feeding him. Managers always avoid returning calls or emails. Looking to move him. No leadership.

My Mum recently moved into Alexander Care Home and received a very warm welcome. The Management team and all of the staff are kind, caring and professional towards my Mum. I visit her once or twice weekly, receiving a warm welcome myself, and have seen a change in her overall happiness, well being and confidence. On a recent visit my Mum and I sat in the garden and I was pleased to notice an improvement in her mobility. My Mum looks well, was laughing with the staff, is starting to make friends and encouraged to join in with some of the activities. I feel confident my Mum is receiving the best care I could wish for giving me peace of mind.

On the whole I am pleased with the level of care given to my mum. She enjoys the food and the staff are mostly attentive and caring. mum seems to know some more than others and I myself know some better than others too. Sometimes the little things get over looked but the staff must be busy at times. There have been a couple of issues, some we have managed to resolve, others not.

My mum has come on leaps and bounds since coming here. She has gone from looking totally depressed and not very talkative to being chatty, happy and also after not walking or showering in over two years she is now because of the lovely staff doing all these things, she looks great.

I am satisfied with the care my mother is receiving. I am happy with my involvement with both staff and management.
Whilst I am happy with the cook's meals I feel the introduction of limited soft fresh fruits (i.e. ripe banana) would be good.
Safety and treatment with dignity is excellent.

Overall I am happy with this care home and would recommend it as good.

My mother has been a resident at Alexander Cae Home for over three years. She is happy and settled at the care home, and the staff are very professional and efficient in all their departments, caring for my mother and residents.

Every time I come to the care home, the staff are always friendly and update us on my mother's condition. Her room is clean and tidy, and so is she. Thank you so much!
