Anchor’s Silk Court, in the heart of Bethnal Green, is a purpose-built home supporting up to 51 older people to live a comfortable lifestyle, as well as specialising in dementia care.

The home provides a range of residential care services, including convalescence care; respite care; trial stays and long-term care for those who can no longer look after themselves.

The care team get to know customers and work with them to organise stimulating activities which match individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community. Each customer’s individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans meet their lifestyle requirements.

Meals are cooked using fresh, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible by a highly trained Chef Manager and kitchen staff.

Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

Excellent and thoughtful care. A cohesive team. Physical and social needs are very well taken care of. My mother feels very loved and looked after at Silk Court, and she's very happy there. We are thrilled that she lives there now. She is in her 90s, and could not survive on her own.

Silk Court is very friendly and welcoming. My mum has been there for several months and seems mostly happy when I visit.
The staff are very helpful, and nothing seems too much trouble. Two members of staff were very kind to Mum, and that made me feel better after my visits. I would also like to mention
two other members of staff for their kindness.

It is just a shame that I cannot put 6 stars! My nan has been in Silk Court for several years now, and although she becomes more stubborn as the months go on, the team continues to offer a high level of care and patience to ensure she has the best experience each and every day. They go above and beyond
at every opportunity and make the whole family feel welcome when we visit. Thanks again team.

The staff at Silk Court, like, any care homes, are overworked, but this has never impacted how friendly and helpful they are.
They continue to make efforts to improve their space, and my family feel really at ease with my father being at the home.

Dad was admitted from the hospital after several weeks of treatment for a fall and memory loss. As I live in North Wales and don't drive, I was unable to visit prior to admission. After reading the government website and speaking to staff, my mind was soon put at ease. They were fabulous in helping
coordinate the delivery of things Dad needed as well as a hospital appointment I was unable to travel down for. We were able to come down for several days last week. It was wonderful to finally put faces to the voices. My brother and I couldn't be happier with the care and the home in general. It is clean and fresh; Dad's room is spacious with an en-suite bathroom, but the thing which stands out is that the staff really care. They were all so kind and considerate. During Dad's stay, they have contacted us several times to keep us updated or to get information which they will use to try to jog memories as Dad appears to have lost a massive part of his life from the long-term memory. Dad is happy there.

Silk Court put on a Platinum Jubilee Celebration Party for residents and their family/friends. It couldn't have been more fun! Such a lovely opportunity for residents and visitors to engage with each other and staff, and such a great welcome from the home. It was very clear a lot of time and effort
had been put into its planning and all-round input from everyone; such fun, so creative and happy. Well done all at Silk Court!

The service provided is very good, and the staff are excellent. This is a great care home for my mother. I looked around a lot before making the difficult decision to move my mother. I live in London, so this is also convenient for me.
The home is kept very clean, and the food is good.
The home also
looks after residents with Dementia, which was a deciding factor for me.
I would highly recommend this care home.

I have had very limited contact with staff due to Covid restrictions. Those I have dealt with have been very helpful, engaged and thoroughly committed to the residents. In my experience in the NHS, the quality of management shapes rather culture of a team, and I am extremely impressed with both at Silk
Court. There is always a warm and personable reception awaiting. The home seems to be very proactive in arranging activities for the residents. My brother-in-law seems very content there.

Since my mother's arrival at Silk Court, she has been treated with patience, kindness and respect. She finds change very upsetting, but the staff made the transition extremely smooth and cater for her every need. She is comfortable at expressing herself to them, and the staff actively listen and act
upon her concerns and issues. My mother has found these current times of Covid-19 very stressful and upsetting, but the staff have taken the time to explain the need for safety and ensured that she is kept informed of all changes that affect her. As a family, we are also welcomed into the home and listened to and recently, enabled us to celebrate her special birthday with her, whilst still observing social distance. I would highly recommend this residence to others - the staff are professional yet approachable, have high regard for health and safety and are always looking to improve their delivery of residents' experiences.

All interaction and communication with Silk Court during this last year has remained extremely professional and reassuringly caring. It is clear their workload has increased with regards to Covid testing as well as the management of creating space and opportunities to accommodate visiting. Nonetheless,
management has more than risen to the challenge and have kept relatives promptly up to date with changing rules and every effort taken to implement visiting arrangements. I visit a resident who looks very settled, content and well turned out. Regular and detailed feedback has been up to date and available on request. I feel assured her care remains sound and of good quality. I find staff and management approachable, friendly and professional.

I am the main carer for my mother-in-law, who is 94. This was the first time she has been in respite, so the process was completely new for me.
From the outset, the guidance was exceptional. The home administrator is first-class. I was guided through the process effortlessly from the initial enquiry
to the admittance day and then through the visits and finally picking up on leaving day. All staff I have been in contact with have been highly professional but very friendly at the same time, always with a smile. My mother-in-law enjoyed her stay and looked well, fresh and happy when I collected her.
The Covid procedures are not rigid, which is very comforting from drop off, visiting and collection. This was a three-week respite stay.
I highly recommend this particular care home to anyone considering using it for their own relatives.
I will certainly be using it in the future.

I and my brother would like to thank all the staff and management for a great job caring for my mum and all the other residents throw the pandemic.
It was the first time that we were allowed to visit Mum in more than 5 months; I was just blown away by how well she looked; it was great to see her looking
so well.
