Excellent experience overall. Staff are very kind, patient and caring. They deal with my grandma's special needs very well. They make great efforts to adopt a sense of community and do a lot to include the residents family and friends.

I had reservation on homes as we never experienced homes. After the initial concerns, I have been pleasantly surprised by the level of care by the staff. The staff take excellent care. The decor could do with some TLC.

I and often my hustand have visited the resident who is our close friend nearly every week since she came to Mornington Hall. At every visit we have found the staff warm, helpful and friendly, creating an atmosphere of calm and security. Those concerned with activities are particularly brilliant in
terms of getting residents active, in collective activities. Every festival holiday is celebrated with imagination, enthusiasm and care, involving residents to a level it's hard to believe, but clearly achievable. All the workers here deserve our appreciation and thanks.

My father suffers with vascular dementia and advanced Alzeimers with BPSD. The move into Mornington Hall in January 2025 followed a long spell within Newham MH Services. He seemed calm and settled in his new surroundings quickly. The accommodation is good, clean and bright (window onto garden) with
all the necessary equipment required to make him feel safe and comfortable. The care staff and nurses are always very welcoming, caring, helpful and friendly. My father's needs are attended to quickly and professionally with dignity. Thank you for giving us back some peace of mind.

Betty is made to feel very welcome in the care home. She was an independent person and sometimes difficult to make friends with but she seemed as happy as she could be in a care home. I received regular calls from staff regarding her wellbeing and of any concerns regarding her health.

I found all the staff and nursing team, so kind and considerate to my aunt and myself, nothing is too much trouble. Every time I rang, somebody was able to give me information and I didn't feel rushed. I could see clearly that there is care and consideration. And I felt and still feel that my aunt was
in very safe hands. I cannot thank everybody enough for all the care given, it means a lot to me.

My Uncle passed away recently. The day and night staff dealt with this situation in the appropriate manner. I am extremely impressed and grateful with how it was dealt with. They gave my Uncle amazing care and he told us all about it. We were always treated with kindness and respect when visiting. I
would highly recommend this care home to everyone.

Staff are helpful and friendly. Care home is clean and well-maintained. Food is good and always with choice of menu. Activities are provided for residents and access to grounds and gardens are available. Safety is helped by the provision of grab rails in bath and toilet areas.

Overall, she has more recently settled in pretty well and as far as I can tell, seems genuinely contented. Even though she must find everything rather bewildering. Her double incontinence is still an issue and I know her washing and showering as well as toileting can still be somewhat challenging for
staff. She requires regular prompting to even carry out basic tasks, brushing teeth, hygiene, dressing etc. Her medication appears to have had an effect of calming her mood disturbance, but she is now barely able to communicate. The home is very good at organising activities and this has had a positive impact on preventing her social isolation.

Activities, a good range of activities, it's obvious a lot of thought and effort have been put into them. The Caribbean themed day was very enjoyable. All the staff worked hard to ensure everyone had a good time. Well done! also, the BBQ in July was great. This care home is also a pleasant one where
the residents are well looked after in so many ways. It's far better than the one my loved one previously attended.

My husband has Parkinson's and dementia and is very difficult to nurse. He has postural hypertension and falls very easily. He has one-to-one nursing. I have nothing but praise for the care he is given. The staff work very hard to supply my husband with all his needs. The activities coordinator is superb,
involving my husband in as many activities as possible. I have nothing but praise for the care my husband receives. I am very grateful to all the staff.

We were at the Hall to support our brother on the 13th of February at the Valentine's Tea Party.
We are extremely pleased with the entertainment and the care given to the residents during the party. The residents were encouraged to take part. Our brother loves dancing, and he was encouraged to dance,
in fact, the organiser danced with him which helped him immensely. He managed to dance on his own albeit holding onto his Zimmer frame.
The staff looked after the residents and made sure they were not neglected.
The food was delicious. The residents and the visitors enjoyed the food and the beverage.
The entertainer was great. His selection of songs suited everyone. He kept the momentum going well.
Overall a great successful event. I take my hat off to the organisers of this party. A job well done.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.779)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.779) out of 10 for Mornington Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 61 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 61 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.779 for Mornington Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (573 Excellents x 5) + (121 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 711 Ratings = 4.779
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mornington Hall Care Home is based on 61 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 120 registered maximum number of service users is 24, which has been reached with 61 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
