I joined Barchester Healthcare in 1998. Before that, I worked in the NHS where I developed my passion - Caring for Older People. After I qualified as an RGN, I continued to develop my career by studying BSc in Nursing Studies, a Diploma in Orthopaedics and an MSc in Health Sciences.

The team and I are committed to ensuring that the residents have a good quality of life. This is working with evidence-based practices or projects like nutrition, non-pharmaceutical interventions, and life story work and we advocate the Whole Home Approach Model. We are proud to have consistently achieved good reports and reviews from those who know us. This is a very happy home and you are very welcome to visit us.

I am Radha. I have been part of Queens Court since 1996. My journey began here as a care assistant. I have been provided with numerous learning opportunities and I became a Care Practitioner in 2015. Queens Court recognised my capabilities and I was supported to pursue my dream of becoming a Nurse. I graduated the last year in 2019 and currently enjoying exploring the life of a nurse.

I have been a dedicated nurse at Queens Court since 2019, committed to providing high-quality care to our residents. My focus is not only on ensuring the well-being of those we care for but also on fostering a strong, empowered, and passionate team. I believe that when staff feel supported and valued, they deliver the best possible care.

As a Speak Up Champion, I actively promote honesty, open communication, and a safe space for everyone to voice concerns and share ideas. Creating an environment where both residents and staff feel heard is essential to maintaining a positive and compassionate care home. I am proud to be part of a team that strives for excellence and continuously works to improve the lives of our residents.

I have been working at Queens Court since 2005. During this period of time, I am a strong advocate of the Whole Home Approach. We implemented this model several years ago. I am delighted to see staff work in different departments, develop their skills and get promoted. But most of all I am passionate about improving the quality of life of my residents. This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible team that we have here. I enjoy my job as head of hotel services; it has boosted my confidence and inspired me to achieve more.

I have worked for Barchester for over 10 years, where I have gained a wide range of experience in the property services department.

At Queens Court, my responsibilities are to ensure that all statutory requirements are up to date and that safety comes first for everyone in the home.

I qualified as the first Care Practitioner at Queens Court Barchester Health Care. This is a relatively new role and is very exciting. I support the nurses and contribute to the provision and monitoring of the care of our residents. I am also the training and induction champion for the home.

My role as the Dementia Care Champion is pivotal within a Memory Lane Community. Dementia Care Champions receive additional training for the Dementia Care Team and act as coaches within our home. As the Dementia Care Champion for Queens Court. I also work closely with a Dementia Care Specialist to ensure that good Dementia care is being maintained and that any potential 'issues' have a quick resolution.

As a Nutrition Champion, my role is to ensure that the nutritional needs of all residents are consistently met. I work collaboratively with the community SALT (Speech and Language Therapy) team and the Dietitian Team to support individuals with specific dietary and swallowing requirements. Through this partnership, I help ensure that every resident receives safe, appropriate, and nutritionally balanced meals that promote their health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

My role as Dignity Champion is that support Barchester's commitment to provide high-quality care.

Ensuring that dignity is at the heart of everything we do in our homes. We promote activities within our care home, that encourage colleagues to access and share best practices and stories of success in relation to dignity.

Using appropriate resources that fit our local environment.

My role is to support Barchester's commitment is providing high-quality end-of-life care within our care homes and raise awareness and disseminate knowledge amongst my colleagues to ensure best practices in end-of-life care.

I enjoy being part of the Activities Team, as it allows me to contribute positively to residents’ daily lives and overall well-being. I have a strong interest in supporting residents’ happiness, which I achieve through delivering Namaste Therapy.

My role involves providing personalised, holistic therapy sessions tailored to each resident’s needs. These sessions include welcoming residents in a calm and reassuring manner, followed by gentle hand and head massage, relaxation and breathing exercises, and nail care. I also support hydration and sensory stimulation, including touch and flavour, as well as reminiscence activities.

Each session takes place in a comfortable and tranquil environment, enhanced by the use of a diffuser and soothing essential oils to promote a deep sense of peace and wellbeing.

Andy is loved by the residents, you can meet him in Queens Court on Mondays and Thursdays and conducts individual and group classes.

Kim is an excellent Chef who carefully plans all meals to make them diverse, colourful and delicious.

I have recently joined Barchester, and the first time I came to Queens Court was for an interview for my current role. From the minute I walked in the front door, I was met with smiles and a feeling of warmth. I felt at ease even though I had an interview to undergo with our General Manager. Since then, I have been in awe of how deeply staff and management care about what they do. I look forward to continuing to deliver the Barchester standard alongside such a dedicated team. Having a background in hospitality and care home administration, I look forward to using my skills to continuously learn and ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
