Queens Court is based in the heart of Wimbledon SW19. This unique city boutique care home is located in a residential street just minutes away from the train, tube and tram service. Easily located beside the newly rebranded Wimbledon Quarter, Queens Court offers person centred care to those who require respite, convalescence, dementia and nursing care.

Staff are well trained in Dementia Care, up to date clinical courses and the Gold Standards Framework for End of Life Care. The home always has qualified nurses on duty as well as senior care staff. There is a ‘getting to know you’ booklet and the team know residents very well. They provide exceptional personalised care and offer a range of activities to meet everyone’s likes. A retained GP visits every week or when required.

The team ensures that the residents feel comfortable, maintaining their independence and ensuring they feel as active as possible. The Activity Co-coordinator organises amazing and interesting events and outings in the minibus. These activities are part of the package of care.

The Head Chef and his team ensures that seasonal menu in the Courtyard Restaurant and room service is of the highest standard and quality. The produce is fresh and they are trained to provide the required textures if required.

The spacious, contemporary interiors all have Wi-Fi access and are conducive to relaxation and create a feeling of relaxation and homeliness. Some bedrooms have their own patio space, all have flat screen televisions provided and can accommodate personal furniture and pictures.

I have been visiting a close friend for nearly three years now. Sadly, she has recently passed away and if it had to be, I couldn't have wished for a better place in which she should spend her final days. Throughout her time there, she was treated with respect, care and love and helped to cope with
her gradual decline into the nightmare of dementia. Friends and family were treated, always, with warmth and security and made to feel a part of the wonderful world of Queen's Court.
Reply from Shaaron Caratella, General Manager at Barchester Queens Court Care HomeYou have been a regular visitor to your friend. We looked forward to your visits because you had a long friendship with her. These visits were precious to her and without fail you were a familiar part of her life in the time she was at Queens Court. Thank you for your kind comments, which I will share with the team. I hope that we will continue to see you here.

I am extremely happy to have my mother residing at Barchester Queens Court. The decision was made after witnessing their loving and compassionate care during her respite stay. I am always greeted by the warm and friendly staff and this continues throughout the attention to Mum’s care, comfort, and wellbeing.
It’s always reassuring and wonderful to see Mum participating in the numerous activities and socialising happily. The environment is extremely clean, comfortable, and well maintained. It is always a pleasure to visit Mum and leave knowing she’s at ‘home’. I am extremely happy and confident that Mum receives exceptional care at all times from the wonderful and caring team at Queens Court.

My mother who is 99, has led a fully independent life, cooking each day and brilliantly caring for herself. Sadly, having a fall has completely changed her whole situation. Queens Court staff have shown great patience in settling Mum in. All staff, whatever their employment is an absolute credit to
the home. They are all wonderful and a delight to know.
Reply from Shaaron Caratella, General Manager at Barchester Queens Court Care HomeThank you for your very kind review. I came to Queens Court Care Home post-operatively, in great pain and with limited mobility. The staff were patient, caring and attentive as I could not get in or out of bed unaided, which meant they had to attend several times through the night. Most of all I noticed how they dealt with the old and
most infirm with cheerfulness and what seemed to me, genuine love and compassion. I concluded that many care workers must have a genuine calling to this type of work. A good range of activities was provided and staff made great efforts to encourage all to attend. Food was excellent and beautifully served both in the dining room and individual rooms. I would have no hesitation in recommending Queens Court Care Home as a place for much-loved elderly relatives.

It is so kind of you to write this very positive review. It was difficult to manage a straightforward recovery when you had so much pain, but we worked together, and you went home within your planned time. Well done to you too. Thank you for mentioning the night staff as well as the day staff. Your comments are most appreciated.

This was such a hard thing to do, putting my mother-in-law into respite for 3 weeks so we could go on a much-needed holiday. We were told of Barchester Queens Court Care Home and decided to have a look. We were very impressed with what we saw so we decided this was the place. While we were away, our

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.866)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.866) out of 10 for Barchester Queens Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.866 for Barchester Queens Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (526 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 596 Ratings = 4.866
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Queens Court Care Home is based on 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 50 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I am delighted to see staff work in different departments, develop their skills and get promoted. But most of all I am passionate about improving the quality of life of my residents. This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible team that we have here. I enjoy my job as head of hotel services; it has boosted my confidence and inspired me to achieve more.
