Overall Experience
I thank every single member of staff at Queens Court for the wonderful and loving care and support they gave my Mother-in-law during her whole time there, all the way until her last day and also for all the support they gave us.

A wonderful care home. A home from home. Thank you so much. We cherish all our lovely memories with Mum and all of you there. Looking forward to the next summer tea party and barbecue in the garden. Amazing carers and manager who in my heart became friends. Thank you. All the very best to all of you. Lots of love from the whole family.

Reply from Shaaron Caratella, General Manager at Barchester Queens Court Care Home

Thank you to you and your family for your heartfelt comments. You were all very close to your mother in law (mother, sister, grandmother) and must have lots of lovely memories. She was all things to all people, she noticed everything, had a great sense of humour and was very appreciative of all that was done for her. We miss her too and look forward to seeing you when we can.

I cannot recommend Queens Court highly enough. It is both professional and friendly with an overriding feeling of safety. The rooms are airy and fastidiously clean. The meals are of a very high standard and the residents are looked after extremely well. But the one thing that really stands out for me is the kindness of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for the residents and the visitors and I have enjoyed many delicious treats including a birthday cake. Thank you so much for looking after my aunt so well.

Reply from Shaaron Caratella, Admin at Barchester Queens Court Care Home
Dear Charlotte

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Looking after your aunt was our pleasure and we remember how much she enjoyed the cake. Birthday parties and other activities help us to get to know more about the resident and their families which in turn help us to be person-centred. It is very nice to know that this is appreciated.

Review from Nicholas N (Son of Resident) published on 1 May 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother lived at Queens Court from June 2019 - March 2020, where she died aged 88. She suffered from dementia and was effectively paralysed from the waist down. She was not always the easiest of people to deal with because of her losses of mental lucidity. Despite all this, the staff at Queens Court could not have been more caring, understanding and patient with her, to which she did respond I was pleased to hear on many occasions. The atmosphere at Queens Court was always welcoming and friendly, her room spotless and airy, and the staff full of smiles and cheery conversation, as well as being factual and helpful if asked pertinent questions on my mother's condition. Guests were always given refreshment and nothing seemed too much trouble. I saw other care homes, and there was no question that Queens Court was head and shoulders way above many others. The manager and her whole team do an outstanding job and should be hugely congratulated in these very difficult times. Highly recommended.

Dear Nicholas, It is very nice of you to praise us. These are difficult times and we really appreciate you finding the time to write this. Your mother was a special lady who was affectionate and knew what she wanted. She was witty and had a good sense of humour. We miss her.

My aunt has been a resident for the last 3 and a half months. We have all been very happy with the level of care she has received. The staff have been very gentle and caring towards her. As a fluent Italian speaker, she has particularly enjoyed speaking to one person, who has made her feel very happy! She is leaving to go home otherwise she would have remained at Queens Court. Thank you for your care and attention to detail.

The staff were all very friendly, kind and patient. On the whole, I received excellent care and would recommend. Three staff in particular, but all the staff were good. The rooms were nice, kept clean, as were the washing facilities. The food was good and varied. For general, overall care I would recommend Queens Court highly.

My father has been extremely well looked after during his six weeks at Queens Court. He was very reluctant to go into a home, but the management and staff made him very welcome. The constant care and attention have actually improved his overall alertness during his stay. Whilst he is glad to be returning home, he has enjoyed his time in Queens Court.

The staff at Queens Court Care Home made my mother's transition from home to care home effortless and seamless. They treated her with dignity and respect and afforded her space to settle. There was little fuss but genuine warmth. Always smiles welcomed me, the anxious daughter on every visit and both my mother and I have experienced nothing but efficient kindliness.

My friend is a proud, independent individual who has found it very difficult to accept his increasing reliance on others.
The staff have recognised this and have consistently treated him with understanding and dignity.

He is also difficult to look after medically and the staff have been very good at giving medication and allowing for his disabilities.

My uncle came to stay at Queens Court at very short notice for a period of respite care. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated and he has remained there for considerably longer than anticipated. I cannot praise the staff and home highly enough. The manager is the epitome of professionalism and the charge nurse is excellent in his approach with a very ill and irascible resident. Queens Court is excellent.
