The Sidcup offers nursing and residential care, both long-term and short stay care.

The home is a purpose-built with modern comforts and conveniences. It prides itself on its warm and homely environment where residents can relax and feel safe inside the home and in the gardens. All bedrooms have en suite facilities and are furnished to a high standard.

The home consists of two floors, with dining rooms and lounges on each floor. The home also benefits from its own cinema lounge, large well- maintained gardens, its own hairdressing salon, and private lounge, ideal for family events and celebrations. The home has visiting professionals such as physiotherapists and chiropodists.

As an enhanced service to residents, weekly GP visits are conducted at The Sidcup Care Home, enabling residents to receive regular, personalised medical reviews as part of their approach to person-centred care.

At mealtimes a wide range of nutritious dishes are offered, always made with fresh ingredients. Residents’ dietary needs and personal preferences are always taken into account by the chef. The chef will visit residents to make tailored menus if necessary. There are regular tea rounds throughout the day with fresh cakes after lunch.

As well as regular, organised activities such as quizzes, bingo, film afternoons, board games and arts and crafts sessions, trips out to local places of interest, visiting entertainers and pantomimes, as well as tai chi and holistic massage and aromatherapy.

My mum was at The Sidcup for nearly two years. Sadly, she passed away just after Christmas. Throughout her time as a resident at the home, she was cared for with kindness and dignity. The management and staff on the Knoll floor were always supportive and positive. The atmosphere of the home is welcoming
and cheerful, the food choices are good and the activities are varied. My mum was shy and never wanted to join in much, but the staff always tried to encourage and include her, whilst allowing her to make her own choices. She was cared for professionally and kindly at the end and I would like to thank the home for looking after her so well.

Mum was very well-looked after during her week's stay at 'The Sidcup.'
All the staff were very kind and caring towards her. A couple of times she experienced bad nights. On these occasions the staff attended to her promptly and were able to reassure her.
Mum particularly enjoyed going in the pretty
garden and enjoying the fresh air and opportunity to sit outside in the sun. She also enjoyed the company of many of the residents and the lovely staff who were so kind. Thank you Knoll floor!

My dad is a resident at The Sidcup Care Home having stayed short visits previously he is happy to stay permanently now. The home is very comfortable and clean. Rooms provide privacy, security and a safe environment and residents freely walk or wheelchair around the home to the lounge for TV, activities
or chatting in the dining room. All staff (reception, maintenance, cleaners, nurses, kitchen, management) are friendly and care about and chat with residents. The food and variety I hear are decent but it's the warm professional staff that really make it a happy home. I visit a lot and agree with my dad, it's a very good care home.

My mum was only in The Sidcup Care Home for three nights following her discharge from hospital but I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received during her short stay. My mum was in the very late stages of dementia and Parkinson’s disease and therefore couldn’t communicate or do anything for
herself. In spite of that she was treated with such care it was heartwarming to see. All of the staff showed great care and patience with her as well as being incredibly polite and helpful to me and my dad during our obvious upset.
I was always worried about the quality of the care home my mum would ultimately end up in, but I needn’t of worried; The Sidcup Care Home was excellent for the short time we needed it and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone if their loved ones required nursing care. From our initial contact to my mother's death, all of the staff at Sidcup were sensitive to our situation and feelings. Thank you.

My family, my husband and myself are delighted with the superb care my dad has received from the first day he arrived at the home. We have to fit our visits around his numerous activities. He took residence about mid-March 2023 he looks amazing, has put on weight and is always busy. Wonderful staff.

My father has been staying at The Sidcup Care Home since April 2022. The overall experience was excellent. The most important thing to me is knowing my father is safe and well looked after, The Sidcup Care Home has achieved this already. All the staff I come across are friendly and supportive. Although
my father is not able to communicate verbally, I know that he's settled in very well and likes the home very much.

For the most part, my cousin received very good care from several exceptional staff, for which the family is truly grateful. However, the night care fell short of that given by the day care team and this appears to have been a common observation by other resident family members. Catering for the most
part was good but again, a common observation was food served that was incapable of being cut/prepared by residents (and in some cases by staff). Very disappointed in handling the recovery of the body which was demanded just four hours after her passing.

My cousin is very happy that she is being listened to. Understandably, the waiting time for her pads to be changed after she has cleared her bowels can be from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. Knowing the staff always makes my cousin feel at home. Thank you.

Mum has been in the home for two months now, when she arrived from the hospital she was in poor condition. The home has done a wonderful job getting her better. Now and again there is a little wait for Mum to get her pad changed but overall majority of the staff do a good caring job. Management has
been very helpful and understanding towards me and Mum.

The residential care team have been brilliant with my mum. She moved in there in February from Northumberland to be closer to family in London. At that point, she was in shock at moving from her bungalow to a care home, anti-social and did not want anything to do with the activities. The team reassured
me that all would be fine given time but I was very anxious and guilty about the whole thing. Fast forward a couple of months and what a transformation! She has settled in so well, takes part in all the activities and sees her extended family far more frequently. She now has a better quality of life and my anxiety and guilt have melted away. All I can say is a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team of carers who do a fantastic job not only for their residents but also for the wider family.
