The Sidcup Care Home

I was welcomed in a friendly manner by the secretarial staff and daily staff attendants. Direction to dining rooms, lounge and events were explained and encourgaed. Advanced meal options adequate and variety of food good. A good experience during my 2 week stay due to a fall at home requiring treatment at hospital and whilst my family were on holiday.

My wife spent 2 and a half weeks in Sidcup Care Home and she received such great care from the staff. I could tell from the cleanliness of the room and bed that all was good. And my wife had clean clothes on every day too. The staff from management down were very kind to me as well.

Excellent communication on admission. Staff polite, pleasant, informative. Care provision, Mum's needs were very well catered for. Food good, many choices. Alternatives provided. Senior carers knowledge of conditions, medications and action taken when Mum was unwell was excellent. Entertainment team: very patient, variety of entertainments and all residents encouraged to take part.

I cannot praise The Sidcup Care Home enough. Excellent leadership, great carers who really looked after my dear mum. They genuinely care and are very compassionate and kind. They were always happy to answer questions and responded very positively to requests we had. They tried so hard to help with my mum's food too. Kitchen staff, cleaning staff excellent. Ten out of ten!

He only was shaved twice in 9 days, left buzzing when colostomy bag come off for 20 minutes. Clothes disappeared or not ready. Totally horrible experience for him. He won't be back!

Our dad came into the care home last September. To date, I cannot praise the home enough. The care, the cleanliness, the dedication, the meal choices, exceed all expectations. The staff here from house services to the caring team all go above and beyond the extra mile. To leave your parent in a care home, I imagine is one of the most difficult decisions we ever have to make in life. This care home is a real gem of a find, we honestly as a family cannot fault it in any way. The real bonus is how they listen and act upon the voice of the family. Thank you.

I am so happy and extremely grateful that my mother spent her last few months of life in this beautiful home with the most caring and dedicated staff, who she loved and who made us so welcome. Mum was safe and well cared for, having a lovely room which we are thankful for. I loved visiting Mum here, nothing was any trouble for the professional, lovely staff, a marvelous team. I was impressed by all the different activities for residents and the hard work of the staff. I cannot thank you enough.

I am happy here at this care home. I have a nice room and my own TV. Regular meals, a cup of tea in between. Medication seen to. The staff are excellent and work well together. I love the social team, always happy and run lots of entertainment. I would recommend this care home.

Dad used to be in a very bad mood but in the past few months he has been in a very good mood and it's because of all the nurses here, especially two ladies who have been fun.

Our dad was on Granville floor for only two weeks as, unfortunately, he passed away. While he was there, we were very happy with the excellent level of care that he received. All the staff we met were all very professional, kind and caring. They were always friendly and took time to speak to Dad and always kept us updated on his health and welfare. The room was nice and he enjoyed all the meals which were prepared for him.

I'd like to thank 'all staff' on Granville who made the last 18 months of my lovely mum's life so very comfortable with their dedicated careand touching kindness from the day that she arrived to her last moments. RIP Mum: 17/08/1927 - 29/11/2023

The team did a fantastic job looking after my dad while he got over a fall. They treated him with dignity and professionalism at all times.

My mum was at The Sidcup for nearly two years. Sadly, she passed away just after Christmas. Throughout her time as a resident at the home, she was cared for with kindness and dignity. The management and staff on the Knoll floor were always supportive and positive. The atmosphere of the home is welcoming and cheerful, the food choices are good and the activities are varied. My mum was shy and never wanted to join in much, but the staff always tried to encourage and include her, whilst allowing her to make her own choices. She was cared for professionally and kindly at the end and I would like to thank the home for looking after her so well.

Mum particularly enjoyed going in the pretty garden and enjoying the fresh air and opportunity to sit outside in the sun. She also enjoyed the company of many of the residents and the lovely staff who were so kind. Thank you Knoll floor!

I would like to thank everyone on the ward for their kindness and care for the kindness and care I have received during my stay on the ward. Many thanks for everything and for helping me get back on my feet.

Overall we were pleased with the care our mother received.

My mother came in for very short-notice respite care. I am very pleased with the care she received. She has thoroughly enjoyed herself and will be back when we go on holiday again.

My dad is a resident at The Sidcup Care Home having stayed short visits previously he is happy to stay permanently now. The home is very comfortable and clean. Rooms provide privacy, security and a safe environment and residents freely walk or wheelchair around the home to the lounge for TV, activities or chatting in the dining room. All staff (reception, maintenance, cleaners, nurses, kitchen, management) are friendly and care about and chat with residents. The food and variety I hear are decent but it's the warm professional staff that really make it a happy home. I visit a lot and agree with my dad, it's a very good care home.

I was always worried about the quality of the care home my mum would ultimately end up in, but I needn’t of worried; The Sidcup Care Home was excellent for the short time we needed it and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone if their loved ones required nursing care. From our initial contact to my mother's death, all of the staff at Sidcup were sensitive to our situation and feelings. Thank you.
