Purley Gardens offers high-quality personalised residential, dementia and nursing care to those in the Purley, Surrey and South London areas. Respite care is also available whilst you recover after a hospital stay or just need a break from your everyday routine. The care home has 119 beds and on-site nursing facilities.

The beautiful home sits away from the road and has excellent transport links to London, the south coast and the M25. The home is within easy reach of Whitgift Shopping Centre and Purley Downs Golf Course as well as a short drive to Croydon University Hospital. Purley Gardens provides its own hair salon, cafe and more!

The home has panoramic, landscaped gardens which are designed for wheelchair use, perfect for a gentle stroll and is pet friendly, so your four-legged friends can also move in.

Personalised care is given by a passionate and dedicated team of staff who ensure that all residents’ individual needs and requirements are met; whether that is arranging for your favourite meal to be cooked by the chef or arranging activities for you to enjoy.

Purley Gardens encourages residents to stay active, make new friends, nurture interests, learn new skills and pursue favourite hobbies. Their Activities Co-ordinator arranges a whole host of events, trips and onsite activities so there is always something to do.

My Mum, aged 84, stayed for Respite Care with Purley Gardens Care Home for just over two weeks in June 2024. We were very impressed with everything at Purley Gardens, all the staff were so friendly and helpful with a positive outlook, creating a wonderful atmosphere for my Mum and the other residents.
Upon my Mum's arrival to stay in Purley Gardens, we were greeted by so many of the staff, who were excited and happy to meet my Mum and the Head Nurse was very thorough, asking lots of questions about my Mum's health. This put us all at ease that she was going to be well looked after. Mum enjoyed all the food and meals whilst she was there, which she said was to an excellent standard and she enjoyed the social aspect of Purley Gardens and made friends with the staff and other residents.
A big thank you to all the staff at Purley Gardens for making my Mum's stay an enjoyable, memorable, and happy time, we are all very grateful indeed.

Overall a fantastic place, I feel assured my husband is well cared for.
The home has great food and an excellent range of activities each day which I'm really impressed with.
I'm relieved my husband is here, I don't have to pretend it's ok because it's better than I thought it would be.

Nice room, good food and friendly staff. There is a pleasant atmosphere and plenty of activities to occupy the residents. Well-kept garden to sit outside when the weather permits. I am happy that my uncle is well looked after.

My aunt moved into Purley Gardens back in June 2017. At 99+ and quite frail we wondered how long she might last. With lots of loving care, she sadly passed away on 7th December this year.
Despite changing staff over that time, she was well cared for and I am delighted she could spend her last years
in a lovely room at this very modern care home.

Excellent care was provided to both my parents during their respite time in the home.
The room was ideal, all staff were very efficient and very friendly to all members of the family.

My cousin has been in the Purley Gardens Care home for the past 3 and a half years. She has physical needs and Alzheimer’s Syndrome, and from the beginning, she has been shown great kindness by the people who work here.
At the beginning of this year, due to her increasing needs, it was suggested
that she be moved to the Reminiscence department, which specialises in dealing with residents who have dementia. I was worried about the change, but I spoke at length to management and to the staff on the concierge (always so helpful), who suggested a visit.
My mind was immediately put at ease when I met the manager of Reminiscence. She has created a wonderful community, in which everyone who works there goes way beyond what is expected. My cousin has settled in so well and I cannot thank Purley Gardens enough for the exceptional care that has been shown to her.

Following an extended period my mother-in-law spent in hospital we reviewed and visited a number of local care homes to try and find the best we could for her. I think I can honestly say that Purley Gardens was head and shoulders above the others. Even at the initial visit, we were struck by the friendliness
of the staff, the general atmosphere of the care home and how much time we were afforded by the Client Liaison Manager. We were given a choice of rooms and the one chosen is a very good size with a view of the garden. Everyone we have encountered has been friendly and helpful. Also in making all the initial arrangements we have found the staff to be highly responsive which is very important. Most significantly my mother-in-law is doing very well in their care and her general health seems to be improving - she loves the food and seems to be flourishing and very happy.

We have used Avery in Purley twice in the past 18 months for respite care for my mother-in-law. The care from the staff is excellent, always very kind to her and lovely that she was remembered from her previous visit. Always difficult putting a member of the family in for respite care but the team at
Purley Gardens help with the transition and make everything as easy as possible.

My mother was cared for very well in reminiscence. She was always clean, dressed nicely and treated with dignity. When she passed away on 12/7/23, the staff were so wonderful to me and gave me a lot of support.

Mum has been in Signature with dementia for 15 years, and believe, was the longest resident living in the Purley home. Would have to say she has been looked after with compassion, care, love and kindness by the wonderful staff in Rem, also thanks to all the amazing team working on the 2nd floor.
Have
no hesitation in recommending this excellent care home to families and friends who desire a first-class environment for their loved ones. Also, thanks must go to the deputy managers for all their consistent kindness and support over the years.
After Mum's recent passing, we had a wake in the activities lounge - which have to say, far exceeded our expectations. The food prepared by the chef was utterly delicious, and the two staff assisting with functioning this event were amazing and went well above and beyond the call of duty to make this an amazing celebration for Mum's life.

Mother-in-law was hospitalised following a hip and thigh break and became more immobile and confused. She moved into a beautiful room with all her furniture and belongings that instantly made her feel at home. My mother was at Signature Purley for over two and a half years. The care given over this time was very good. Members of staff went out of their way to look after her and help her, not just carers and medical personnel, but administrators also. Sadly my mother passed away recently, but the end-of-life
care she received was exceptional, and the staff showed how much they cared.

Following a very poor experience at another nursing home where my mum was extremely unhappy, and there were safeguarding issues, my mum moved to Signature at Purley. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, and there was an immediate change in my mum. I was able to spend more quality time with
my mum and participate in weekly entertainment etc. Staff were quick to adapt things to ensure my mum was as happy as possible and kept me fully updated with significant events. Mum was well cared for, food was excellent and plentiful, visitors were made to feel welcome, and the laundry lady took pride in her work and was helpful. All staff should be proud of themselves for providing such wonderful care to their customers. 2022 was a very difficult year for me, and I am so glad that I made the decision to move Mum to Signature at Purley. Sadly my mum passed in July after five weeks at Purley, and I will always be grateful to all staff that I was able to spend five weeks of quality time with Mum. Thank you.

I have always been very impressed with the level of care provided by all staff in reminiscence. The nurses are excellent and thorough in providing updates from a medical perspective.     2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months.
