St Mary’s provides quality residential and nursing care, whilst also specialising in palliative, respite and post operative convalescence care. They also offer nursing care for people living with Parkinson's, Huntington's disease and dementia (dependent on need).

Residents have a choice of places to find company or quiet time – from the vintage café, comfortable lounges, to the lovingly tended gardens. With high ceilings, big rooms and sash windows, residents can enjoy ample light in a refreshing open environment.

Many staff have been at St Mary's for a long time; they enjoy getting to know residents and often build warm friendships with them.

The home is ideally located with Luton town just a short walk away, or you can hop on a bus right outside the home.

Dietary needs are discussed on arrival and incorporated into a menu of fresh seasonal produce, eaten in the bright and airy dining rooms or in the privacy of clients’ own bedrooms.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests.

Games, outings and entertainments are all part of a varied activities programme, with the calendar including coffee mornings, beauty therapy, musical performances and a themed event each month.

Mum's care is still very good, she is happy. The staff always keep me and the family updated if we have any issues. Both staff and management are always available and make Mum very comfortable.

My mum has been in St Mary's since July. The team have been very caring and supportive. They have built a close relationship with Mum and the family. Our worries and concerns are listened to and addressed. The home is very family orientated and has provided activities for the children as they navigate
this difficult time, this has been helpful when visiting for long periods of time during the school holidays, making things stressful, meaning I can bewith Mum and the children. St Mary's is a home from home and the staff are extended family.

Two weeks ago I accompanied residents to a day out organised by the care home. One resident became sick so the accompanying nurse reassured and calmed him down and gave him medication to treat his illness. I witnessed the nurse go out of the way to do this task with a smile and poise so as not to belittle
the resident who soon felt better. All residents enjoyed their outing and returned back to St Mary's after. A wonderful day out. Well done to the nurse for looking after the resident mentioned above.

I am a resident at St Mary's Care Home. The staff are fantastic, especially one nurse in particular is very good, she always goes the extra mile to ensure I am well cared for. I am well cared for. Nan has been living in St Mary's Care Home for several years. The staff are lovely and friendly, particularly when I and her great-grandchildren visit. Nan's best days are when she moves into her chair and experiences the activities the staff work hard to provide.

The staff and facilities are very good. The premises are clean and tidy and the overall experience is very satisfactory. Highly recommended!
The food is adequate, but very little choice for vegetarians. The ability to choose or specify preference in advance of the meal would be appreciated.

My 95-year-old mother has been a resident at this care home for a few years. She is well looked after by the carers and the staff nurses. One particular staff nurse has been very kind to her in that she spends time with her and speaks to her. She is very professional and friendly. Always has a big smile.
I would like to recommend her for an award. She has always been helpful and updates me regularly on my mum's progress and well-being.

I arrived at St Mary's Care Home in January. I was on an end-of-life care program. With great care from nurses. A particular member of staff has worked her magic with care, especially love. I think she should be nominated for Nurse of the Year for her pure soul has rubbed off on me and for that, I can
only say thanks. I know all the carers and nurses will think I have a favourite but I think you're all great but she is special.

Mum came to St Mary's Care Home in January 2024 after a month in hospital. She has suddenly become unable to look after herself. The staff have treated her with kindness and understanding. Due to her acute hearing and sight loss conversations and understanding can get lost in translation. The staff
are very good with this and know what she likes.

Our mother was transferred to St Mary's for comfort and palliative care following an extended spell in hospital. Having lived independently in her own home for many years, but within 2 days there was no further discussion about moving back home, as she realised how St Mary's was ideally suited to her
needs and the staff made her feel at home from day one. The staff made every effort to learn about Mum. We were able to visit the site before her transfer and select her room, and the staff were again listening to all the details we outlined about Mum's care needs.
Mum remained in the St Marys for just over 4 weeks and we cannot fault the level of care she received, and the communication from staff about how she was between all our visits. The online daily care portal also allowed us to see how she was being cared for and any observations.
We felt great comfort knowing that she spent her final days in a friendly, caring and professional environment with no compromise on her dignity.

During my visits to St Mary's Care Home to see my mother who has dementia, the staff are always helpful and welcoming. The home is consistently spotless each time I visit. Furthermore, I receive regular updates from staff. I can tell my mother is happy and comfortable at St Mary's as she often smiles
and there is laughter when I visit her. This gives me great peace of mind.

I witnessed a very abusive situtation this afternoon at St. Mary's. A senior carer screamed at a resident like screaming at a dog. And in a very aggressive tone. I am shaken myself and now very concerned about the wellbeing of my friend and other elderly patients in the care home. I am sure it was unnecessary
to talk to a human in this manner and the person should be so ashamed as she herself will grow old and perhaps be in a similar helpless situation. I am sure this carer would be very intimidated and upset being talked to in this degrading and highly aggressive tone. Truly awful and traumatising experience! Hopefully this will reach the authorities of BUPA about this shameful incident.

My mother has been a resident of St Mary's Care Home for many years. The staff at the home are very professional and courteous and have looked after Mum very well. She has many challenges which they have coped with professionally especially one nurse in particular but all staff are great too. I fully
