Two weeks ago I accompanied residents to a day out organised by the care home. One resident became sick so the accompanying nurse reassured and calmed him down and gave him medication to treat his illness. I witnessed the nurse go out of the way to do this task with a smile and poise so as not to belittle the resident who soon felt better. All residents enjoyed their outing and returned back to St Mary's after. A wonderful day out. Well done to the nurse for looking after the resident mentioned above.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your family member in our care. It is lovely you accompanied our home on a day out and witnessed the care of our amazing nurses. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
I am a resident at St Mary's Care Home. The staff are fantastic, especially one nurse in particular is very good, she always goes the extra mile to ensure I am well cared for. I am well cared for. I wish this nurse gets a kindness award. I am very happy here. St Mary's Care Home is a very lovely home.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear words like "Kindness" and "Fantastic" being used to describe our care. We hope to continue providing you with the best possible care.
Nan has been living in St Mary's Care Home for several years. The staff are lovely and friendly, particularly when I and her great-grandchildren visit. Nan's best days are when she moves into her chair and experiences the activities the staff work hard to provide.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your nan in our care for several years! We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
My 95-year-old mother has been a resident at this care home for a few years. She is well looked after by the carers and the staff nurses. One particular staff nurse has been very kind to her in that she spends time with her and speaks to her. She is very professional and friendly. Always has a big smile. I would like to recommend her for an award. She has always been helpful and updates me regularly on my mum's progress and well-being.
Thank you for your lovely words. We are so glad to hear that your mother is well looked after and cared for at St Mary's Care Home. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Professional" and "Friendly" being used to describe our staff. We are pleased to hear that you are kept well informed with...
I arrived at St Mary's Care Home in January. I was on an end-of-life care program. With great care from nurses. A particular member of staff has worked her magic with care, especially love. I think she should be nominated for Nurse of the Year for her pure soul has rubbed off on me and for that, I can only say thanks. I know all the carers and nurses will think I have a favourite but I think you're all great but she is special.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your kind words. It is so wonderful to hear that you have had such a great experience at St Mary's Care Home. We are happy to hear you feel like a part of our St Mary's family and we hope St Mary's did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. Thank you for choosing St Mary's for your stay.
My nan has been happy during her stay at St Mary's. She has been well cared for and the staff have been lovely and professional. I have felt safe and happy whilst she has been at St Mary's Care Home. Thank you to all for all your support and the care my nan has received, it's much appreciated.

I am a resident here. Looked after by staff very well. My wife is also here at St Mary's. The staff are very good. We are very happy with the care we get.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave a review for the staff at St Mary's Care Home. We hope that your wife and yourself continue to enjoy your stay at the home and we wish you all the best!
Mum remained in the St Marys for just over 4 weeks and we cannot fault the level of care she received, and the communication from staff about how she was between all our visits. The online daily care portal also allowed us to see how she was being cared for and any observations.
We felt great comfort knowing that she spent her final days in a friendly, caring and professional environment with no compromise on her dignity.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time and we hope St Mary's Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. My mother was admitted for comfort and palliative care in August 2024. From the first contact, the staff and care has been excellent. The family feel really confident that our mum is in the best possible place.

We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
My friend was made welcome on arrival to her respite stay and the carer and many more made her feel welcome. All have taken her wishes into consideration, all helping her to do things in her stay with them. They are polite, courteous to family, friends and my friend and even go above and beyond in the services.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear words like "polite" and "courteous" being used to describe our care. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
I witnessed a very abusive situtation this afternoon at St. Mary's. A senior carer screamed at a resident like screaming at a dog. And in a very aggressive tone. I am shaken myself and now very concerned about the wellbeing of my friend and other elderly patients in the care home. I am sure it was unnecessary to talk to a human in this manner and the person should be so ashamed as she herself will grow old and perhaps be in a similar helpless situation. I am sure this carer would be very intimidated and upset being talked to in this degrading and highly aggressive tone. Truly awful and traumatising experience! Hopefully this will reach the authorities of BUPA about this shameful incident.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience with us and take your review extremely seriously. The health and well-being of our residents is our top priority. We have raised your concerns with the senior management team, and one of the team will be in touch with you shortly if they haven't already done so to ensure this is investigated.
At every visit, the staff are friendly, helpful, considerate and professional.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your kind words. It is always nice to hear words like "Friendly" and "Helpful" being used to describe our staff and we are pleased that you have had a positive experience with having your loved one in our care. Thank you for choosing St Mary's for your loved one's stay.
Mum was struggling before but when they moved her into another room she has been so happy. She sometimes can be hard work but they can deal with her.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave the staff at St Mary's a review. We are so happy that Mum is now settled into the home and enjoying her stay. Thank you again and best wishes!
My mother has been a resident of St Mary's Care Home for many years. The staff at the home are very professional and courteous and have looked after Mum very well. She has many challenges which they have coped with professionally especially one nurse in particular but all staff are great too. I fully recommend St Mary's to anyone considering this home for their loved one.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing your mother with the best possible care and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
He was well looked after and kept comfortable to his last days.
He was always encouraged to do what he could.
All the staff and support workers were very helpful and accommodating.
Thank you.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are pleased to hear our staff did everything possible to adapt your Father's care as needed and help your family through a difficult time. We are saddened to hear of your loss but hope you are able to look back on this experience knowing your Father received the best possible care.
The staff in the home do their best to provide end-of-life care for all residents. Over the few times I have been to the home, I have found distressed patients calling with their buzzers but there was no response from staff. There is a shortage of staff in this BUPA care home. However, all the staff I have met work hard to do their job. They all care and you can see it on their faces. The job is a very difficult one. I have great admiration for all the staff who do the job. Please provide one more member of staff as soon as the budget allows.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is always nice to hear words like "great admiration for all the staff" being used to describe our care. We will certainly pass your comments on to the homes manager and we will discuss your feedback to help them continually improve their...
My mum had advanced dementia. Both she and her family were treated with dignity and respect over the two years Mum resided in St Mary's/ The support and friendship offered to me and other family members as her condition worsened to its inevitable conclusion was wonderful.

The St Mary's staff were so kind and caring to our dad and all that visited him. Sadly he was on end-of-life care. The staff made his final days comfortable. Giving him kindness, compassion and dignity. Thank you so much.

The care my father has received since being here has been superb. Also, any problems with health issues they have explained to me in detail. This has helped me with my dad moving into a care home. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to the manager and the teams.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear words like 'pleasant' and 'helpful' being used to describe our staff. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
My mum has been with St Mary's for three years, and the care, kindness and affection she gets consistently gives her joy in her life every day - even though she has late-stage Alzheimer’s. The staff are very professional, considerate and dedicated to the residents - and creates lovely moments and lots of laughs amidst the very hard work they do. Mum is kept looking beautiful in a very clean and homely environment, enjoys her food and looks forward to seeing her carers every day. It is tough to lose a parent day by day, but it is a huge relief to know that she is so well cared for at St Mary's.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear you are happy with the care provided at St Mary's and that your Mum looks forward to seeing her carers each day. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your Mum's stay as comfortable as possible.
