The home is clean and tidy and staff are super-efficient. My mum was only in the home for about 4 months, and she was very happy with her care, staff were kind, gentle and warm. When my mother died, the staff couldn't do enough. She was treated with respect before and after. I can't thank the staff enough. If I have to go to a home, I will pick St Mary's.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We will certainly pass on your kind words to the relevant staff.
The team deserves the highest praise. As well as the obvious things you look for in a care home they go well beyond this. Nothing is too much trouble, and their kindness and help when mother died on Friday was so appreciated by her family. Our very grateful thanks.
Thank you for your praise. Please accept our condolences and let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you through such a difficult time.
A massive thank you to all the staff who cared for my aunt during the last few weeks of her life. They all displayed great care and patience, to make her stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you again for all your kindness.
Thank you for trusting us with your aunts care. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you or your family.
Most caring and understanding staff, who are willing and able to face and meet my husband's most challenging needs, with his rare and complex syndrome. Warm greetings on each visit and willing to listen to our concerns and needs. My husband has been well looked after and is happy within this environment, he is responsive to all staff, with smiles and eye expression making all the family less anxious.
Thank you for your feedback. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your husband in our care. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
Extremely considerate and caring nurses who go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and who devote themselves to the care of the resident.
It is always lovely hearing feedback from family and friends of our residents, we are very delighted you feel welcome and at ease with us.
All of the team looked after my father very well. I felt he was in good hands and was comfortable leaving him in these hands for the short period he stayed here. They are very compassionate and professional. I know that in the future if I need their service I can be reassured he is in the best hands.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear words like “compassionate” and “professional” being used to describe our care. We hope to see you again in the future.
The facilities are superb and the rooms modern and well equipped. My mum's seven weeks there were peaceful and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending to others needing a care home.
Thank you Jacqui for your feedback. We are sorry about your loss. We hope you can go away from this with fond memories of her last weeks.
My father has been well looked after in the time he has been at St Mary's.
Thank you for trusting us with your father's care.
Really good care. Well run.
My mum has been in residence at St Mary's Care Home for just two months. Whilst it took her three or four weeks to settle she now seems very happy and content and cannot speak more highly of the care and kindness that she receives on a daily basis. That to us as a family is so very important. We visit mum at least every other day and always get a warm and friendly welcome.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always lovely to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is looked after. Thank you for trusting St Marys with your mums care.
Thought the staff considerate and caring.
Thank you for your kind words.
Following a period in hospital, Dad was transferred to St Mary's. Our family were very impressed with the quality of staff who looked after Dad during his all too brief stay of six weeks. Nothing was too much trouble. Anytime one of the family would visit Dad, all the staff greeted us with a smile and a kind word. We know dad was happy with the home and he was made comfortable during his final days on this earth.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. We are saddened with the loss of your father and we can only hope St Mary's could help you through this difficult time.
Having my mum here for the last few days of her life I am very impressed. I have had experience of other care homes but this is by far the friendliest and homeliest I have been to. From the manager down all the staff I have met were lovely. Great food and good parking all in the centre of town. Good job everyone.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are very pleased with your kind words. It is very nice to hear that you can feel at ease with your mum in our care and hope to continue in providing the best possible care.
I travelled on my own to have surgery. Upon my discharge from the hospital, I needed a place to finish my recovery before I could be cleared to travel back to my home country. St. Mary's was everything that I wanted for my recuperation. It was warm, clean, quiet, had good food, and was conveniently located to shops. But what really stood out was the staff. The nurses on duty gave me the peace-of-mind I needed. Everyone was exceptionally caring and attentive to my needs. Though my stay was a short one, I could not have been more satisfied. Thank you to everyone for making me feel welcome and helping me make a speedy recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home. We will certainly share your feedback with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
My father was admitted to St Mary's for palliative care as part of an end of life arrangement. For those few days, my mother and I never left his side. We were all cared for with tender regard and dignity and felt totally supported by all the staff, nursing and domestic. It was the best place next to home for my dad, so much so that St Mary's now has a special place in my heart.

From the moment we were greeted we knew we were in safe and caring hands. Every member of staff was polite and helpful. Dad was treated with dignity and kindness as were we. Simply excellent staff at 'end of life' were superb. Many thanks.

As soon as my wife was informed by the hospital that her father was in an End of Life situation we were desperate to get him moved to a more peaceful environment where he could receive appropriate care and support. St Mary's proved to be the perfect solution. The nursing staff and carers were friendly and empathetic, the atmosphere relaxed and inviting. We received the support that we needed as a family right up to the end.
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your family members passing. We appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team
The first thing we noticed was that St Mary's did not smell. The staff were friendly and caring and seemed to really care about the residents. Management were available and listened and always found time to discuss my father's care. Apart from my father not wanting to be there instead of his own home he felt that he was treated with care by most of the staff. There were some exceptions - so good not excellent!
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team
My stay has been comfortable and I have been treated with great respect.
Even though my father was only in St Mary’s for 3 weeks all the staff knew his name and made his stay enjoyable
Thank you for your review of St Mary's Care Home. We are pleased to hear that your father had an enjoyable stay at the home. We will share your comments with the home manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
