We couldn't fault any of the staff or management at the home. The carers, although often not enough of them usually only 2, went out of their way to provide care and show great consideration for Mum's needs. They were always cheerful although I felt at times they were under a lot of stress. Even at the end of Mum's life, they couldn't do enough and still thought about Mum's needs. The rooms were always cleaned and the bed linen changed regularly. Overall they made Mum's last few months the best they could have been.
Thank you for your review of St Mary's Care Home. We are pleased to hear that the home made your mum's last few months the best they could have been. We will share your comments with the home manager. Our deepest sympathies, the Bupa Customer Care Team.
Mum liked her stay very much. Food was very nice but large portions. Staff very nice and friendly. She enjoyed the afternoon tea party. The home always looked and smelt fresh and clean. Over the two week stay, Mum was able to have an appointment with the hairdresser and chiropodist which she was very happy about.
Thank you for your review of St Mary's Care Home. We are pleased to hear that you and your mum have had a positive experience with the home and appreciate your comments regarding the food and friendly staff. We will share your comments with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team
My mother has been in the care home since the middle of 2018. She was prior to this at home not eating, drinking or taking her medication. Within a week or two at the home, they managed to reverse this situation resulting in the improvement of her health and wellbeing. Whilst in the home, she was always looked after with dignity and respect.

Staff are always welcoming and friendly and take a genuine interest in the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel confident the staff help my friend to drink and always willing to make her another cup of tea.

Such caring people at St Mary's. Each and every one of them did their job well. The administrator was fabulous, making the process of admission for my dad as easy as possible. The manager took such good care of us and nothing was too much trouble for her. All the carers, RGN's were so approachable and caring. Activities do a great job and the tea ladies and cleaners too.

The quality of care was truly exceptional at all times and my father loved his time in the home. All the staff knew him by his name and were always attentive to his needs, as well as warm, positive and gentle with him. He found the home to be a peaceful oasis at a tough time.

St Mary's accepted dad on short notice when we realised that he needed 24/7 care with mobility and increasingly early dementia. The whole team - nurses, management, kitchen, housekeeping and caring staff were all great and were compassionate and caring. I was very happy with the care that dad received. We only moved him to be closer to family 200 miles away. Thank you so much.

Dad has been a resident at St Mary's for nearly 5 years. His care and environment are second to none. The staff, carers, admin, RGNs are very supportive of me, mum and of course my dad. I would have no hesitation in recommending St Mary's.

Having spent many weeks looking for a care home for my husband, we found St Mary's. The best thing we ever did. He has been very well looked after and happy, joins in with the activities, eating everything and has not asked when he will be coming home. All in all a great find which we would use again. He will have had a great 6 week holiday.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear your husband has had a positive experience at St Mary's and appreciate your comments of our home. Your comments will be shared with the home's manager and look forward to welcoming you back. Bupa Customer Care Team
My grandmother was staying at St Mary's in January 2018 for 2 weeks before she sadly passed away. We thought she had at least 3-4 months left but God called her home earlier. In that time, she was in the best hands at St Mary's. The staff really care about their patients, treated her with the utmost respect, made sure she was always comfortable and happy and most importantly spent time with her when we weren't able to. I am truly thankful to this care home and would recommend it to anyone. We looked at 4-5 different homes in Luton and this was the cleanest, friendly and I'm so glad my grandma was here when she passed.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and such kind words. It is the little things like a smile or just spending time with someone that makes all the difference and I'm sure that in time when you look back on the time your grandmother spent with us this will give you comfort knowing that she was well cared for.
We carefully chose St Mary's to care for my father to provide 'respite' care following an operation. The staff have been truly exceptional all round with really excellent nursing/medical staff and we cannot speak highly enough of St Mary's and their staff.
Thank you for your review and such kind words about our staff. I hope that your farther is now back in good health.
My aunt was a client at St Mary's Care Home from October 2017 until January 2018 where she passed away sadly. Although my aunt needed full nursing care she was nursed in bed, her care was excellent, she was treated with dignity and made comfortable at all times. She loved her room and surroundings. Also after my aunt passed away the help and support we received as a family was excellent.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and kind words. It is so nice to hear that your aunt loved her room and that she was well cared for.
My mother went into St Mary's Care Home Easter Monday 2017. In the six months she was in the home she received excellent nursing care, the staff were very professional and friendly. The staff were very supportive to me during my mother's last week prior to her death. I couldn't be more impressed with the care and dignity given to my mother.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and kind words about our staff. It is so nice to hear that both your mum and yourself were well cared for.
The care that she was given was exemplary. Every staff members that we encountered was considerate, caring and treated with dignity.
As a family, we were all pleased that she had her last days in such a beautiful environment.

Excellent care and consideration, all staff are first class in their care and attitude towards me. The choice of meals is very good and all served with a smile standard of room maintenance is very good. I would be very happy to recommend this care home to anybody in a similar situation to me.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that you are well cared for in our care. It is the little things like a smile that makes all the difference.
Would you be there when she called for help? Would you hold her hand when she needed company? Would you make sure she wasn't feeling pain? How could anyone else possibly do all those things the way we would want them done.
From the very first phone call, the first meeting, a great cloud was lifted from over our heads. It sounded like we had found the perfect place for mum to end her days.
Mum was so impressed with the food, which sadly was only to be enjoyed for a couple of days. You took on our mum and from the very start you cared for her, cleaned her, looked after her every need, always made us feel so welcome and we knew that mum had the best of care that we could possibly have wished for. You gave her her dignity right to the very end and you gave us solace needed to be there at her passing and the time needed until we were ready to say our goodbyes and leave her to your professionalism after her passing.
We cannot express enough in words, our deepest gratitude for your compassion, your hard work and the absolute tremendous care you hare our dear mum in life and tight to the very end.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and such kind words about our staff. It is the little things like holding a hand or just a smile that makes all the difference. I hope that in time when you look back on the short time that your mum spent...
I had a total knee replacement and I wanted to go somewhere to help me convalesce. St Mary's was wonderful and looked after me with the greatest of care. All the staff were so friendly and caring and did everything they could to help me. The food was excellent and I could ask for anything at any time. It was lovely that I could take part in activities and meet other residents. I would certainly recommend St Mary's and I would like to say a big 'thank you'.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope that you are back in good health after your knee replacement.
Very clean and very well proportioned rooms. The only thing I feel is beyond my comprehension is why the night bell or day bell is not working, but not much to add but the day room in which I visited my relative seemed very cramped. I can't really comment on the food because the resident is nil by mouth but her appearance seems quite good.

Staff were always pleasant and would give good care to my ex-husband, who sadly passed away whilst residing at St Mary's. He was treated with much dignity at all times.
