    If visiting the home to look around for the first time, an appointment is not necessary, but to avoid abstracting the nurses and carers away from the residents, it would be helpful to telephone in advance and make an appointment. My mother needs full nursing care and has advanced dementia. Sometimes lovely, at other times her behaviour is extremely challenging. A previous care home could not cope with her and confined her to bed. From the start, her experience at Austenwood was dramatically different. She was out of bed in
a chair every day, clean and well dressed, eating better and happy. The staff welcomed her warmly. Qualified nurses are always on duty. There are frequent medical checks and a comprehensive health review system. Good liaison with the local GP who visits regularly. All staff are truly caring and patient. Staffing is consistent with permanent employees. The manager, deputy manager and entertainments manager are excellent. So are all support staff. Finance and admin regularly visit residents and care for them too. I genuinely assess this to be an outstanding nursing home.

My sister-in-law has been at Austenwood for nearly two years now. It is a move she was initially apprehensive about - moving to a Nursing Home is a dramatic change of lifestyle - but it wasn't long before she came to love being here. In my regular visits, I have been able to observe the care and attention
that the staff give to all the residents. I have found the Management and Staff extremely helpful and cordial and I cannot express the relief we feel that our relative is so well looked after. It gives us all peace of mind.

I am delighted with the care that my mother is receiving at Austenwood Nursing Home. The staff, carers and nurses are very kind and have very good knowledge and understanding of each resident. The needs both mental and physical of each individual are taken into account. There is also frequent, good
entertainment. The accommodation is comfortable and warm and there is a positive, happy atmosphere within the home. The management is very good.

My grandma was here for a short while, but our family are so thankful for this time as she was comfortable, so well looked after and had a lovely room by the peaceful garden, allowing her family to visit in her last days. Great staff and facilities. We heard of all the great activities too but unfortunately,
our grandma wasn’t able to do those due to her condition, but I know she would have enjoyed it. Thank you.

I appreciate the ease with which visitors can come and go and the conditions in the day rooms are excellent (when the television isn't too loud)
I also like the dining room and the white damask table cloths.
Food is delicious!

I have visited twice and am impressed by the situation/location and the staff. I took part in a sort of yoga session which was obvious about 8 residents enjoyed and benefited from.
The actual front door is not welcoming and the doorbell works but seems a bit out of keeping with the size of the establishment.

Whenever I have visited Austenwood, the care from the staff is amazing. The other residents are treated like family and enjoy the visits organized by the care home from schools and various entertainments. The food is of a high standard and Austenwood would be my choice if the time ever arose!!

My wife was a resident at Austenwood for over two years, during which time she received outstanding care from the dedicated, compassionate and hardworking staff. Austenwood is a beautifully presented nursing home and is very well managed. The quality of the surroundings and the food are particularly

My mother has spent two days within Austenwood and she has improved 100%. She is now eating after not eating for a month, is sitting up watching TV and generally happier and more aware of her surroundings. The staff couldn't be more helpful even to the point of making her special coffee and tea. I also

Receptionist and nursing staff always friendly and welcoming. A relaxed and peaceful atmosphere pervades the home.
Room immaculately clean and tidy.
I can't comment on food and drink as it hasn't been served during my visits. However, the menu care I studied indicates an imaginative and nourishing
enterprise.
Clearly, there is a regular activities regimes but my friend has double dementia and so far, has not participated. I'm sure this home offers value for money.

From the moment you enter Austenwood you appreciate the exceptionally high standards that this company work to, from the security at the entrance, welcoming staff, quality furniture, decoration and soft furnishings.
To see my in-laws looking well and in better health than when they were trying to
manage on their own at home is evidence that they are receiving a high level of care.
As both have very different care needs these are managed appropriately for their own individual requirements, with interaction from all members of the team demonstrating that they are comfortable with the staff members providing personal care for them.
I was invited to stay for lunch and was very impressed with the meal of roast gammon, potatoes and vegetables which was well presented, hot and would not have been out of place in a restaurant.
All round a fantastic experience and one that leaves me with confidence that our family have no concerns about how they are being looked after.

Every time I visit, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The resident is clearly well looked after and on friendly terms with the staff who treat him as a person, not a number.

I started working in the health sector from 2000 till to date. I have experience in different areas in the field from maternity, neonates, young adults, adults and specialised in Mental Health.


I worked as a general nurse, service manager in specialised services, being a DBT therapist and deputy director in one of the mental hospitals.


Having explored and worked in different areas and occupying different positions in this field, I decided to settle for Elderly Care as it became my passion to contribute to the lives of people at their golden ages. I then became a CQC registered manager in one of the care homes before joining the company.


My goal is to provide compassionate, high-quality support and care to residents, many of whom may be elderly or have various health conditions and disabilities. This includes collaboration with families which is very crucial in person-centred care provided.


I am committed to make my contribution for Austenwood to continue to be a warm, safe and loving environment where residents, relatives and staff feel like family and supported emotionally and mentally.

I have worked within the care sector for over 13 years. For the past three years, I have been specialising in Dementia care.
Two of my passions are: a passion for delivering excellent care to ensure the well-being of our residents and a passion to empower residents to live their lives their way, where there is a will, there is a way.


Working alongside my team of incredible carers, we strive to deliver exceptional person-centred care to every resident every day. A busy, varied and hugely rewarding position which I feel privileged to hold.


Having an open-door policy, I am incredibly happy to be working within such a beautiful home with a friendly atmosphere and dedicated people who deliver excellent care.

With nearly two years of experience in activity coordination, Sammi leads all engagement initiatives at Austenwood Care Home. Her role includes planning and organising monthly activity calendars, booking entertainers, coordinating one-to-one sessions, and managing special events such as birthdays, parties, and outings. She also hosts resident meetings to gather feedback on preferences, ensuring the activities are personalised and meaningful. Christopher

Christopher Pigera

Job Title: Head Chef

Christopher is a professionally trained chef who studied at The Hotel School in Sri Lanka. He completed the National Diploma at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel (Five Star) over the course of three years and received comprehensive training in all sections of the kitchen.


He has worked for various companies across different countries. In 2004, he moved to London and worked at prestigious establishments including the Meridian Hotel in Piccadilly Circus, City Inn Hotel Westminster, the Bank of England Members Club, and several other fine dining restaurants throughout London.


Since 2015, Christopher has been working in care homes as a chef. He finds this role to be an incredibly rewarding experience. He takes pride in preparing well-cooked, delicious meals that residents thoroughly enjoy.

With almost 30 years of experience working in the care sector, Jackie joined the team at Austenwood in early 2022 as the Administrator. She is very proud to work in such a lovely home and to support the residents who live there. Ian Ephraim

Job Title: Maintenance Operative Joined: 2024

Ian has over 25 years of experience in maintenance roles, primarily within the care sector. He has been part of the team at Austenwood for over a year, where he is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the facility’s equipment, infrastructure, and overall environment. Ian ensures that all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and standards. He also supports external contractors who service the appliances within the home.


His role is essential in creating a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for both residents and staff, something he takes great pride in every day.

Robert has been working for Austenwood Care Home for 5 years. He began his journey as a cleaner and kitchen assistant in two other care homes before discovering this lovely place. Since then, he has continually developed himself and learned in order to offer better and better services to the residents. He currently works as the Head of Housekeeping and also helps out in all ancillary departments.

Fiona Charles

Job Title: Operations Director

Fiona has over 30 years of experience working within the healthcare sector and is a Registered Nurse, remaining active on the NMC register. Her management career started as a charge nurse and then as a ward manager within the NHS, working in wards specialising in care for older adults enduring mental health conditions and dementia.


For the last 15 years, Fiona has worked in the Care Home Sector, taking on various Management roles, including Registered Manager, Regional Support Manager, Clinical and Quality Manager, Compliance Consultant and Operations Manager.


Remaining very hands-on clinically, she is passionate about supporting our management teams to deliver exceptional person-centred care, ensuring all individuals can maintain their independence and enjoy the excellent quality of life our care homes offer.

Louise is the Operations Manager at Premium Care Group Ltd, bringing over 20 years of experience in health and social care. Her career began as a domiciliary carer while raising her young children, originally seeking flexible work, she quickly discovered a deep passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Since then, she has never looked back.


Throughout her career, Louise has held a variety of roles across the sector, each building on the last and shaping her strong understanding of what good care truly looks like. Her journey has led her to her current role, where she oversees multiple care homes, supports managers, and ensures the highest standards of quality, compliance, and person-centred care.


Louise is passionate about fostering environments where both residents and staff feel genuinely supported. She leads with integrity, remains hands-on when needed, and is deeply committed to staying connected to the people behind the work. Supporting others to succeed and feel valued is at the heart of everything she does.

Job Title: Customer Liaison Manager Joined: 2024

As Customer Liaison Manager, I support families in one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make, finding the right home for their loved ones. I guide and support each care enquiry with compassion and professionalism, ensuring every family feels heard, informed, and confident in their choices.


In addition to my work with families, I also oversee our marketing and advertising, helping to showcase the heart of our homes and the care we provide. I’m a people person at heart, and I’m proud to be part of a business that shares my core belief: life does not end with a dementia diagnosis. Our homes are places to continue living with dignity, joy, and purpose.


Dedicated and deeply passionate, I’m here to help, no question is ever too much.

Danielle Barham

Job Title: Group Lifestyle Manager

In July 2025, I was honoured to become the Group Lifestyle Manager for Premium Care Group, where I oversee and develop lifestyle programmes across all our care homes to enhance residents’ wellbeing and quality of life.


Before this, I was Care Manager at Weald Hall, having started my career there as a care assistant. I quickly built strong relationships with residents and the care team. My passion has always been to make a genuine difference, caring for every resident as if they were part of my own family.


At Premium Care Group, we are committed to providing excellent, individualised care that promotes independence and enables residents to live their lives to the fullest. I look forward to continuing to create welcoming, engaging environments where family, friends, and our residents feel at home.

Kate Wyatt

Job Title: Group Community Engagement Manager

With 28 years of experience in the care sector, Kate has held a wide range of roles, from domiciliary care to Deputy Care Manager. Most recently, she served as an Administrator, bringing extensive knowledge, dedication, and vital support to her team. Her deep-rooted passion for elderly care shines through in everything she does, and she thrives at the heart of the home, staying closely connected with both staff and residents.


Kate has a particular passion for community engagement. She loves meeting new people, building meaningful relationships, and making a genuine difference in the lives of others. She takes great pride in supporting other homes across the Premium Care Group and is always willing to contribute wherever she can.


Now serving as the Group Community Engagement Manager for Premium Care Group, a role she is immensely proud of, Kate continues to champion connection, compassion, and community across the organisation.


Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her horses and her beloved dog, Selly. A devoted family person, she cherishes quality time outdoors with her two children, Josh and Daisy, and her loved ones.
