Barchester Chalfont Care Home is on the edge of Gerrards Cross Golf Course, just minutes from the pretty villages of Chalfont St Peter, Chalfont St Giles and Denham.

It sits in magnificent grounds with marvellous views across a picturesque lake and the fine fairways of the golf course; yet close to the M25, M40/A40.

The emphasis is on outstanding care, dignity and choice and how residents live their life.

My husband is cared for by kind and thoughtful people. Staff have shown their professionalism when dealing with him by following up carefully when he needed observation and referral to other medical staff.
The activities at this home are interesting and stimulating.

My stepmother died at Chalfont Lodge on July 14, 2018, after more than 6 years there.
I was satisfied with the end of life palliative care, the coordination between the GP and Chalfont Lodge and the knowledge of the nurses on duty on the day she died.

My stepson has been at Chalfont Lodge for 6-7 years. The care home is a very friendly welcoming place where the staff, from management down are first class. My stepson, with the help of physio, music therapy and many excellent activities is now walking with a frame and can feed himself with little assistance.
As a retired architect in the public NHS sector, this is the best care home I have come across in my long career.

Husband was in respite for 2 weeks in the dementia unit, his first experience away from home. Staff were kind and patient when he was admitted and nurses very attentive when he experienced a foot infection in the heat. He was well-nourished.

I visit a friend in Chalfont Lodge every 4 - 5 weeks and have always found the staff very happy and friendly, also the residents. There seems to be a great range of activities for all to take part in should they wish.

My wife was admitted at the end of December 2017 and remained there until her death on 10th February 2018. She was totally dependent on 24-hour help as she could not use her limbs, talk or feed herself.


Throughout this time she was dealt with in a most sensitive and friendly manner. The staff were

also alert to her medical needs and responded with immediate and professional support.


Knowing she was in such a reliable Home gave me the massive support I needed during this tragic and final part of her life. The way they dealt with her death was exemplary.


Thanks to all the staff and their support during this saddest of times.

He seems to be happy and feels at home. Clothes in the wardrobe have been a problem, but this is improving. Please keep it up! We're not sure he gets enough outdoor exercise. We were promised a short daily walk. He does have suitable outdoor clothing. You seem to be looking after his general health
well.

Residents of Chalfont Lodge Care Centre are generally facing extremely difficult personal circumstances.


Despite this, the facility manages to maintain an air of "quite a nice hotel" which helps greatly with the resident's dignity.


I hope I never need this kind of support, but if I do I hope I

end up in Chalfont Lodge Care Centre.

As the family of a resident of Chalfont Lodge we booked to have Christmas dinner in the restaurant.


We were warmly welcomed with festive drinks in the lounge/conservatory which had been decorated beautifully and we were able to invite extended family in for a while to ensure we could all see each

other that day.


Six of our party had booked for dinner. The tables were set nicely and the service was excellent - friendly, attentive staff. There were a couple of good choices for each course and the meal was served promptly and came out hot. We all had a very enjoyable Christmas lunch. Without this service/facility we would not have been able to spend some of Christmas together so we are extremely grateful.


We would like to thank all the staff for their hard work - Reception staff for overseeing bookings, Activities staff for the wonderful welcome, Care/Nursing staff for looking after residents, Cleaners/Maintenance/Groundsmen for keeping the place looking good, the Chef/Kitchen staff for working so hard to feed everyone well and of course, management for pulling all this together.

I have been visiting Chalfont Lodge Care Centre since early October. From the first time, the atmosphere was of calm and warmth. The staff are unobtrusive quick to respond with concern and care if needed.
This was shown especially shown last weekend to my friend. Today a special buffet lunch was enjoyed
to celebrate a very special birthday. It really made a memorable day for us. Then the care shown to all the residents coming to hear a group of children sing just exceptional. So thank you for the wonderful care knowing she is so well there and happy.

My wife who has dementia was formerly in a highly rated care home that really couldn't cope when my wife showed signs of aggression due to the care homes GP withdrawing an important medication which the care home didn't inform me of. Now she is in Chalfont Lodge Care Centre and in addition to being
able to care they are also very able to cope.

My good friend has been in the home for 6 months now.
She is 100% happy with everything concerning the care home.
(She had a poor experience in another local care home).
The staff are brilliant. The rooms are very nice.
The home is set in a most beautiful, quiet countryside area.
The food is excellent
and plentiful.
Activities are arranged, twice a day, most days.
I highly recommend Chalfont Lodge for anyone considering caring accommodation for family or friends.

I provide evidence-based rehabilitation and physiotherapy treatment to orthopaedic conditions together with multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease, and post-operative care.


I also support other healthcare professionals for Botox administration, wheelchair assessments and orthotics.


I work closely with my clients and their families, as well as other healthcare professionals to provide holistic treatment in order to achieve the maximum functional results and help clients to achieve their goals.

Hi, my name is Isabel but go by Izzy. I qualified as a Music Therapist in 2015 from Anglia Ruskin University and lived and worked for some years in Cambridge. I completed my second master's in Mental Health Science in 2020 whilst living in France before moving to Bucks to work across three NHS hospitals specialising in dementia and rehabilitation. I am passionate about the power of music and music therapy for older people and those living with dementia, and about strengthening connections between research and practice. As well as working for Barchester I run community choirs and teach the piano locally and in my spare time, I enjoy yoga and spending time outdoors.
