The staff are vey approachable, helpful and friendly and treat dad and us with dignity and respect. The building is in need of some updating which is currently in progress- ideally it would be good to have a second living room, without a telly if residents want some quiet time as the conservatory can get very warm. The bedrooms are tired and in need of redecoration - more neutral colours and could be configured better to make best use of space.
Compared to another local home visited recently, Hulcott was head and shoulders above them with the welcome they give to residents and visitors. They work hard engaging clients with a raft of activities.

Thank you for making dad feel so safe, and cared for that he refused to come home after a respite break.

My mum, Maggs, has advanced dementia, and knowing she is cared for with such kindness, dignity and compassion means a lot to us. There is always a warm welcome from the staff when we visit. And they are always happy to help Mum with her needs. She is consistently clean, comfortable and beautifully looked after which is so important for us her family. When I mentioned that Mum wasn't overly comfortable in the chair with her back, they listened and by the next morning had a more comfortable recliner for her. It was such a thoughtful gesture and showed how much they care about each individual resident. They have great activities, entertainment and special events that often include family members. All the extra little touches make such a difference and we see them and notice them. We couldn't be happier knowing mum is valued and cared for in such a great way. This is not just the carers but the nurses, management, admin, cleaners, chefs the whole crew! All care & brighten mum's day

My mother has been cared for at Hulcott since October 2024 and I am very happy with the care and attention that she has been shown by all the staff. The home is well run and in the main the staff are attentive and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending Hulcott to anyone requiring residential and nursing care.

From our first viewing with nan at Hulcott in April, we just knew we'd found somewhere incredibly special. It's so hard to put into words the relief you feel when you're facing one of the hardest decisions as a family, especially when dementia brings so many challenges, but Hulcott instantly felt different. The kindness, understanding and genuine care shown to my Nan every single day is something I never take for granted. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and the team are always so responsive to her changing needs. They keep us informed, involve us in decisions about her care, and I always leave feeling listened to and reassured. Krasi and the whole team have created such a warm, welcoming environment that truly feels like a home from home. Every single member of staff we've met has treated Nan with so much patience, dignity and compassion. They don't just care for their residents, they really care about them as people. A real hidden gem x

I moved my mother to Hulcott care home in November 2025 .She was previously in another care home but I felt it didn't suit her needs & I also wanted to move her nearer to where I live.
I will say the first time I walked into Hulcott to see if it was what I was looking for in my mothers best interest I instantly felt at home, the staff were all so welcoming & friendly especially the receptionists ,I could sense how happy they all were like one big family.
I could also see there was huge respect for the manager Krasi.
I wish I had found this gem of a Carehome sooner.
The entertainment lady is absolutely amazing & very passionate about her role.
Very heartwarming to see she encourages my mother to get involved in activities, even gets her giggling at times.
All the carers & nurses make sure my mums needs are met & always with a smile on their faces, she also always looks clean & respectable.

If you are looking for a smaller, friendly & caring care home Hulcott is the one.

I have been visiting my neighbour and friend Olga for the last year. Krasi and Hulcott came to Olga's rescue after she was no longer managing at home. Olga knew all the staff as they had looked after her late husband David so well the previous year so was happy to go and knew she was in safe and caring hands. She was looked after wonderfully with staff who cared for her as if she was one of their own family. She loved it there and sadly I am speaking in past tense as she has just passed away but with care and dignity and respect shown to her all times. I will miss Olga and her smile so much and her smile never faded as she was so happy there. They loved her there and Julie in particular. Im so sad that I won't see her anymore and sad that I can't visit her there anymore as it's so welcoming. I may still go back in and befriend others. Don't hesitate in sending a loved one here it will be like home from home for them but with care and friendliness and company. A true gem.

My old friend has been at Hulcott for 5 months. She has blossomed with having all the lovely staff around. The activities she had been encouraged to get involved in have been brilliant for her mental health.

She looks healthy as now she gets good food and plenty of it. She now says Hulcott is home now which is lovely to hear.

Our first visit to our friend who is here.
We were greeted by wonderful, helpful staff and we met the chef, who was very sociable.

Our friend was warm and comfortable and it was evident that he was well cared for and the staff were very kind and attentive.

Overall Experience
My aunt has been a resident for some months now and is physically so frail she cannot move from the bed. The staff have been very friendly and patient, coping with varying moods and managing her failing physical health and memory, and working to meet her rather limited food preferences. The activities organiser has done her best to make her feel included, visiting her room and organising birthday celebrations, which my aunt really appreciated.
The manager and the weekly GP are very approachable and the receptionists easily available and helpful. Optician, dentist and audiologist visits have also been arranged.

Having a second relative now also end of life but still at home, it is a relief to know that my aunt is safe and well cared for in a homely environment, day and night, with nurses on hand when required. I feel happy that my aunt will end her life here, and not in hospital.

My sons and I are very pleased with the care and attention given to my wife during the 14 months that she has been at Hulcott. She arrived for assessment after being in hospital suffering from delirium in addition to dementia, and now her general health, apart from dementia, is very good thanks to the excellent care given at Hulcott.
The nurses always respond quickly to any medical matters that we raise and the care assistants treat her with respect.
A GP visits weekly and sees every resident monthly and in between when required, as assessed by the nurses.
The daily activities are varied and brilliantly run by the wellbeing coordinator.

We are very impressed with the hand-held recorders, used by the care assistants and nurses, where all aspects of care, and food and drink intake are recorded electronically, far superior to a paper-based or centrally-based system.
