My mum went into Oak House for a 3 week period after hospital. She was confused and suffering with delirium after the 3-week stay she was very much improved and able to go home all of the staff were caring and friendly.

My husband has been at Oak House for two weeks respite while I underwent a hip replacement operation and couldn't look after him myself.
At every stage I found the staff at Oak House to be friendly, professional and very helpful indeed.
They kept in touch with me every day to let me know how he was or put him on the phone - this gave me peace of mind.
He said the food was very good indeed - all his favourites appeared during his stay.
When it was time to come home staff were helpful in finding a way to get him home as I wasn't allowed to drive.
Although he'd arrived at 10am for his stay, the day he was returning home they said if it helped me, he could stay for lunch and be picked up in the afternoon. I was so grateful for their consideration of my circumstances.
One medicinal item had been overlooked in the packing as it was in the fridge (fair enough), but a member of staff brought it personally to our house so as not to cause me any problems.

Will use Oak House again, Thank You.

Having to decide where your loved one is going to reside in the middle of a pandemic was extremely difficult, but we were extremely fortunate to be able to have Oak House available. The whole team of staff are attentive and caring and have a complete understanding of Dads needs. With very high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, I cannot fault it in any way. Dementia care is wonderful, and to know that Dad is cared for to the highest quality is very comforting.

My family and I are so impressed with Oak House care home. The care my father and all the residents receive is amazing. To see my father so happy, makes me happy, following a very heart-wrenching decision one has to make when their loved one cannot look after themselves, and with all the will in the world has to resort to a care home. I would highly recommend Oak House for your loved one, the staff become their extended family. They always keep me updated with his health and always want feedback from me regarding his care. They have also been on top of the COVID situation following their personal guidelines in order to keep the residents and staff safe. Above all, they care.

The staff at Oak House are extremely professional in their care of my wife. They are very aware of her needs and I can see from my visits that she is comfortable and in as good health as could be expected. I also noted that she is relaxed in the company of the staff and I have not seen any distress. They are very prompt in calling me when they need to report any change of circumstances. This is a well managed care home and they have done exceptional work in keeping their residents safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. They have regular (fortnightly) zoom calls with management which allows relatives to ask questions and get full disclosure information. Recently with the new Covid-19 rules relaxation, I have been allowed to enter the home and be with my wife. It is well done with strict Covid-19 checks and all the appropriate PPE in place. These 'inside' visits have been great, and to be able to hold my wife's hand for the first time in over a year has been wonderful. Well done Oak House.

The resident was cared for during the last four and a half years of her life. She had no relatives in this country and I acted for them. I was always kept up to date with her situation, especially during the Covid pandemic and consulted about any problems as she became frail. The staff facilitated visits during her last days and I know she would not have lived so long without the love and care she received. Her family and I were very happy with all aspects of her care.

Wonderful experience on seeing my mum in person for the first time in over 1 year. We both shed a few tears but more with happiness than sadness, and being able to hold her hand was fabulous. The staff were wonderful, as usual, it was great being in the home once more. Long may it continue.

Mum has been at this home for a couple of years now and both she and we have witnessed its performance through better times and the difficulties created by the pandemic. I cannot thank the home and all of its staff for their responsiveness to change, and of late, very difficult circumstances.

Their strategies and protocols have been aligned always to the need to keep everyone safe whilst maintaining the maximum sense of well-being in a loving environment. The inventive strategies for maintenance of family contact have been excellent and my brothers and I have been able to meet with her via Zoom which has been excellent. Thank you Oak House and everyone who contributed in any way to Mum's welfare and for the peace of mind it gives us all.

I feel like it's my home to a certain extent. The staff give me all the care I need and I get whatever I need. Due to lockdown I really miss the outside entertainment as in watching dance performances, but I still enjoy the activities that have been provided, my nails getting done, films with ice cream and treats and more social time with the people who live in my unit.

My mother has been in Oak House for 6 yrs. I can't fault her care in that time, if there was a problem, it was sorted straight away. My mother passed away 7th Jan 20. I cannot praise the staff enough for everything they did. They gave me all the help I needed and looked after my mum fantastically. Staff stood outside and paid respect to my mum the day of the funeral and a large number came to her funeral. Thank you to all staff.

Having been at Oak House since July 2019, on the basis that following a series of falls, social services indicated that there was little alternative, I agreed with some trepidation. However my initial concerns were nullified by the general contribution of friendliness by staff and management in making my conversion to a guided routine from a completely free existence and despite my continued inability to walk, I am managing to pursue a reasonable lifestyle.

On arrival at Oak House, I was made to feel very welcome. All the staff that looked after me were very polite and understanding of any concerns that I had. When first meeting the staff, any questions I asked were answered in precise detail which was reassuring as I had never stayed in a care home before. On the last day of my stay at Oak House, the staff came to say goodbye to me and I told them I would see them soon when my husband has his other operation.

Oak House is like a gift to the community of Slough. We are fortunate and privileged. You feel at home here by the friendly and caring service of the staff. Even I noticed by talking to the nurse, I was surprised she remembers all the medicines to be given to my mum. Even the lady who works in the kitchen as a chef asked my mum what would you like to eat. She said she is going to make warm food and chapatis now.

Special thanks to the lady who made my mother happy, her supervision is excellent and she works in harmony with staff and she does involve in working herself with carers.

Since my husband has been in Oak House in November 2015, he has been treated very well and with dignity. If I think there is something wrong with my husband they arrange for a doctors visit. The carers are very hard working. I have only questioned once about an injury on my husband and they got to the bottom of it and the carer was more than caring for him.
