The staff at this care home have been excellent, from the receptionist to the manager. My aunt is very happy here and enjoys the activities best of all. The home is very clean and tidy. My aunt always looks well kept every time I visit. The care is exceptional, leaving my aunt in a care home was the
hardest thing I have done but she is very happy and it's nice to hear her call Castlemead Court Care Home her home.

My great-grandma lives at Castlemead Court Care Home, she loves living there and I love my FaceTime calls with her as I love hearing all about the fantastic activities she has been doing. Sometimes the staff join the FaceTime call and we all have a sing-song - it’s fantastic and really shows how wonderful
everyone at the home is.

I have been treated with kindness and consideration. Also by cheerfulness. This I appreciate. I also like a little joke and have had many which also makes a difference. The staff work hard and have much to do. All this takes a lot of tolerance which they have. My room faces the garden which is a solace.
I walk the perimeter of the building daily. My dog was allowed to meet me. Lots of visitors.

From what I have observed, the home is fresh and well maintained. I was recommended this home by a friend, it has lived up to my expectations. The management took the time to settle myself and my sister into the routines and for that I thank them. The staff are very approachable and feel like friends
already. My sister is extremely happy and feels like she is at home, that suits me.

Mum is recovering from a very short illness and I can not thank the staff enough. They have communicated daily with me her progress and ensured Mum is comfortable. I am unable to see Mum daily and so it is heart-warming when they send little pictures or cards from Mum. I have said thank you a thousand
times but this will never be enough for giving me peace of mind.

My mother-in-law, 96, is a very independent lady. She is very hard to accept any assistance from anyone.
Carers in Castlemead Court Care Home are awesome! They found a way to communicate and help my mother-in-law. She is enjoying life in Castlemead, she's loved by staff and we are very happy with all
care in Castelmead.

I have been coming to the home now for seven months. It has been so very difficult for everybody, yet when I arrive, I am always greeted by a warm, friendly face. The staff cannot do enough for me or my relative. The management team are approachable and have listened and acted upon any concerns I may
have had. Covid has a lot to answer for! But, here at the home, they go above and beyond.

My husband was only at Castlemead Court for a few months before he passed away, and as a family, we can’t thank the staff enough for the care he received.
He was always spotless and smelt nice with his aftershave. It was obvious how much he liked the staff. Although he had difficulty with his speech,
we could see how happy he was.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff; they work very hard but always had the time to answer any questions.

I was so exhausted and could on just cope.
The manageress is very competent, always smiling and helpful.
Four months on and still trying to improve my own health. As we all know Covid has proved very difficult for visiting loved ones but hopefully, this will change shortly.
I am eternally grateful

I was only able to visit my wife in the few days before lockdown in March 2020. She seemed very happy after being transferred. My assessment, therefore, is based on minimal information and experience about the home. Generally, she is well cared for and seems happy. I would like more communication by
phone or text messages on a regular basis.
Reply from Tracy Shepherd, Home Manager at Castlemead Court Care HomeMany thanks for taking the time to review our service, Whilst we do strive to communicate on a frequent basis with all families we understand that this could be improved on. We will certainly look at how we currently do this to try to achieve a better service for all.

My mother came to live at Castlemead Court during the first lockdown. It was very hard to accept as I have cared for her for so many years but I know that this what she needed. She won't admit it but she loves it here and I know she is very grateful for the care she receives and so am I. Obviously,
it would be lovely to see her all the time and it all to go back to normal but this is how it is right now and I can not thank the staff enough for all they do for my mum. I am utterly grateful. Thank you.

Castlemead Court appears to be well-run and staff seem interested in and engaged with residents. In my experience as a visitor, the centre is well-run, is well presented and kept clean and tidy. Most importantly, the residents appear to be very well looked after, they are safe and well-fed and as far
as it is possible to tell from visits, it seems like a happy place.

My aunt has been a resident for 2.5 years. The home is friendly and welcoming and up to March 2020 I was able to visit her as many times as I wished. I could take her for a walk or stay in one the the lounges. During this awful pandemic the home have tried their utmost to ensure visits continue, providing
a safe meeting pod, constructed at short notice. Staff always contact me with any updates in regards to her wellbeing and permissions needed for Covid testing etc. They send pictures regularly and you are able to FaceTime.
My aunt always looks well dressed and I feel confident she is in a safe, caring environment.
The staff have worked hard to keep her happy and healthy in these difficult and challenging times. They are always open and approachable for any concerns or questions I have. I would recommend Castlemead Court Care Home.

Castlemead Court staff are exceptional. My dad was in the Holly nursing unit from 2018 and had disabilities following a stroke and was cared for by a wonderful team of carers and nurses. The Castlemead team are like a family working together and you become part of that family. Before Castlemead, my
dad had experienced two other nursing homes one in London and another big named one in Milton Keynes and none compare with Castlemead. I visited my dad daily and we have never had any issues or complaints. The management team are just as caring and approachable and they are all a wonderful hardworking team.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.784)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.784) out of 10 for Castlemead Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.784 for Castlemead Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (261 Excellents x 5) + (63 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 328 Ratings = 4.784
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Castlemead Court Care Home is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 79 registered maximum number of service users is 15.8, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
