My husband was only at Castlemead Court for a few months before he passed away, and as a family, we can’t thank the staff enough for the care he received.
He was always spotless and smelt nice with his aftershave. It was obvious how much he liked the staff. Although he had difficulty with his speech, we could see how happy he was.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff; they work very hard but always had the time to answer any questions.

I would like to thank everyone dearly at the home that was there for my mum. I will never forget the people that were there for me at the end. I had so much support, just can't thank you all enough. Love you all. My mum would have loved you all too.

I was so exhausted and could on just cope.
The manageress is very competent, always smiling and helpful.
Four months on and still trying to improve my own health. As we all know Covid has proved very difficult for visiting loved ones but hopefully, this will change shortly.

I am eternally grateful for all the help afforded me.

My husband has been in Castlemead Court for 6 months, the support we have received as a family from the manager to all care staff has been outstanding. The manager and team leader have gone above and beyond. The care my husband receives is exceptional, the staff ensure as a family we are always updated in relation to any health issues or any concerns regarding my husband. Excellent care home.

I was only able to visit my wife in the few days before lockdown in March 2020. She seemed very happy after being transferred. My assessment, therefore, is based on minimal information and experience about the home. Generally, she is well cared for and seems happy. I would like more communication by phone or text messages on a regular basis.

Reply from Tracy Shepherd, Home Manager at Excelcare Castlemead Court Care Home

Many thanks for taking the time to review our service, Whilst we do strive to communicate on a frequent basis with all families we understand that this could be improved on. We will certainly look at how we currently do this to try to achieve a better service for all.

My mother came to live at Castlemead Court during the first lockdown. It was very hard to accept as I have cared for her for so many years but I know that this what she needed. She won't admit it but she loves it here and I know she is very grateful for the care she receives and so am I. Obviously, it would be lovely to see her all the time and it all to go back to normal but this is how it is right now and I can not thank the staff enough for all they do for my mum. I am utterly grateful. Thank you.

Castlemead Court appears to be well-run and staff seem interested in and engaged with residents. In my experience as a visitor, the centre is well-run, is well presented and kept clean and tidy. Most importantly, the residents appear to be very well looked after, they are safe and well-fed and as far as it is possible to tell from visits, it seems like a happy place.

My aunt has been a resident for 2.5 years. The home is friendly and welcoming and up to March 2020 I was able to visit her as many times as I wished. I could take her for a walk or stay in one the the lounges. During this awful pandemic the home have tried their utmost to ensure visits continue, providing a safe meeting pod, constructed at short notice. Staff always contact me with any updates in regards to her wellbeing and permissions needed for Covid testing etc. They send pictures regularly and you are able to FaceTime.
My aunt always looks well dressed and I feel confident she is in a safe, caring environment.

The staff have worked hard to keep her happy and healthy in these difficult and challenging times. They are always open and approachable for any concerns or questions I have. I would recommend Castlemead Court Care Home.

My mum wasn’t in Castlemead Court Daisy unit long but they looked after her so well and kept me updated by email and I rang often. Even being in Australia, all the staff I spoke to were brilliant and very catering. My mum passed away recently and they were kind and the staff were very thoughtful of how I was feeling. Thank you Castlemead Court and staff.

Castlemead Court staff are exceptional. My dad was in the Holly nursing unit from 2018 and had disabilities following a stroke and was cared for by a wonderful team of carers and nurses. The Castlemead team are like a family working together and you become part of that family. Before Castlemead, my dad had experienced two other nursing homes one in London and another big named one in Milton Keynes and none compare with Castlemead. I visited my dad daily and we have never had any issues or complaints. The management team are just as caring and approachable and they are all a wonderful hardworking team.

My dad is in palliative care with brain and lung/colon cancer.
He has been admitted here for his last days and has a one to one carer, who has been incredibly kind and caring.

We are very grateful to the wonderful staff who are taking care of him.

There is not enough permanent staff as many of the residents need one to one. Sometimes on reception area, there are only visitors. It took three days for me to get someone to get a doctor to my husband who spent a week in hospital with a chest infection. The nurse on duty those days, he was not her patient. It took the next change of staff for a doctor to be called. There are a lot of dedicated staff on the floor but could do with more. I take my hat off to the staff.

My sister and I visit my Mum 4 days a week so my experiences are based on these snapshot visits. We are not around at mealtimes so my marks for food and drink is based on comments from the residents (cold, rough and repetitive) so it is only hearsay. We feel that your strength is in the staff you employ. Most of them are very kind, caring and cheerful. I hope you find these comments useful.

All staff showed care, compassion, dignity and kindness towards my mum in the years that mum spent at Castlemead Court. Her final days were spent surrounded by staff who showed love and kindness not only towards Mum but towards us all as a family. I will always be grateful. Thank you.

Castlemead is a welcoming, friendly home. It also has a high level of care. My mum had a hard time coming to terms with her situation, but the staff and medical staff have helped her enormously. As a bonus, it is always easy to park when I visit, in fact, the whole outside of the grounds is very good.

The majority of carers are kind, hardworking individuals. There are two who leave something to be desired, as is the case in most organisations. Any worries I have had have been dealt with promptly by management I feel my husband is well cared for at Castlemead.
