My husband was in Castlemead for 7.5 years and I was overwhelmed with absolutely everything. Since he passed away 2.5 years ago I have been very lucky to be a volunteer at Castlemead and I am so very sure that there cannot be a care home anywhere that can top Castlemead. Everyone is so kind and caring and the residents are all so very lucky. A big thank you to Castlemead and lucky Excelcare.

Home is clean, tidy and attractive, staff are friendly, approachable and helpful. Care standard is good. There are lots of different activities which are publicised via a printed calendar.

My mother suffers from dementia and became a resident at the home at the end of October 2019. It is such a happy environment and Mum has thrived - her confidence, her mobility and her speech have all improved and she loves it there. She settled in far quicker than we anticipated and I have no doubt that all of this is the direct result of the care and attention she receives. She also loves the food and thoroughly enjoys the entertainment programme. The staff have welcomed my husband and me too and we feel included in Mum’s care, something which is very important to us. They immediately address any little queries or concerns we may have whatever they might be - nothing is too much trouble. Mum’s laundry is done immediately and her room is kept very clean as is the rest of the home. Everyone, without exception, plays a major role in the home’s caring environment from the moment you enter the building.

My mother-in-law was admitted 24th June in a very poorly condition and I was not expecting her to improve.

All your staff at the care home were very caring, helpful and attended to mum's and our every need.

A very welcoming lady welcomed us and mum in a very helpful, friendly way. We spoke to either of two members of staff each time we arrived and they advised us on what had been done, what she was like and advised us on how to deal with things. Extremely helpful.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and showed us around.

The manager met with us when we cleared mum's room out yesterday and offered us her condolences. I hope that if ever I need to go into care in the future, I will be able to use one as nice and caring as this one.

This care home has very efficient and friendly staff who really care for the residents. I am glad my relative was admitted here and only wish she could have lasted a bit longer. The activities and meals are very good and residents are looked after really well. I would recommend this care home to anyone who was looking for a good care home. The rooms and general appearance of the care home are very nice, everyone is friendly and cannot do enough to make residents and family welcome, my relative really enjoyed the short time she had here and felt it was her home and family.

My mum has lived at Castle Mead for nearly two years with late stages of Alzheimer’s in which time she has received the most wonderful care. She is looked after very well and wants for nothing, all of the staff treat her with dignity and respect making her comfortable any way they can. Food is always fresh and looks to be very good quality and varies on a daily basis.

My daughter's father-in-law has recently moved into Castlemead Court, I saw him today and loved the interaction between the staff and him. It felt like they were friends who had known him for years. Sadly, his wife died quite suddenly a couple of weeks before he moved so he is dealing with a number of losses. During my visit, he spent time with the manager and again, every opportunity was given to discuss a recent health intervention and its outcome.

I felt reassured at the support given by everyone I was in contact with this afternoon and good to see him settling already.

My sister has been a resident at Castlemead for nearly three tears during which time, she has become considerably calmer and happier. I cannot praise the staff enough for the care, compassion and kindness they have shown her, particularly the first rate, highly skilled nursing care she has received. My sister is treated with respect and warmth and is happy and safe in her environment. She always enjoys visits from entertainers and musicians and has benefitted from having well prepared good food. The management team and staff generally are always approachable and ready to listen and act on any concerns I may have. My sister is always smiling and knows she is loved and cared for at Castelmead.

All staff are friendly, helpful, caring and have experience in the care they give. My mother has now been in Castlemead for three months and loves the staff, facilities and food provided which is also excellent. It is a cheerful, easy going atmosphere. My mother can be awkward but has settled in very well.

I would not hesitate to recommend Castlemead to anyone.

Myself and my Wife have been treated with dignity and respect. I have the utmost confidence in the home and staff for the care of my Wife. They treat myself as part of the family and care for my wellbeing through these tough times with my Wife's illness. Nothing is too much trouble for all the carers. 100% happy with everything to do with the home.

I am very pleased with the service Mum receives from Castlemead, however, I do not see how they justify the price rise of nearly £4000 in less than 2 years.

Castlemead is a comfortable, warm, friendly and secure environment with good facilities and in a good location.

There is a varied menu provided, which is of good quality and is always hot!

The laundry service is excellent with my mother always having a variety of clean clothes.

The individual room she is in is always clean and tidy with a nice size en-suite.

She is always clean and dressed nicely and when we visit she always looks well cared for. I couldn't ask for anything more.
