Nestled within the quiet surroundings of Chelmsford, Admirals Reach care home offers personalised residential, nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

The professional care team is on hand to help you or your loved one settle into life at the home. Inside, Admirals Reach's modern yet homely interior includes well-furnished lounges and spacious rooms as well as a conservatory. Arranged in five separate houses, four of these provide dementia care and one provides residential care.

The home also offers a range of lovely dining areas where residents can relax and enjoy an intimate dining experience with family and friends, and in addition to the dining rooms, residents can also enjoy mealtimes in the peaceful courtyard garden on sunny days.

I would like to leave a review on behalf of my father-in-law who was a resident in Admirals Reach Care Home, Chelmsford until recently when he sadly passed away.
He was in Mountbatten Community where he absolutely loved being during his short stay. He was constantly telling everyone how much he liked
it there, how kind all the staff were to him. In this respect he meant this compliment to be for everyone involved in his care, from, kitchen staff, wellbeing staff, housekeeping staff, carers and nurses as well as the management team who had made it possible for him to come to live there.
Prior to being in the Mountbatten Community he was living on his own and had been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's and was struggling to manage his basic needs even though the family he had in Chelmsford tried their best to help in whatever way they could. The COVID lockdown made it very difficult and it certainly had a profound effect on him.

My mum came to Admirals Reach in June from hospital, she lives in Benbow House, so far I have been impressed with the care my mum receives, we are kept informed of any changes in Mum's health and wellbeing at all times. Mum seems relaxed, the hardest thing has been not being able to visit and help with
Mum's care cos of lockdown, but the staff do their best. We are very happy with the service so far and would recommend Benbow House at Admirals Reach Care Home and the friendly staff.

During our mothers stay at Admirals Reach. Jericho House for the last five months on end of life care was excellent. The staff were so kind and treated our Mother as part of their family with care, compassion, dignity and respect for all her needs. She enjoyed the activities and her lovely room looking
out to the garden, she even named a squirrel that visited her daily outside her room window. Under the present circumstances, we were not allowed to visit the home to keep it virus free. The nurses reported to us when there was a change and were there for our Mum till the end. Which we are indebted to them and can't thank them enough for making her passing as peaceful as possible making sure she did not die alone and with dignity, they are absolutely brilliant.
We would highly recommend Admirals Reach to everyone.

My lovely mum spent the last 7 months of her life here and was treated wonderfully by the lovely staff in Nelson House. We were welcomed every day and allowed to assist in her care and well being. The staff were caring and compassionate and assisted our family with supporting my darling mum to the end.

We have been very happy in the 3 years Mum was at Admirals Reach. It has been sad to watch her decline and then her inevitable death, but the staff have all been wonderful, understanding and attentive to her needs.

Since my husband came into the nursing home which is almost six weeks ago I have found the nursing staff and most carers are kind and helpful, also the cleaners and domestic staff who do the washing and ironing are extremely good, as are the staff who do the recreational jobs who are excellent. All
in all, I am happy that my husband is well looked after.

My aunt is extremely happy in her new home. I find the staff caring and friendly. If we have any problems it is always dealt with promptly.
My only critic is access to the building. Due to my work commitments, I often have to visit in my lunch break, I do appreciate this very inconvenient and staff
are busy. I often wait for over five minutes before a member of staff is available to let me in. Sadly this time eats into my visiting time. Then I have to search for staff to let me out.

I have been impressed generally with the friendliness and caring of the staff at Admirals Reach. The staffing levels are higher than the only other care home that I have experience of. My wife has been in residence for about 7 weeks so early days for an in-depth assessment. The food is plentiful with
a good selection. The decor and furnishings are rather tired. Most blinds are broken in the conservatory. There were not sufficient portable tables but I understand this will be addressed in the next week.

Lal is a Registered Nurse with over twenty years’ experience. He is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life to older people, to enrich their lives. Lal is dedicated to providing quality care and support for elderly people, to enrich their lives.


Lal closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. He uses his experience to motivate his team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home. Lal is committed to promoting individual choice for Residents, allowing them to feel empowered.


He also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Admirals Reach.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Lal remarked:


“Seeing Residents smiling and knowing that as a team we are making a difference to their lives.”


In his spare time, Lal enjoys playing badminton, travelling to exciting destinations and spending quality time with his family.
