The staff at Manor Lodge are fantastic. They genuinely care for their residents and treat them like family. This is all staff, nurses, carers, catering, cleaners and admin. They were all wonderful to my mum. My mum lived six months longer than was expected and I know this was due to the dedication of the whole team at Manor Lodge. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness to my mum and to us.

My experience of the staff members cannot be faulted.

They are firm but so patient, the cleanliness and organisation of the premises is excellent and I would certainly recommend anyone to this care home should the need arise.

My husband entered Manor Lodge Care Home with dementia. His treatment there has been first class. He has recently died at the care home in the nursing section and they were very dignified at all times.

My mum was unable to take care of herself and has been in Manor Lodge since July 2018. I can't praise the care home enough, from the management to all the staff their care and kindness I couldn't ask for more for my mum and I know when I walk away she is so well looked after and very safe. No matter what time or what day I go her care remains the same I'm 100% rested knowing my mum is in the best care home.

Manor Lodge. What can I say? Superlatives are not nearly enough. My experience, having visited many other 'establishments', was jaundiced. From the moment I was greeted, on entering Manor Lodge, the care taken to answer all my concerns, to the welcome my mother as the resident received, was excellent. I wondered if it could be maintained. I need not have worried. Manor Lodge exceeded my and my mother's expectations. The staff, without exception, to both of us, were superb, caring and resident focused. My mother's room was all that she needed, that she could, and did, individualise to her wishes. Hygiene was and is a priority, and food and fluids monitored to promote well-being - both varied and a good flavourful selection - with cakes and pastries to tempt the pallet. Likened to a hotel stay, I have and do unreservedly recommend to all. There will be those who expect the earth, or perfection, both are unrealistic. For the most precious life, my mother's, I had trusted her care to Manor Lodge. Not a day passed when I or she felt that trust was misplaced.

It is an honour and a privilege to be able to enter a review on Manor Lodge Chelmsford. I can honestly rate Manor Lodge as an outstanding aged care facility and question whether there is another home that’s equal in their delivery of care and attention. My mother lived here for 7 months prior to her passing and l can say without a shadow of a doubt, her happiness shone like a shining star. Everywhere l go, I give a glowing recommendation and my rating 100%.
Manor Lodge is led from the top and it’s evident in every level of service.
Thank you, Manor Lodge, from the bottom of my heart and you will forever be in my thoughts.

You are a credit to the caring profession.

I cannot thank you enough for the care and kindness shown to my daughter during her three months in your home. Due to her complicated illness, it was her wish to be cared for in a nursing home even though she knew that many residents were much older than her. Whatever time of day we visited her care was exemplary, the staff friendly and sympathetic.

Thank you once again we could not have found a better place for her.

I have been to see several care homes in Essex. I came to Manor Lodge without an appointment and given a complete tour of the home. Activities were happening all around the home, also cleaning.

My wife has become a resident, I feel she is safe cared for, entertained and treated with respect, as is all of our family.

When you go to sleep at night and don't worry, you know you have picked the right care home. The staff all know my dad by his name and I know that pleases him very much, even the reception and maintenance team go out of their way to get to know the residents and are so friendly.

Manor Lodge is a very special care home, somewhere you quickly feel is home to your loved and it is a pleasure to visit. The excellent staff are always friendly, helpful and very professional. nothing is too much trouble. It's always very clean in the general areas as well as the residents own room. the management style is key, hands-on which I am sure makes for the high standard throughout the home.

Taking a typical visit step by step - parking sometimes very limited. Welcome is always friendly - security good - care home always has a clean and light appearance - Pleshey Lounge is comfortable although TV is too small. Rooms are pleasant and clean although only one visitor chair. Staff are always friendly. Facilities - 'conservatory' with small kitchen feels like we've gone out (very pleasant). Highlight of August must be the fete despite working hard (and doing very well) on entertainment all year round the staff pull out all the stops for what is a very enjoyable day - lovely to see them all join in.

My dad lived at Manor Lodge for over 2 years. From the difficult transition of putting him into care to his final months, the management and staff were exemplary.
Living overseas, I was so grateful to know he was safe, secure and well cared for. In the early days, there were plenty of activities for him to join in and later as he needed higher care, the staff treated him with dignity an respect.

I would highly recommend Manor Lodge to anyone.

Having been sent to hospital form a previous care home my father's general health was in an extremely poor condition, with grade 4 pressure sores. He was discharged from hospital to this care home to be treated for end of life. I am so pleased that, 9 weeks later, he is still with us, due to the care, commitment nursing needs and devotion of all members of staff and he does no longer complain of being in pain and now and again we receive a smile.

Meet the Team (1)

Natasha Webster
Natasha WebsterJob Title:Home Manager

Hi, I'm Natasha Webster, the Home Manager at Manor Lodge.

I am a qualified Registered Nurse and have completed the Future Home Manager training with Care UK. I previously worked as Deputy Manager at Manor Lodge and, before joining Care UK six years ago, I was a Clinical Nurse Specialist at a local hospice in Surrey. After supporting a Care UK home as a CNS, I was inspired by the happy atmosphere and compassionate team, which led me to apply for a Clinical Nurse Manager role.

A care home manager should be compassionate and values-driven, promoting dignity, safety and person-centred care. Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and sound clinical and governance knowledge are essential to ensure high standards and support both residents and staff.

My favourite part of the day is walking around the home, seeing residents and staff happy, and watching meaningful moments and achievements unfold.

Outside of work, my family and I enjoy WWII re-enactment weekends, 1940s swing jive dancing with my daughter, and I also enjoy crochet and knitting.

My biggest career highlight has been becoming a Home Manager. I’m proud of the difference we make in residents’ lives each day and supporting staff to grow. The most important part of my role is ensuring residents are happy and safe, and that staff feel supported to develop and progress.
