My mother has been at Manor Lodge (Chelmsford) for a few months now, initially in the care section and recently in the nursing care section. The staff are very attentive, friendly, informative and always looking out for the residents in a genuinely kind and caring manner. Our family's frequent visits are always welcomed and we always have immediate access to my Mother. The staff are very proactive in encouraging social interaction with other residents. The nursing care which we recently experienced has been exceptionally professional. All staff were very helpful in my Mother's transition from care to nursed sections and proactively kept us informed of all steps and our many concerns. Staff in both sections are very regular in checking in on my Mother to make sure all is well and all her needs are being met. The building is pleasant and functional. I would thoroughly recommend this care home and its wonderful staff. I sleep much easier knowing that she is being so well cared for.

My father has been in Manor Lodge for just over a year and I can honestly say he loves it. He is extremely well cared for in all aspects of his care. He especially likes the activities and joins in all those he can. A really big thing for us as a family is we know dad is happy and well cared for so we have no worries.

Right from the first phone call to the home, I felt as if I was understood. The manager showed us around the home felt welcoming and homely. My mum was only there a short time but was really looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. When Mum passed away I was treated with care and dignity by the amazing staff.

Mum has been here nearly two months. We were apprehensive and extremely emotional having made the decision to place her in a care home. We really needn't have worried. Manor Lodge is just wonderful, clean, modern and perfect for Mum's needs. The staff, each and every one of them, are truly wonderful. Caring and compassionate. We have absolutely no concerns about having chosen this wonderful home for Mum.

We chose Manor Lodge in the first instance due to the CQC grading of outstanding. Following a joint visit, we grilled the staff about all of our concerns. Our questions were answered fully and we found the staff to be very friendly, even those who were just met in passing. Many of the staff have been here for some years, which is reassuring. The venue is clean and tidy. The food is good and they have a good activity regime. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Staff regularly pop in to check on Mum during our visits, again very reassuring.

Outstanding ++

My mum has challenging medical and mental needs. 2 previous homes have failed badly to meet these and have caused Mum to go into hospital 7 times in 12 months.

Manor Lodge simply have things under control through outstanding nursing and care staff, plus very professional and dedicated management.

We couldn't ask for more! Thank you!!

Grandma moved to Manor Lodge in May and we are really happy with the care provided. Grandma is always telling us about the lovely meals and desserts she has eaten. Grandma always attends the activities which she really enjoys. The activity staff are always happy to stop by and have a chat too. The lounge has recently been decorated too, which looks lovely.

Meet the Team (1)

Natasha Webster
Natasha WebsterJob Title:Home Manager

Hi, I'm Natasha Webster, the Home Manager at Manor Lodge.

I am a qualified Registered Nurse and have completed the Future Home Manager training with Care UK. I previously worked as Deputy Manager at Manor Lodge and, before joining Care UK six years ago, I was a Clinical Nurse Specialist at a local hospice in Surrey. After supporting a Care UK home as a CNS, I was inspired by the happy atmosphere and compassionate team, which led me to apply for a Clinical Nurse Manager role.

A care home manager should be compassionate and values-driven, promoting dignity, safety and person-centred care. Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and sound clinical and governance knowledge are essential to ensure high standards and support both residents and staff.

My favourite part of the day is walking around the home, seeing residents and staff happy, and watching meaningful moments and achievements unfold.

Outside of work, my family and I enjoy WWII re-enactment weekends, 1940s swing jive dancing with my daughter, and I also enjoy crochet and knitting.

My biggest career highlight has been becoming a Home Manager. I’m proud of the difference we make in residents’ lives each day and supporting staff to grow. The most important part of my role is ensuring residents are happy and safe, and that staff feel supported to develop and progress.
