It's as good as it gets living at Barchester Ashcombe House Care Home. I didn't think I would even get used to living in a care home but I was wring. I am so happy and love my new home and the friends I have made.

Our father has only been at Ashcombe nursing home for almost 2 weeks after being in hospital for almost 3 months and being told he needs end-of-life care.
When Dad left hospital he could not swallow or speak and was very agitated most of the time, now however, he is swallowing, beginning to speak,
less agitated and the person we know is coming back. This is all due to the amazing staff, they are genuinely caring and do as much as they can to make residents’ lives happier showing them respect and giving them dignity.
Visitors are always welcomed and also looked after and listened to and involved in all decisions of care.
This is such a lovely happy and welcoming place we can’t say anything negative at all.
Keep up the good work we as a family appreciate everything that you do.

I cannot speak more highly of the staff and management at Ashcombe House. My nan had a short 3 weeks at the home and received outstanding care throughout, both from the carers and nursing team. There was a relentless approach to ensure my nan was comfortable and staff went above and beyond to help her
to settle in and feel part of their 'family'. This welcome was also extended to myself and my family when we came to visit. There is a real team approach from all the staff, regardless of role, all working to achieving the highest of standards; an ethos clearly driven by the manager. All staff are professional, whilst being warm, kind, positive and supportive towards all the residents. I honestly cannot recommend Ashcombe House Care Home highly enough.

So glad we managed to get my grandad here! Couldn't ask for better.
My grandad moved into Ashcombe House in Febraury 2023. The manager went out of her way to support me in getting him out of the hospital and into a better care setting. Since then, he has been looked after so amazingly well by everyone
involved. A great family atmosphere, always welcoming, especially to my mum and myself. I cannot fault them in their support of my grandad's transition from his independence to the nursing elements he requires (difficult at times) whilst making him feel wanted, part of a family and still lots to look forward to. The admin and nursing team have been fantastic with me to help advice with the complexity of the NHS and care generally.

The care that Mum received at Ashcombe for the year she was in there was first-class. She loved her room and her hair and nails being done on a regular basis. The trips out, the bingo and the entertainment were so much better than being at home for her. All the staff became great friends with all of
us. I am so happy that the last year was spent at Ashcombe House and she had the care that we could not give her. If you need your loved one to go into a care home you could not do better than Ashcombe House. Thank you for everything.

I moved my aunt here 7 months ago from a different care home. The manager is fantastic- a brilliant manager and leader. The home has a 'family' feel and has made my aunt and my family feel so welcome. The care is outstanding and the activities are excellent. Thank you all, best decision I have made!

Ashcombe House is welcoming, friendly and helpful, and has a weekly timetable of entertainment and activities. The nursing care is very good and gives us peace of mind our mother is being well looked after. Ashcombe House was our mother's choice after it was recommended by a friend who lived here.

My mother had been a resident at Ashcombe House Care Home for nearly 5 years. She has not been the easiest of patients at times but the staff have looked after her with loving care. She was nearly 100 years old but her skin was in an immaculate condition. I recommend this home without hesitation from
all levels of staff.

Unfortunately, it was a short stay at Barchester Ashcombe House Care Home, Basingstoke due to being end of life but the care given was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble to ensure her last weeks were comfortable and we cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and support throughout. My nan has been really happy since moving into the care home, she receives great care and support from the staff. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. There are lots of fun activities organised throughout the week so always something to look forward to. The home
is nicely decorated and always clean.

From the moment we went to view Ashcombe House Care Home Basingstoke for our adopted relative. We found a very pleasant care home. The atmosphere of the 33-bedroom care home was excellent and was well decorated and looked after. The staff as we were taken around the home were kind and courteous to us
and all took the time to say hello. A few days later our adoptive relative was admitted. Throughout the short time our relative was there we cannot praise the staff highly enough. They looked after our adopted relative with true kindness, nothing was too much trouble for them. This home is excellent and if you want your family member cared for with the utmost care and dignity then look no further than Ashcombe House Care Home Basingstoke. Top care home, top staff and top facilities. Thank you Ashcombe House for all your help advice and above all care for our adoptive relative.

My mother-in-law has been in Ashcombe House Care Home for two years now. She is a 94-year-old lady. I'm very happy with the way she is looked after, she is receiving excellent care. It's a beautiful environment and the staff are fantastic.

Unfortunately both my parents have been so poorly that they had brief stays at Ashcombe House. On both occasions, they were looked after with care and dignity and I would have wanted either of them to have gone anywhere else.
The manager has been superb in helping us fight for what we were entitled
to. One nurse, in particular, stood out. Both my parents passed away here and we were so looked after and would recommend to anyone in this position.

When dad moved into Ashcombe House we were nervous due to a poor experience in a previous care home. We needn't have worried. As soon as we arrived the welcome was warm, both from the staff and residents. Nothing is too much trouble and we finally have peace of mind that dad is being cared for to a
really high standard.

The place and the staff are all fabulous. They took care of my dad, who was there on a short term basis. He was there for six weeks, and they all took wonderful care of him and were all respectful, kind and actually really cared about him. I cannot praise them highly enough.

Day staff caring and efficient. When called, attended promptly. Night staff rather noisy. Good selection and plentiful food of good quality. Had only room available, which was small and gloomy and no ensuite. Generally rather noisy environment particularly in evenings with loud TV's disturbing rest.
