From the management to all the staff attention to my mother's needs has been outstanding. Settling in of new residents couldn't have gone smoother.
Thank you for your review of Ashcombe House, we appreciate your time in completing this for us.
My friend is really enjoying life at the home. The staff are fantastic and there's lots of activities. There is an entire program every week and something for everyone. The manager's office is always open and she is very friendly. I've put my name down to move in.
Thank you for your review, we are so pleased to receive lovely feedback.
Lovely staff and my friend and I thoroughly enjoy all activities as a visitor they are kind and helpful.
Thank you for finding the time to complete a review. It's always lovely to see you when visiting.
I cannot speak more highly of the staff and management at Ashcombe House. My nan had a short 3 weeks at the home and received outstanding care throughout, both from the carers and nursing team. There was a relentless approach to ensure my nan was comfortable and staff went above and beyond to help her to settle in and feel part of their 'family'. This welcome was also extended to myself and my family when we came to visit. There is a real team approach from all the staff, regardless of role, all working to achieving the highest of standards; an ethos clearly driven by the manager. All staff are professional, whilst being warm, kind, positive and supportive towards all the residents. I honestly cannot recommend Ashcombe House Care Home highly enough.
Thank you Clare for you review, your nan was a lovely, kind lady. Please keep in touch, as myself and the staff would love for you to still come and visit.
My grandad moved into Ashcombe House in Febraury 2023. The manager went out of her way to support me in getting him out of the hospital and into a better care setting. Since then, he has been looked after so amazingly well by everyone involved. A great family atmosphere, always welcoming, especially to my mum and myself. I cannot fault them in their support of my grandad's transition from his independence to the nursing elements he requires (difficult at times) whilst making him feel wanted, part of a family and still lots to look forward to. The admin and nursing team have been fantastic with me to help advice with the complexity of the NHS and care generally.
Thank you for your review; I am so pleased you picked us, and it's been lovely seeing your grandad make friends and settle into his new home.
The care that Mum received at Ashcombe for the year she was in there was first-class. She loved her room and her hair and nails being done on a regular basis. The trips out, the bingo and the entertainment were so much better than being at home for her. All the staff became great friends with all of us. I am so happy that the last year was spent at Ashcombe House and she had the care that we could not give her. If you need your loved one to go into a care home you could not do better than Ashcombe House. Thank you for everything.
Thank you Maureen, we are so glad we got to spend the time with Mum, we all adored her. You really are an amazing family and the residents are so pleased you continue to do Knit and Natter with us.
Ashcombe House Care Home is an excellent care home. Management and staff are like family.
Thank you for your kind review, it is always a pleasure to see you when you visit.
Ashcombe House is welcoming, friendly and helpful, and has a weekly timetable of entertainment and activities. The nursing care is very good and gives us peace of mind our mother is being well looked after. Ashcombe House was our mother's choice after it was recommended by a friend who lived here.
Thank you for your feedback on Ashcombe House and the wonderful staff. It's lovely to receive reviews.
I was greeted by a staff member and each member of staff I encountered was helpful and cheerful. My friend, who is a resident, always speaks of how well she is cared for.
Thank you for your review, we really appreciate your time in doing one for us.
My mother had been a resident at Ashcombe House Care Home for nearly 5 years. She has not been the easiest of patients at times but the staff have looked after her with loving care. She was nearly 100 years old but her skin was in an immaculate condition. I recommend this home without hesitation from all levels of staff.
Thank you for your review, I will pass on your kind words to the team. Keep in touch.
Unfortunately, it was a short stay at Barchester Ashcombe House Care Home, Basingstoke due to being end of life but the care given was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble to ensure her last weeks were comfortable and we cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and support throughout. If your looking for care for a family member then look no further than Ashcombe House.
Thank you so much for your time in writing a review for us, it's always lovely to receive feedback for the team.
My nan has been really happy since moving into the care home, she receives great care and support from the staff. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. There are lots of fun activities organised throughout the week so always something to look forward to. The home is nicely decorated and always clean.
Thank you for your review, we adore your nan and are so pleased she moved in. I will pass on to the staff, thank you for your kind review.
From the moment we went to view Ashcombe House Care Home Basingstoke for our adopted relative. We found a very pleasant care home. The atmosphere of the 33-bedroom care home was excellent and was well decorated and looked after. The staff as we were taken around the home were kind and courteous to us and all took the time to say hello. A few days later our adoptive relative was admitted. Throughout the short time our relative was there we cannot praise the staff highly enough. They looked after our adopted relative with true kindness, nothing was too much trouble for them. This home is excellent and if you want your family member cared for with the utmost care and dignity then look no further than Ashcombe House Care Home Basingstoke. Top care home, top staff and top facilities. Thank you Ashcombe House for all your help advice and above all care for our adoptive relative.
Thank you for your kind words, it's been lovely getting to know you and your family. Please keep in touch.
My mother-in-law has been in Ashcombe House Care Home for two years now. She is a 94-year-old lady. I'm very happy with the way she is looked after, she is receiving excellent care. It's a beautiful environment and the staff are fantastic.
Thank you, Dorothy, for doing a review for us. It's always lovely to see you.
The manager has been superb in helping us fight for what we were entitled to. One nurse, in particular, stood out. Both my parents passed away here and we were so looked after and would recommend to anyone in this position.
Thank you for your review. I'm glad we had the opportunity to know your lovely parents.
When dad moved into Ashcombe House we were nervous due to a poor experience in a previous care home. We needn't have worried. As soon as we arrived the welcome was warm, both from the staff and residents. Nothing is too much trouble and we finally have peace of mind that dad is being cared for to a really high standard.
Thank you for your review and so glad you chose us to care for Dad.
A friend stayed at Ashcombe house. They had a great experience, the staff are really friendly and attentive and the home was Beautiful nothing was too much bother for the team there! I would highly recomend!
The place and the staff are all fabulous. They took care of my dad, who was there on a short term basis. He was there for six weeks, and they all took wonderful care of him and were all respectful, kind and actually really cared about him. I cannot praise them highly enough.
It was our pleasure to support your dad, and we are very pleased that he enjoyed his stay with us.
Day staff caring and efficient. When called, attended promptly. Night staff rather noisy. Good selection and plentiful food of good quality. Had only room available, which was small and gloomy and no ensuite. Generally rather noisy environment particularly in evenings with loud TV's disturbing rest. Didn't leave room, so cannot comment on activities or facilities.
The service I have had at Ashcombe House has been excellent. Also, the staff are very friendly and I have been made to feel very welcome. They have also been very kind in meeting my care needs. There is also a very nice atmosphere and lots of activities to occupy the residents.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, also thank you for your kind words.

Meet the Team (12)

Hi, my name is Alina, and I am the General Manager here at Ashcombe House.
I started my journey in care as a carer, working hands-on with residents before going on to qualify as a nurse. That experience shaped everything about the way I lead, and it's something I carry with me every single day.
It is my job to make sure Ashcombe House is a safe, caring, and happy place — for our residents who call it home, and for the brilliant team who look after them.
Please do come and visit us, meet the team, and have a look around. We would love to welcome you.

Hello, I’m Sarah, and I qualified as a nurse in 2004.
Over the course of my career, I have worked in both hospital and community settings within the NHS, with my previous role as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with the Urgent Community Response Team in Berkshire. It was within this role that I gained my Master's qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice and a love for older adult nursing.
I am passionate about providing excellent care and support to older adults and will strive to provide person-centred care at all times. As Deputy Manager, I will support our wonderful team to continue to be the welcoming, fun, caring home it already is.

Each of my days starts with a warm welcome to our residents and staff. The happiness and satisfaction of the residents and their relatives is the top priority.
I have a wealth of knowledge of working in a care system. I am very passionate about my role as Administrator at Ashcombe House.

I have recently joined Ashcombe and have really enjoyed getting to know the residents and the staff, I have lots of experience as a nurse and like to give my best every day. I always have a smile and am always there when anyone needs me.

Hi, my name is Gillian, and I am the Activities Coordinator at Ashcombe House.
I love spending time with and getting to know our residents; this helps me to offer meaningful activities within the home. From big events to a chat over a cuppa, every day is different. I am very privileged to do a job that I really enjoy.
When I'm not working, my Working Cocker Spaniel Basil keeps me busy!

I'm new to the team at Ashcombe and pride myself on delivering restaurant-quality food and fine dining. I enjoy interacting with the residents and finding out more about their likes and dislikes.

I started working at Barchester in 2019, have a background in electrical work, and joined the Ashcombe team in 2025. I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things work and finding practical solutions to keep everything running smoothly.
I take pride in my work and in helping behind the scenes to ensure Ashcombe House remains a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home for our residents.
It is important to me that every resident feels settled, secure, and happy in their surroundings. I am proud to play my part in making Ashcombe House a place where people can truly feel at home and thrive.

As Head Housekeeper, I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where everyone feels at home.
I lead my team with care, attention to detail, and a commitment to the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort and exceptional service

Sarah is proud to be the Ashcombe House Speak Up Champion. This role is to provide an alternative safe person to speak to about any concerns or questions

Anita was a carer at Ashcombe for many years before deciding she would like to take on the lead of care practitioner. Anita takes great pride in her work and does a fantastic job supporting the nurses

Residents love having their hair done. It's a chance to relax whilst being pampered.
