My partner was in Hawthorne for the last two years of her life.
I cannot express my gratitude for all the care she received. Hawthorne staff went far and beyond to make her comfortable and cared for. They also took time to ensure that I was alright and coping with a difficult situation.
To anyone
whose loved one goes into Hawthorne, I would say you're lucky. They couldn't be anywhere better, thank you everyone for everything.

My dad has been a resident for five years and the whole family know we are so lucky to have found this wonderful home. I cannot praise the staff enough, they are so kind and caring, striving to make every day different with various activities. They constantly interact with the residents ensuring they
are happy and all their needs are met. We are also so grateful to everyone for the hard work being done to keep everyone safe during these difficult times.

My first impression when visiting my elderly stepfather the day he went into Hawthorne Court, was a lovely reception area and welcoming staff and a really lovely atmosphere. Since I have been visiting now for a couple of months, I don't think I have ever seen a miserable face amongst staff or residents.
My stepfather is very happy and content and I am over the moon that he is so happy, well looked after and nothing is too much trouble. The lounge where he sits most of the time has a wonderful ambience and there is always someone around if you need to know anything or need help with anything. He looks forward to his mealtimes, gets taken out for a cigarette when convenient for the staff, which is a bonus for him. When visiting him, we can be sure of sitting with him comfortably in the lounge area, able to make a drink for ourselves and have a good natter with him and sometimes with the staff who are there on duty.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
Care Quality Commission is responsible for the registration and inspection of social care services in England.
