My mother was at Oaklands House from September 2016 until the end of February 2019 when she died and I cannot praise this nursing home enough.
Their care of my mother was superb!
They were very caring and compassionate, both towards her and us as relatives.
Any queries we had were quickly dealt
with and my Mum's needs and medication regularly reviewed. They quickly spotted when anything was wrong and immediately involved her GP.
In the last days of her life her care, compared with that of my Father who died in hospital, was outstanding!
She was regularly monitored by staff ensuring she was comfortable. We were allowed to stay with her - indeed we were given another room with a bed and a shower where we could sleep and wash as well as regularly fed too!
This meant that my brother, sister and I were able to be with her 24/7 in the last weeks of her life, which meant so much.
Staff really cared for my Mum - you cannot find that in all nursing homes as we know from previous experiences.

A happy place to come to. Residents and staff are comfortable with each other. Residents all looked cared for, clean and tidy. Rooms are comfortable and en-suite I regard as essential. Family welcomed whenever they visited. All questions regarding health. Eating etc answered fully. Thank you for your

As soon as we came here, we felt a warmth and kindness. A fresh, open and very well planned environment. At what has been a very difficult time for our family, Oaklands House, along with the lovely staff, have given us much peace of mind, in the knowledge that my dad couldn't be in a better place! This

My mother moved to Oaklands House in August after being in hospital for 4 weeks. As soon as I walked through the door of Oaklands House I knew it was the right place for mother to live. Myself and family could not be happier with the care she receives. The meals look very appetising and my mother has
gone from hardly eating when she lived alone to having a good appetite. We are very grateful.
She is in such a lovely home with amazing carers.

My mother was a resident here from mid-March until 24th August when she sadly passed away.
The staff were always so kind, caring and supportive. When mum became very poorly, the staff were amazing, sitting with mum to give us a break, making tea or a shoulder for us to cry on. Nothing was too much
trouble. The kindness and dignity mum was shown right up to the end of her life was exceptional. Oaklands House became very much part of our lives as well as mum's. It has a real feel of a big family about it.

My mother has recently passed away (July 2018) During her 18-month stay at Oaklands House she has received really good nursing (she arrived with badly ulcerated legs and would not sleep in a bed) and as a result, these problems were cured with compassion, humour and a great deal of care and attention.

The level of care for Dad in his end of life days has been overall excellent and appreciated by us all.


Happy, cheerful staff have been a real experience for us. Cleanliness )in difficult circumstances for cleaners) is better than previous experience.

I cannot fault the exceptional care at Oaklands.
The staff are just wonderful, showing kindness and compassion regardless of how they are treated. Their cheery demeanour was like sunshine in what may have otherwise been a depressing experience for family and friends of the resident, especially as this
was the oldest wing.
Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the kind, compassionate & caring culture clearly filtered right down through the organisation at every level.
When my brother had the first interview with the manager, she was extremely interested in our concerns and anxieties regarding the care of our father who was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease and gave us confidence that this was the right choice, and our expectations were fully met in every regard.
I cannot recommend this home highly enough to anyone looking for a high quality of care for one of their loved ones.
Many thanks to every member of staff that was involved in my father's care day and night.

As of March this year, my wife is a new resident at Oaklands. I have been most impressed with all aspects of her care from day one. She accepted Oaklands as her home immediately because we were able to personalise her room with pictures and photographs etc. and because the staff are friendly, helpful,
have infinite patience and are dedicated to their various roles.
Oaklands is kept warm, welcoming, extremely clean and tidy and provides its residents with a variety of activities to become involved in.

My mother's needs are well cared for. The staff are empathetic, responsive and helpful. Whilst my mother is not always able to engage in the activities program, she is normally still encouraged to participate even if it's just as an observer.

The staff all seem to be very friendly and helpful. Their caring manner towards the residents is especially noticeable.


I am always met with a smiling face and made to feel welcome.

I am very happy with the care my husband receives at this home. The staff are very good and if there comes a time when I cannot manage I hope that I could go into this home, as I cannot fault at all. Job Title: Home Manager

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Byron Nadgie and I am the manager at Oaklands House. I joined the Future Care Group because I passionately believe in their core values: Care, Comfort, Compassion and Credibility, which should always be at the centre of the way we work.


I started at Oaklands House 3 years ago, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience working within the care sector, having managed Nursing/Dementia and Residential homes, led management teams as a Regional and Managing Director, and finally became Head of Quality for the priory group south west and Wales, before moving to HC-0ne as a Quality Turnaround Lead Practitioner.


Starting out from the ground upwards, I first became a registered manager in 2002, and since then have enjoyed working within the care industry in management or senior management roles.


As a relative myself of a mum living in Nursing care, I strive to promote best practise, person-centred approaches and positive outcomes for all those who call Oaklands home.


I have a keen love of the outdoors, sitting in the sunshine and a passion for writing fantasy and fiction novels.

I’ve been with the company for two years after a complete career change of 16 years in retail. I joined The Future Care Group as an HCA then progressed to a senior and now I’m the administration manager, over my time with the company I have built up relationships with families over their loved ones and now I’m the contact for them as they contact the home. My role is fast-paced and each day is different.

Hello, I’m Martina, and I’d like to introduce myself. I’m a member of the Administration team, primarily stationed at our reception area. I’m typically the first point of contact when you visit Oaklands. I moved to the UK from Slovakia 16 years ago and joined Oaklands two and a half years ago as a night healthcare assistant. My passion for meeting new people and assisting families in maintaining their connections led me to make a career change and join the Administration team at Oaklands. I’m part of a three-person team under the leadership of Sally Ware.

Job Title: Head of Catering Joined: 1998

I'm Sarah, the Head of Catering! I have been at Oaklands for 21 years, where I actually started as a Carer. I often helped in the kitchen where I was mentored by the chef and began to learn about food preparation, diet and nutrition. I progressed to Chef and now Head Chef, and I am proud of my achievement and running our team.


We are always looking for ways to make food interesting, irrespective of dietary need. As a keen Baker I love to try out new recipes. I have a team of 5 chefs and kitchen assistants all of which are focused on providing a positive meal time experience.
