In spite of being one of only two full-time care staff on duty over the weekend (the rest were agency workers with limited familiarity with the residents) she was giving unstinted effort to make the residents feel valued and important, going above and beyond with their personal care.

Our family are very grateful for the care mum received during the final weeks of her life, which she spent ay Oaklands House. Every member of staff we met was happy to answer any questions we had or to find the answers for us. Everyone was caring and considerate and all our questions were answered with knowledge and understanding. We were kept updated with Mum's progress on a regular basis and whenever we visited she seemed rested and content. The home itself was light and airy and mum had a lovely peaceful room overlooking fields and trees.

My mother was at Oaklands House from September 2016 until the end of February 2019 when she died and I cannot praise this nursing home enough.
Their care of my mother was superb!
They were very caring and compassionate, both towards her and us as relatives.
Any queries we had were quickly dealt with and my Mum's needs and medication regularly reviewed. They quickly spotted when anything was wrong and immediately involved her GP.
In the last days of her life her care, compared with that of my Father who died in hospital, was outstanding!
She was regularly monitored by staff ensuring she was comfortable. We were allowed to stay with her - indeed we were given another room with a bed and a shower where we could sleep and wash as well as regularly fed too!
This meant that my brother, sister and I were able to be with her 24/7 in the last weeks of her life, which meant so much.

Staff really cared for my Mum - you cannot find that in all nursing homes as we know from previous experiences.

As soon as we came here, we felt a warmth and kindness. A fresh, open and very well planned environment. At what has been a very difficult time for our family, Oaklands House, along with the lovely staff, have given us much peace of mind, in the knowledge that my dad couldn't be in a better place! This is by far the best nursing home I have seen.

Heartfelt thanks to you all.

My mother moved to Oaklands House in August after being in hospital for 4 weeks. As soon as I walked through the door of Oaklands House I knew it was the right place for mother to live. Myself and family could not be happier with the care she receives. The meals look very appetising and my mother has gone from hardly eating when she lived alone to having a good appetite. We are very grateful.

She is in such a lovely home with amazing carers.

My mother was a resident here from mid-March until 24th August when she sadly passed away.

The staff were always so kind, caring and supportive. When mum became very poorly, the staff were amazing, sitting with mum to give us a break, making tea or a shoulder for us to cry on. Nothing was too much trouble. The kindness and dignity mum was shown right up to the end of her life was exceptional. Oaklands House became very much part of our lives as well as mum's. It has a real feel of a big family about it.

My mother has recently passed away (July 2018) During her 18-month stay at Oaklands House she has received really good nursing (she arrived with badly ulcerated legs and would not sleep in a bed) and as a result, these problems were cured with compassion, humour and a great deal of care and attention. Thank you. The management and staff get a great vote of confidence from myself and my family.

The level of care for Dad in his end of life days has been overall excellent and appreciated by us all.

Happy, cheerful staff have been a real experience for us. Cleanliness )in difficult circumstances for cleaners) is better than previous experience.

The home is kept scented well which is appreciated.

Great commitment by all carers experienced and witnessed.

Glad to support with cake donations to assist dementia fundraising.

I cannot fault the exceptional care at Oaklands.
The staff are just wonderful, showing kindness and compassion regardless of how they are treated. Their cheery demeanour was like sunshine in what may have otherwise been a depressing experience for family and friends of the resident, especially as this was the oldest wing.
Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the kind, compassionate & caring culture clearly filtered right down through the organisation at every level.
When my brother had the first interview with the manager, she was extremely interested in our concerns and anxieties regarding the care of our father who was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease and gave us confidence that this was the right choice, and our expectations were fully met in every regard.
I cannot recommend this home highly enough to anyone looking for a high quality of care for one of their loved ones.

Many thanks to every member of staff that was involved in my father's care day and night.

As of March this year, my wife is a new resident at Oaklands. I have been most impressed with all aspects of her care from day one. She accepted Oaklands as her home immediately because we were able to personalise her room with pictures and photographs etc. and because the staff are friendly, helpful, have infinite patience and are dedicated to their various roles.

Oaklands is kept warm, welcoming, extremely clean and tidy and provides its residents with a variety of activities to become involved in.

My mother's needs are well cared for. The staff are empathetic, responsive and helpful. Whilst my mother is not always able to engage in the activities program, she is normally still encouraged to participate even if it's just as an observer.
